Intro:
Next up we have a battle of teacher Vs student. "Timeless" Toni Storm has been a mentor of a sorts to Mariah May since the young English woman joined AEW. They meet here tonight in Philadelphia"s Lincoln Financial Field stadium in what will be one of the most interesting affairs of the night.
A video plays to explain how this match came about. With the pictures in typical Toni fashion of black and white. Toni is talking to her butler in white Luther and in comes Mariah to tell Toni her big news. Mariah says enthusiastically "Miss Storm! I have wonderful news! I've been contacted by the FNL committee and they have offered me a chance to be on the next Boxermania card!" Toni looks over at her with a confused look who she even is.
"I was wondering if you'd be in my corner Miss Storm.." Marian says before Toni interrupts. Toni says "oh darling I know what you want, five minutes of fame alongside me as my co star. Well I'll give you a chance in the ring but you better stay on script." Mariah looks bamboozled by what she is hearing.
Toni then tells Mariah "but remember to keep your tits up and watch out for the shoe." Mariah nodding as Toni strolls off, Mariah nods but quickly ducks as a fluffy slipper flies towards her head from off camera. Luther grinning as he doesn't hide his dislike for Mariah before walking off. Mariah wondering what the hell she has gotten herself into.
Fight Night, the lights dim as Toni's music starts. A spotlight goes onto the stage as walk of fame stars show up on the LED aisle. Toni wearing a black satin robe with "timeless" in white letters on the back. Luther has her vintage looking brown gloves on a silver platter as Toni bounces around to loud cheers from the crowd. She steps into the ring and the robe comes off to reveal a black lingerie bra and top, her gloves are placed on by her coach as she tells the nearest camera to do a close up on her face.
Mariah now comes out looking at the ring with a grin as she struts down the aisle with her coach following behind. Mariah is wearing a pink bra and thong to go alongside her pink gloves, hair tied into a ponytail. She climbs into the ring blowing a few kisses to the crowd till she looks a little nervous looking at Toni.
The fighters jog to the center of the ring for the final instructions. Toni tells Luther to hand Mariah a script which makes Mariah slap it away to the disgust of Toni. Who tells Mariah "if you want a fight you have one darling" which makes Mariah nod as she looks annoyed by this all. They touch up their gloves before walking back to their corners. The bell rings to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.
Round 1:
Mariah looks a little unsure as they begin the bout. Toni certainly doesn't as she drills in her punches to the face of her opponent. Mariah gets hit with a right cross to snap her head back. Toni follows with a jab and a straight to push Mariah onto the ropes.
Maybe realising Toni isn't going to give her an easy time, Mariah starts fighting back hard. Both women slugging it out in close. With Toni needing to step back as Mariah smiles feeling confident. Till Toni catches her with a left hook across the jaw to twist her head.
While Toni is a character, she is showing her power and skill set off by landing combinations. Mariah covering up more tightly as she tries to work out Storms attacks. The bell rings with Toni telling the nearest camera "scene" as Mariah looks puzzled to say the least. The English beauties coach having to tell her to ignore the antics of her opponent and to fight her own fight.
Round 2:
Coming out with more force behind her punches, Mariah is landing more jabs through to the face of Toni. Who looks upset that she is being hit. Mariah lands a left hook before a straight to the face of Storm to make the Aussie realise she can't mess around with May.
Mariah is starting to push Toni around the perimeter of the ring with two punch combos. Toni dipping down to work the body of Mariah in response. Mariah soon has to try to push Toni out of her face as the "Timeless" one is showing her toughness to take a hit and move back in close.
The final minute sees more closer fought action. Toni slugging it out with her protégé. Mariah needing to nudge back Toni to land short hooks in response. Thr round comes to an end with Toni pointing at Mariah and yelling "how dare you!" As Mariah looks almost apologetic over hitting her wrestling mentor. Mariah shakes her head as she returns to her corner, clearly not wanting to play the games of Storm.
Round 3:
Both come out with more sting behind their punches. Toni dipping down more to close the distance with hooks to the body of May. Mariah landing short hooks around Toni's face to try to ward her back. Toni soon catches out Mariah with a jab onto the chin of Mariah to open her up to a right hook.
Toni drives back Mariah into a neutral corner. Toni slamming in hooks to the body. With Mariah pulling Toni into a clinch. The referee has to step in to pry them apart as Toni tells the referee to watch her hair. They roll their eyes at Toni as the fighters are broken up. Mariah out the corner looking serious as she gets her jab going as they resume.
Circling around the middle of the ring trading. Mariah is starting to gain momentum. Toni shuts that down with a jab on her opponents nose before a right cross onto her forehead. Mariah covering up as Toni whacking her around her guard with hooks. The round ends and Toni skips back to her corner as Mariah pouts.
Round 4:
They start off boxing around the middle of the ring. Toni dipping down and stabbing more punches to test those abs of the English rose. Mariah lands a right hook on the temple of Toni to make her back off as she blinks. Mariah bashing in a double jab with a straight to the face of Storm to knock her backwards to her heels.
Toni certainly not looking pleased now she is on the ropes. Mariah working the body of Toni now to try to break her guard. Toni responds by landing several short hooks out her guard. Mariah gets caught with an uppercut to make her back off so Toni can get out of the ropes.
Under forty five seconds to go. Toni getting caught through her mitts onto her face to mark it up. Mariah controlling the pace as she gets clipped by some hooks but is holding off Toni at range. The round comes to a close with Toni looking a little rattled as she walks back to her corner. Mariah meanwhile is chatting away to her coach as she is clearly focused to win this.
Round 5:
Exchanging around the middle of the ring. Toni gets caught with a straight on her forehead. She tries to step in with a right to the body. She gets hit with a left hook to her temple to make her blink as she retreats. Mariah slamming more punches into the face of Storm to drive her into a neutral corner. Where Mariah is hammering in more clean shots till she is held onto.
They are broken up with Mariah quick to get back at Toni. Who is finding herself being knocked around as Mariah is looking in the mood to knock her mentor out. Toni needing to hold on to Mariah to slow her down. No more games from Toni as she realises that Mariah isn't going to give her the win here.
But Storm is struggling to make much headway when they resume. Mariah herding her around the ropes as the English fighter is digging her toes into the canvas. The bell dings to end the round with Toni marching back to her corner. Her coach telling her to get her head on as Toni shakes it. Mariah meanwhile is smiling as for the first time this fight she seems confident that she is on top.
Round 6:
Toni comes out with more aggression as she clearly knows she is in a proper fight now. Mariah landing a few solid blows to her opponents face. Still Toni slips a straight to land a counter left hook onto the chin of Mariah to turn her head to the side.
Both are trading more solid shots as they plant their feet. Toni is starting to block more shots, landing counter shots as she looks to have found another gear after being bullied around in the last round. Mariah certainly not smiling now as she is forced to retreat and try to reset herself.
Into the last fifty seconds; Toni lands a jab on the chin of Mariah to push her onto her heels. A RIGHT HOOK CRASHES ONTO THE CHIN OF MARIAH TO SEND HER CRUMBLING ONTO HER BACK!
Toni skips to the neutral corner as her pep is back in her step. 1....2....3... Mariah has her eyes open but glazed over as she lays spread eagle. 4....5....6... Mariah bends her right knee. 7....8.... But she isn't moving much more then that. 9....10 it's all over for this bout!
Winner Toni Storm KO Round 6
After:
As soon as the bell rings Toni walks over to Mariah and slips her gloves off, leaning down to pull off Mariah's right glove. Toni shakes her hand as she says "good show darling, you played your part well" as Luther is grinning. Toni skipping back to her corner as she looks lost in her own world.
In comes the ringside doctor and Mariah's coach to check on her. Mariah is soon helped up onto her stool almost lost what the hell happened, especially when she wonders where her right glove is. Her coach needing to explain what happened to it.
Mariah is helped out the ring but looks like she wants to go congratulate Toni. Who doesn't even look in her direction as Toni moves to the middle of the ring. The winner getting her left arm raised in victory as Mariah just puts her head down. Luther who is applauding Toni, he is smirking cruelly as he casts a quick look at Mariah, not hiding his contempt for the young woman.
Toni tells the cameras to get a close up of her face. Framing her face with her hands as she gives a smouldering look to the camera. Afterwards she says "anyone who wants to engage in fisty cuffs with me can ring my agent up. I learned from the likes of Mae West and Eleanor Boardman" naming some of the golden age of Hollywood and celebrity female boxing stars.
She soon enough leaves the ring signing a few autographs at ringside. Toni is in her element after her victory. Will her new character be enough in the FCBA to make a statement? Wins are the most important thing and right now she is back on the positive side of things. |
