Intro:
Third bout of the night here in the Lincoln Financial Field Stadium. Anna Jay hopes to make her first fight under the League of Mighty Women's stable banner a successful one. She takes on the multiple time former champion and veteran Torrie Wilson.
Both women gave their thoughts over social media. Anna posted "I am buzzing! To step into the ring with a legend and to have the backing of my new stable. This has been a rollercoaster ride but one I plan on leaving with a big beaming smile and a victory."
While Torrie posted "it's always great that the young stars want to share a ring with me. I keep myself in top shape because I know I can beat anyone on my day. So while I respect Anna and her team for coming my way, but I have forgotten more about this sport then they know. Bring it on!" Posting a picture to show her training for this contest.
Fight Night! Anna is first out with her new coach Ali Landry to her right. Anna walks down the aisle in a black robe with red trim, along with red gloves. Anna looks excited for this fight to show what she has learned since her last fight, which was a victory over Jade Cargill a year ago. Anna gets help taking her robe off by the ring steps to reveal a black sports bra with red pinstripes, matching trunks, black shoes and her hair tied into a ponytail. Anna climbs into the ring bowing to each side of the ring before heading to her corner. Ali massaging her shoulders as she tells her its her time to shine.
Torrie walks down the aisle to a loud cheer from the crowd as they show their respect. She blows kisses as she walk to the ring, high fives for those at ringside on her way to her side of the ring. Torrie steps into the ring wearing a white sports bra with silver trim, matching trunks and shoes, silver gloves, her hair tied into a ponytail as she is smiling.
Both women walk to the middle of the ring for a face off. Anna looking serious as Torrie is smiling. They respectfully touch gloves as Torrie wishes her young foe good luck. They both jog back to their corners with the fighters looking ready for the bell to ring to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.
Round 1:
There's a nod between the fighters before they start off fighting. Jabs are both fighters main weapon in the early going, Anna looking slightly more flexible of the pair as she moves her torso more to dodge and land single punches back into the face of Torrie. Who gives Anna a taste of her power with a short right hook on her cheek to make her head twist to the side as she backs off.
Torrie is looking to push the pace up a notch but she misses with a straight as Anna slips it. A counter right into the ribs of Torrie is followed by a left over the top to her cheek. Anna starting now to land more punches in rhthym as she loosens up. Torrie trying to match her, problem is she is getting clipped too easily.
Late in the round Torrie manages to dip down and move inside to test the body of Anna out. The younger woman backing up trying to land short hooks around the head of Wilson, showing a little too much respect to the veteran it seems as Torrie cracks her over the top with a short right on her jaw.
The round ends and Anna nods to Torrie before they return to their corners. A solid start for Anna under her new management. Torrie though not looking worried at all as she smiles and shares a little joke with her coach. Of course just before the bell rings for the next round, Torrie takes a breath and gets back into her zone.
Round 2:
Torrie coming out with some more pep to her step as she looks to drive back Anna early on with straight shots. Anna takes a straight square into her lips to make her retreat back. Torrie holding the middle of the ring keeping Anna towards the ropes.
While Torrie looks comfortable holding the center, she is getting hit with straight shots into her face as Anna is not shelling up. Both fighters getting more and more support from the crowd as seconds tick away. That spurs them on for several heated exchanges as leather smacks on flesh.
Less then thirty seconds to go; Anna dips under a straight and comes over the top with an overhand left that lands on the chin of Wilson. Torrie finds herself being forced back towards the ropes as Anna opens up on her with flurries. The round ends not long later with Torrie banging her gloves together, she can't be too displeased by most of what happened there, that last part of the round though wasn't great.
Round 3:
Anna is being told not to plant her feet as much, the trained dancer is more on her toes moving side to side to try to throw off the veteran. Torrie gets smacked more flush through her guard as she tries to work out Anna's movement. The veteran catches Anna near the end of the opening minute with a straight into her chest to slow her down.
Both are working in close as Torrie forces her way in. Working the flanks of Anna till she is pushed back. Anna landing a straight into the forehead of Torrie to keep her on the outside. Anna starting to pump more combinations into the face of Torrie as she looks great when she can get her rhthym going.
A left cross catches Anna out as her guard dips down. Torrie pressing her back into a neutral corner as she works the body to try to take some spring out of her opponents step. Anna holds onto Torrie to stop her assault. The rounds comes to a close after they are split up. Ali is giving Anna advice on keeping her guard up so not to give Torrie free hits.
Round 4:
Back out they come with Anna looking to jab and move again, Torrie showing she means business by giving Anna a nudge to her chest with her left hand. Her right smacks Anna on her lips to force her to take a step back. Torrie pressing back her younger foe to the ropes as she digs in punches to the body of her opponent.
Anna nudges back Torrie and lands a few short hooks to the face to make her retreat back. Anna moves away from the ropes but Torrie is keeping her jab into the face and chest of Anna. A straight slams into the face of the younger fighter to knock her to the ropes again as Anna looks frustrated.
Catching Torrie out with an uppercut to her chin. Anna looking to take her frustrations out on Torrie as she lands a three punch combo into the face of the blonde. Torrie covers up as she finds herself now bullied back into a neutral corner. Anna pinning her down as time ticks away. The round ending with Anna getting told off Ali to box clever as she returns to her stool. Torrie meanwhile has sweat dripping off her brow nodding to her coach as she seems happy enough with how things are going.
Round 5:
Trading around the middle of the ring. Torrie is still looking to close up like the last round. Anna times her coming in with an uppercut to snap back the head of Torrie with sweat flying. Torrie is being rocked back as Anna smells blood in the water. A LEFT HOOK LANDS ON THR CHIN OF TORRIE TO SEND HER DOWN ONTO HER BACK!
Anna nods over to Ali as she walks to the neutral corner. 1....2....3... Torrie has her gumshield hanging out her mouth as she looks out of it. 4....5....6....7... Torrie's coach grabs the towel to hang over their right shoulder as they are resigned to this defeat. 8....9....10 the count comes to a close!
Winner Anna Jay KO Round 5
After:
Anna looks almost disbelieving that she has won. She walks over to Torrie to kneel next to her to ask if she is going to be ok. The coach of Torrie checks their fighter over. Soon enough Torrie is sitting up after her gumshield is taken out, admitting her head is buzzing but she has felt worse.
Showing her class, Anna helps up Torrie to stand. Torrie in turn raises the right arm of Anna to show her endorsement for the young woman. Anna looks shocked as looks at someone who she watched break boundaries in the FCBA for wrestlers raise her arm. Anna thanks Torrie as they embrace.
With help Torrie leaves the ring. She is gingerly walking to the back but the legend doesn't look too disheartened by this defeat. Just enjoying testing herself in the ring as she tells her coach she can't wait to get back in the ring again. Maybe a rematch with frenemy Stacy Keibler is on the cards again in future.
In the ring the future Anna gets her left arm raised by the referee. Anna fighting back tears of joy as she blows kisses with her right hand to the cameras. Ali tells her she has some work to do but she was impressed by her new protégé. Anna looks proud of herself hearing that.
Out the ring goes the pair as Anna has a bright future it seems in the FCBA. Maybe she could become a future champion in the mould of Torrie. For now it's all about building her up as the LMW stable clearly see great things for her. |
