Intro:
We kick off the third round of the Diamond Boxing Tournament with a battle of women looking for their first tournament win. Lorena Rae (0-2) takes on Lorella Boccia (0-2) in a battle of European beauties too. A win here might kick start a run up the rankings, so who will give themselves a chance to do it?
As with each round both women were given the chance to speak their mind on camera. Lorena stood in her bedroom wearing a white silk robe as she had her hands on her hips with a stern look on her face. She says "you all better not be writing me off yet."
Untying the knot on the sash holding the robe together. Lorena removes the robe onto the floor to show her body off in a sexy lingerie. She continues "as you can see I am in great shape. I am going to smash Lorella down and will move up the rankings because I am too good to be kept down, don't you agree?" Winking at the camera at the end.
While Lorella does her video inside her stables gym after a workout, sitting on a bench removing her hand wraps as she wears a navy blue sports bra, matching joggers and black trainers. She tells the camera in Italian with sub titles appearing "I am embarrassed to be honest how things have went so far. I am a former champion, I have enough experience to deal with the other fighters."
Tossing the hand wraps on the floor. She then says "but I am not giving up. As long as I am standing I will fight on. I will beat Lorena and prove I deserve to be in this tournament." She gets up and nods to whoever of her stable is holding the camera.
Fight night! Lorena is out first walking to the ring with her coach Gina Wild to her right. Lorena wearing a black sports bra with silver trim, matching trunks and shoes, black gloves and her hair in a ponytail. She climbs into the ring rolling her shoulders to keep herself loose as Gina tells her this is her chance to prove her doubters wrong.
Lorella now heads down the aisle with her coach Miyada Issiki. She is wearing a navy blue sports bra, matching trunks, shoes and gloves, hair is braided. She looks in a mean mood judging by the death stare she gives her opponent once inside the ring. Miyada rubbing her shoulders to keep her loose as both fighters know the importance of this bout.
The fighters walk to the middle of the ring for the face off. It's a tense stare down as both fighters have their hands on their hips. When told to touch gloves they do so with more a quick swipe then to really show respect. This is all about business now as they walk back to their corners. The bell rings to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.
Round 1:
Out they come with Lorella looking to close the distance to work her opponents body and already land a few sneaky shots around her jugs. Lorena doesn't like that one bit as she steps back. A left/right hook combo smacks Lorella on her cheeks as she leaves her guard too low. Both women nearly clash heads when Lorella tries to step inside and Lorena swings in a hook that doesn't land flush.
After a chaotic first minute. Lorena catches her opponent with a straight into her face. Lorella is caught with a follow up left hook around the ear to make her back off and shake her head. Lorena taking the chance to push the pace up a notch as she slams in a few flurries to push back Boccia to her heels.
There's a few heated exchanges as Lorella tries to fight her way back into this. Lorena though is landing the cleaner shots at midrange and forcing the Italian to back up. The round ends with Lorella banging her gloves together, knowing she had chances to grab control of the round and let it go away from her.
Round 2:
Both coming out heated again as they trade around the middle of the ring. Lorena needing to use her left forearm to keep nudging her smaller foe back as Lorella is trying to push inside to work. An overhand right catches Lorena on her jaw when she tries to push off Lorella to the delight of the Revolution corner.
Lorella starting to dictate the pace with her work on the inside. Lorena grunting with each clean body shot she takes. Needing to step back and ram her jab into the forehead of Lorella to try to ward her off. Both women are firing up as they work away. Both fighters fans cheering their girl on.
A sneaky uppercut catches out Lorena as she now finds herself bullied back into the ropes. Shelling up as less then twenty fives seconds to go. Lorella firing in hooks around the flanks of the German star to make her groan as her eyes are full of fire. The round comes to an end with the referee nudging back Lorella as she looks ready to keep swinging. Lorena sits on her stool with a glare aimed at her rival as neither wants to keep that zero in the tournament win column.
Round 3:
Lorena coming out looking to re-establish her jab but Lorella has other ideas. Getting in close and ramming more punches into the belly button of the German fighter, Lorena grunting with a slight grimace till she can hold onto Lorella to slow her momentum.
They are broken up with Lorena ramming home a jab/straight into the face of Lorella. Lorena now starting to put together her own punches into combinations. Lorella's cheeks are being marked up as the leather of Lorena's gloves smack off them.
Late in the round a looping left hook catches Rae on her chin to twist her head around. She ends up with her bum on the middle rope as Lorella pounds her jugs and stomach, going to what she does best as Lorena is gritting her gumshield. The bell dings with Lorena shaking her head looking frankly pissed off by how things are turning out. Gina maybe not helping things by telling her she is blowing this.
Round 4:
They both resume with Lorella again starting to dig away around the torso of Lorena to make the taller woman back off. Lorena nudges her with a push to her face. A straight catches Lorella flush on her nose to make her think as she backs up and allows Lorena now to come at her.
That rally goes into the second minute but Lorella catches Lorena with a jab under her chin to open her up to a right hook over the top. Lorena finding herself driven backwards as Lorella digs her toes in to fire away. Lorena nearly looks ready to cry in anger at how things are turning out here as again she is being beaten around her torso.
After holding onto her opponent, Lorena gets the space to work as both trade around the middle of the ring. A jab squarely lands into the chest of Lorena to open up the taller fighter to a looping right on her jaw. The round ends before Lorena gets pinned down. She takes a breath as she sits on her stool, Lorena gets told by Gina that she needs to dig deep and find something as Gina looks close to pulling her hair out. Lorella meanwhile taps her gloves on her stool as she stares across the ring at her rival.
Round 5:
They return out to fight with Lorena doubling up her jab and moving around to the left side of Lorella. The Italian looking to keep the pressure on but she is getting caught more through her guard to her face. When Boccia does manage to move in closer, she eats an uppercut flush on her chin to knock her back two steps as she was caught cold.
Lorena now sees a chance to lay some leather on her opponent. A right to the temple shakes the legs of Boccia. THAT'S FOLLOWED BY A LEFT HOOK TO THE EAR THAT SENDS LORELLA DOWN ONTO HER SIDE WITH HALF THE ROUND TO GO!
Lorena walks to the neutral corner with eyes firmly on Lorella as she takes in a few deeper breaths to keep calm. 1....2....3....4... Lorella turns to her front and gets to all fours with a shake of her head. 5....6....7... Pushing up to her right knee. 8... Lorella is up to her feet with a push but she wobbles, getting her footing she raises her fists to show she can continue.
They do resume but Lorella is shaky as her is getting smacked through her mitts to her face. It's clear she isn't fully recovered and ends up getting smacked with a few hooks that make her stumble into the ropes. MIYADA HAS SEEN ENOUGH AS SHE THROWS IN THE TOWEL TO SAVE LORELLA FROM MORE PUNISHMENT!
Winner Lorena Rae TKO Round 5
After:
Lorena needs to be held back as she looks keen to knock out Lorella but the referee manages to herd her back to her corner. Gina telling her "that's what I want to see!" Tapping her shoulders with both hands as she smiles for the first time in a while when it involves Lorena as the winner nods and takes a breath.
While Lorella is needing help back to her stool as she is shaky legged. Lorella sobs as she can't believe she lost, this was a fight she was in control of for good chunks of it and she ends up losing again. Miyada puts her right hand in her shoulder and is trying to console her fighter. Lorella doesn't seem in the mood to really listen though.
Up to the middle of the ring goes Lorena as Lorella can only watch her from her stool. Lorena getting her left hand raised in victory as she taps her chest with her right fist. This victory takes a bit of weight off her shoulders as now she is on the scoreboard.
Lorella can only sulk off with help from her coach. Head down as she walks to the back with help. Miyada will need to try to get Lorella in the right frame of mind with still four fights for her in this tournament, can Lorella pull this around?
The winner on the other hand tells Gina "never doubt me" in a stern tone. Gina holds her hands up and nods defensively. With Gina smirking when Lorena turns her back to her, clearly she thinks her tough love approach worked even if Lorena clearly didn't.
Out the ring they go together. There has been a few fighters who have started badly and went on runs in this tournaments history. Could Lorena do the same? She at least has given herself a chance to do so. Lorena looks determined to make everyone pay who tries to stop her going forwards. |
