Before: “27 wins and zero losses, even I am getting curious about how far my undefeated record can go. Of course, I expect to go to infinity and beyond, so this is another step towards that,” Billie Eilish says with a mixture of tease and bravado. “Hayden Panettiere is a Hall of Famer, a 3 time former Flyweight Champion, and I am always ready to show that while she is a legend of earlier days, I am a legend of today.”

Hayden Panettiere listens to all this calmly: “I remember when I was young and full of big talk. O course, I acknowledge Billie is more than talk. She’s beaten the likes of Natalie Portman, Vanessa Hudgens and—just last month—Emma Watson plus more young flyweight contenders than I can count. BUT—she hasn’t fought ME! I am here to test Billie and see just how good she is. I am willing bet she is not as good as me.”

“You threatening me, Hayden?” Billie inquires.

“No, just promising you as hard a fight as I can make it. You prepared for that?” Hayden retorts.

“I am always prepared. I knew you be a good challenge for my third defense. I will see you in the ring and prove I am the best flyweight fighter in the FCBA.” Billie declared.

“Challenge accepted, see you there,” Hayden said.

Soon enough, Billie and Hayden, having made dramatic entrances, stood facing each other in the ring. Billie in a punkish looking one piece of glowing green and black, with glowing green gloves and boots (black laces), he green streaked hair in a messy ponytail. Hayden in a white bikini with black gloves and boots (white), blonde hair in a battle braid. Referee goes through the instructions. The gloves are tapped and the fighters go to their corners. The bell rings!

R1: Billie and Hayden out promptly and move to midring. Billie goes after Hayden to the ribs in the early action. Hayden going with jabs to Billie’s head. They start circling, bobbing and weaving as the punching flows to head and body at a fairly even rate. Then Billie connects solidly to Hayden’s jaw, knocking it to the right and to the left with successive blows. Hayden falls back in confusion as Billie pounds away at Hayden’s midriff. Hayden bending forward at the waist now gets Billie’s punches bouncing off her head. Hayden scrambling to avoid the barrage as the round ends. Round goes wide to Billie Eilish.

R2: Billie and Hayden again about promptly at the bell Hayden gets the edge on the early punching as she jabs Billie to the face. Then as Billie’s mitts come up defensive, Hayden goes to Billie’s body with a sustained burst of leather. Billie bending from the impacts, but fighting back with body shots of her own. They trade up close and personal, Hammering in those short rights and lefts as they are nearly forehead to forehead. Hayden slowly forcing Billie to give ground late and it proves to be the edge as the judges give Hayden Panettiere a narrow win

R3: Hayden shifting her attention this round as she commences a determined attack at Billie’s head. Hayden is ducking and dodging as she keeps slamming in shots against Billie’s chin and jaw, then mixing in straight shots to the face. Billie getting bruised and lumpy from Hayden’s blows to her face and is obliged to try to keep her guard high. Now Hayden can work those ribs again and drive her hooks deep into Billie’s abs. Billie to use her own jab to drive Hayden off. She is scoring against Hayden’s cheekbones, but it is not slowing Hayden’s offensive which continues to the bell. Round wide to Hayden.

R4: Billie Eilish very quick out of her corner and starts punching away at Hayden as soon as she can get within range. Most of these punches are going into Hayden’s ribcage with a few striking deep into Hayden’s belly. Hayden knocked back steadily at first she fights back with her own body punching. Once again they are in close against each other, their elbows moving like pistons on a steam engine to drive home the power. Billie starts to give ground, but then seems to set her feet and get extra power into her counter punching. Hayden grunts as the impacts from these blows slam home against her ribs and is pushed back though she is till punching stubbornly at the bell. Close rounds leaves both fighters dripping with sweat and breathing hard. Judges add up the points it goes narrowly to Billie.

R5: Hayden back at Billie strongly in this round. She initially seems to be resuming the body battle of the previous round, but suddenly Hayden is clouting Billie to the chin. Billie reels back and appears to have caught by surprise. Hayden eager to build on the attack by swatting home rights and lefts against Billie’s jaw. Billie is now on the defensive, just trying to guard her head and get out of range. Hayden doing a good job of keeping up with Billie and now gives her attention to Billie’s ribs with fresh leather. Billie trying to twist away while using a barrage of jabs to disrupt Hayden’s advance. Hayden hit in the mouth and nose and it does bring her to a halt, but she’s soon back after Billie. Hayden looks to be trying to get Billie into the ropes, but Billie proves elusive. Nevertheless, Hayden dogged on Billie’s trail to the bell. Hayden wins this round easily.

R6: Hayden again going straight at Billie with a fierce attack to the body. Billie trying to fight Hayden off, but Hayden pounding those ribs over over and over. Billie hunching up, trying to protect those increasing aching ribs. Hayden maneuvering in front of the beleaguered champion, suddenly spots an opening and slips a powerful right uppercut into Billie’s chin. Billie’s head snaps back and her legs suddenly go wony. Hayden adds two more shots to the chin AND DOWN GOES BILLIE EILISH! Crowd on its collective feet in excitement as Billie is on her face struggling to rise. Hayden heads for the neutral corner and the referee counts. Billie gets to her hands and knees. Then pulls herself together and reaches a crouch. Then with a surge of effort to rises to break the count at “NINE!”

Groans from Hayden supporters. Cheers from faithful fans of Billie.

Hayden sighs and shrugs. As soon as the referee waves her in Hayden goes after Billie. To know ones surprise, Billie goes a tight defensive, face buried in gloves and giving up her flanks to finish the round. However the knockdown assures Hayden the win and she goes to her corner with a big smile. Billie looking shaken as she makes her way to her own corner.

R7: Crisis in the Front Street corner as urgent advice and encouragement is given to Billie Eilish. Billie nodding along, listening intently, and then rising at the bell with a determined look on her face. However, Hayden Panettiere is headed right for her. Hayden attacking to the head at first, but Billie blunting and blocking these efforts, then Billie strikes at Hayden to the jaw with rights and lefts of her own. Hayden knocked back on her heels, but quickly comes forward and now goes after Billie to the body. Billie moving to one side now fires a stream of shots into the side of Hayden’s head. Hayden ducks down and hammers in against Billie to the body. Billie answering to Hayden’s body. Billie steps away crisply. Hayden looks stiff and sluggish as she moves to her corner. It was a close round, but the judges give it to Billie Eilish.

R8: Foxfire working hard now on Hayden as Front Street is busy supporting the champion. Bell sounds. Billie moving swiftly towards a slower moving Hayden. Billie crowds in close and pumps short right hands into Hayden’s bell with steam hammer rapidity. Hayden gurgling in pain, jackknifes into Billie. Billie steps back and brings uppercuts crashing into Hayden’s chin. Hayden shudders, spins away AND COLLAPSES IN A HEAP! HAYDEN PANETTIERE IS DOWN!

Billie walks quickly to the neutral corner, Fro there, Billie watches as the referee counts over the fallen challenger. Hayden is stirring, trying to push herself up, but keeps falling back as the count marches relentlessly upwards:

“SEVEN!...EIGHT!...NINE!...TEN!...YOU…ARE…OUT!”

THE WNNER AND STILL FCBA FLYWEIGHT CHAMPION BILLIE EILISH BY KNOCKOUT OVER HAYDEN PANETTIERE ROUND 8!

AFTER: “I trust Hayden accepts that I have passed her test and proved I am the better boxer,” Billie Eilish says with a weary grin. “She’s a tough one. I will admit she gave me scare when I found myself on the canvas in R6. But my corner didn’t panic. They told me to just keep punching she’d break. So I did and did. So now I am 28-0. I wonder who wants to risj making tat 29.”

It is the next day before Hayden feels up to commenting on the fight: “I got to admit it hurts. Not just losing, but coming so close to winning. It would have been such a great thing to be the one to beat Billie Eilish, but that didn’t happen. She passed my test, all right. I don’t plan sit around feeling sorry myself. I am starting to focus for my next fight and leave this one for the record book.”
Excellent title bout as the hot newcomer champion takes on a proven veteran and, once again, comes away the victor. Hayden Panettiere tried hard, but couldn’t quite pull off the upset of Billie Eilish. FCBA fans now look eagerly to see who challenges the undefeated champion next
