CANADIAN INVASION AT THE ASYLUM: THIS TIME IT'S PERSONAL

BEFORE:

"She's athletic and talented," Joanne admits. "But, there's no substitute for experience, as Tate is about to find out."

"She's still dangerous," says Tate with a nod. "But. Not as dangerous as I am."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Shut Up and Dance' by Walk the Moon, and here comes brunette beauty Joanne Kelly!"

McCarthy: "And, let me go on record now as saying Kelly actually HAS FCBA wins and age ain't nothin' but a number so she's going to take OUT this Dancing Hooker!"

O'Dell: "Joanne into the ring and helped off with the robe, and she's certainly looking in shape in that black number she's wearing. And, that's 'Vicious' you hear behind us, and here comes the singer of that tune, 'The Calgary Crusader', Tate McRae!"

Tess: "Tate's continuing to do very well for Front Street, but both the lightweight and welterweight divisions are crowded, so she'll want to keep rolling tonight."

O'Dell: "Tate into the ring and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve, and the crowd popping for McRae in that admiral blue number. And, the ladies are about ready to go. Time for some picks. Tess likes Tate. Mac?"

McCarthy: "You HEARD me! Kelly!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "Another split panel. Let's see who's right. Ladies get to range early and going to get their respective boxes on. Kelly with a nice combination there and another. Older Canadian has found the range early here and she's taking advantage..."

McCarthy: "Smart, skilled veteran. She can take this tomato can apart!"

O'Dell: "No doubt Joanne's getting the work done early. Tate may have been wanting to take some time and do some recon here, but that's not happening. Joanne out of the gates fast, and she's getting a ton of points scored at range."

Tess: "Fast start might be a good idea. She's giving away a couple of decades here. If we go deep into the fight, Tate might have the advantage."

O'Dell: "Could be, but she'd doesn't have it now. Final seconds ticking away in the first, and Joanne's had much the better of things. SHARP exchange there, with both fighters landing a solid right hand and there's the bell. Kelly. Wide."

Cassie: "And, Joanne grabs the 10-9 lead."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Seeing some more movement now from Tate. McRae moving the feet laterally, giving ground in spots, forcing Joanne to turn and reset over and over again. Kelly doing OK at that, still working the jab, landing rights off it, but Tate able to give as good as she gets now..."

Cassie: "Tate not getting preempted, and that's making the difference..."

O'Dell: "Most definitely is, and the result is a good, two-way round in which both fighters are scoring despite some solid defense being played. BIG exchange there, and Tate got the better of it, backing Kelly up with a right hand..."

McCarthy: "Just keep after this kid. She'll crumble like a stale cookie!"

O'Dell: "Twenty seconds left in the second, and it's been a close one. McRae circling, stopping, popping. Kelly fires back and lands a solid right hand, and there's the bell. Close round, but McRae is going to get on the board."

Tess: "And even things at 19."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Third underway on the same terms as the second. McRae moving, circling at times, bouncing forward to get off, then slipping backward and to her right at others. Kelly looking to match footwork, play the angles, get to spots and get off..."

Tess: "Joanne showing plenty of skill here. She doesn't have the quickness Tate has, but she's able to score with anyway..."

O'Dell: "Has been so far. SHARP exchange there and both fighters land a solid right and TATE FOLLOWS UP WITH A RIGHT HOOK AND DOWN GOES JOANNA! Oh, a NASTY right hook from McRae and Kelly crashes to the canvas..."

Cassie: "Not likely to get up from that..."

O'Dell: "McRae to a neutral corner to watch and wait. Joanne down on her right side. Count at three. Four. Five. Kelly rolling to her back and staring up at the referee. Six. Seven. Eight. Not going to happen. Nine. TEN! It's OVER! Kelly can't beat the count and it's OVER and your winner by KO3 is 'The Calgary Crusader', Tate McRae!"

McCarthy: "Lucky punch!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Tate McRae, and, Tate, slow start for you..."

Tate (nodding): "She's a veteran. Tons of skill. Came right at me early, and that was a bit of a surprise. Had to make an adjustment. Once I got that done, it was all good."

Tess: "You're doing a lot of things right now, beach, JMDD, light, welter. What's next?"

Tate (smiling): "Ask your BFF. What ever she has in store, I'm ready!"
