Mikie Hara versus Leanna Decker
Mikie Hara’s so far been unable to give her new stable the honor of a title belt, but it’s clear that she wants to and rule the FCBA as she ruled the BBU of old. She even called Decker “cake” right before the match began, which may have been a contributing factor of how hard Leanna attacked her in the first round.
In the first round, we saw Leanna try very hard to bash Mikie’s face in. The stage of "checking each other out” did not show up in this match’s opening round as Decker attacked Mikie’s face with jab after jab. Mikie, more used to opponents targeting her liver, which had proved to be her downfall in past matches and therefore drew more attention from opponents, was surprised and scrambled to match Leanna’s aggression, but Leanna had the momentum and therefore the round.
After a brief rest in-between rounds, Mikie Hara came into round two composed and collected. Leanna’s hound-like aggression was walled off by a champ-worthy guard. Tentative jabs to test Leanna’s vulnerabilities hit home, but Mikie did not pursue those openings. She did not know whether they hit because of Leanna’s reckless aggression or because Leanna was truly vulnerable in those areas. Mikie took round two.
By round three, however, her aggressive approach seemed to have cost Leanna too much energy, driving Mikie to home in on those openings only for her to eat a liver shot as she went for the head, stopping her in her tracks. Leanna had been paying attention after all, and she took the round by a wide margin again.
Mikie went into round four at her normal pace and with her usual style and found that it worked against the tiring Leanna. Focusing on her opponent’s belly, she systematically cleaned it out while maintaining a guard to ensure that she did not get punched in the liver again. Too many matches had ended that way. Round five went the same way, and Leanna finally folded over, unable to take the punishment, in the third minute of the fifth round.
Winner: Mikie Hara via KO5!
