BRIE LARSON VS SHAY MITCHELL

Brie: 34 YO, 5’7 (1.70 m) 45-18-0, 44 KO since 2017, Lookout! Boxing

Shay: 37 YO, 5’7 ½ (1.71 m) 39-38-0, 37 KO since 2011, Pretty Little Punchers (PLP)

Before: “I wanted to get started in 2024,” says Shay Mitchell, “and I thought of Brie. I beat her back in 2018, but she won in 2019 and 2022. I want to even things back up. 2023 wasn’t a good year for me and getting the new year off to a winning start is important to me.”

Brie Larson sighs theatrically; ‘Shay, Shay, you should have realized I have become a much a fighter since 2018. That’s why I beat you the next two times. That’s why I am going to beat you again.”

Shay scowled: “You haven’t won yet.”

“It is just a matter of time and right punches. I’m sorry you are having troubles with your career here, but I am not the one to get you out of them.” Brie said in an irritating tone.

“No, I am the only one who can fix my career, but I would certainly like to tart the process with you!” Shay snapped. “I’ll see you on Fight Night.”

“I will be looking forward to that,” Brie said in that same irritating tone as Shay stomped off the stage. Brie watched her go and murmured. “Never hurts to distract her.”

In the ring, the fan could eagerly watch as Brie and Shay removed their robes. Brie is in black bikini with pink boots and gloves with black laces. Her hair is in a ponytail. Shay in a white bikini with black boots and gloves (white laces). Shay’s hair is pulled back in a battle braid. Tense looks during referee’s instructions. Curt glove tap and then they march to their corners. What seems like a long pause and then bell rings!

R1: Shay and Brie out rapidly to the center of the ring and the leather begins to fly. Shay gets to Brie first, driving her back with a steady right/left series that smite Brie to the jaw, chin and cheekbones. Brie on her heels, trying to get her jab going to counter Shay’s barrage, but sshe seems to be having trouble setting up. Then Brie finally able to duck around Shay. As Shay turns she is hit hard by a big right hand to her jaw and a smacking eft to the chin. Now it is Shay falling back as Brie punches her head back steadily while lumping up Shay’s face. Then Shay is able to stun Brie with a sudden right to the point of her chin. Then Shay goes for the gut with big deep hooks. Brie is staggered, but tries to answer with body shots of her own, but then Shay lashes back with a head spinner right to the jaw. Brie knocked to one side but comes back at Shay with a big right of her own, but Shay ducks and it is only a glancing blow to the head. Time runs out on a head first round and a counting up of the points shows a narrow win for Shay Mitchell.

R2: Brie Larson out just a little faster than Shay Mitchell this round and it allows her to land the big right hand that disappointed in the last round. It connects with Shay’s jaw and the PLP boxer goes staggering off to one side. Brie able to smoothly pursue and she shells Shay to the head until she’s forced Shay to protect her head. Brie then goes after Shay to the midsection, pounding deep blows into Shay’s abs, then working over her ribs and adding some jugg mugging to finish up. Shay struggling to get some space between herself and Brie to reorganize, but Brie stays close. Shay able to get a good jab going late and this stings Brie in the face and rack. Brie drops back a moment, then comes back in with a fresh wave of body punching that takes the two of them to the bell. Brie Larson wins round wide.

R3: Out they comes for the new round and, this time, it is Shay Mitchell taking charge early. Brie Larson hit hard to the body especially in the belly and soon Bris is bent forward at the waist. Then Shay is buffeting the sides of Brie’s head with her lefts and rights. Brie hunkered down, occasionally popping out with a counter blow or two, but it hardly discourages Shay. Shay trying to steer Brie into the ropes, but Brie not cooperating. Brie keeps slipping away whenever Shay tries to cut off the ring, but Shay doing most of the punching as the round finishes. Shay Mitchell wins round wide.

R4: Brie on the move quickly from her corner and Shay is right there to meet her at mid ring. The two blaze way at each other. First to the head, but then they move to the body and get up close. They start moving their arms in and out like pistons of a steam engine, bringing blows into each other’s bodies as they glare into each other’s eyes with steely determination. Crowd on its feet cheering them on. Sweat spraying from heaving bodies as the battle rages on and on. Then Brie gets a meaty hook into Shay’s belly with enough power to put Shay up on her toes and then go stumbling back as a second belly buster crashes in. Shay gasping for air on shaky feet still fighting back as Brie seeks to build on her success, but Shay rights the ship and holds her off as the round ends. Close round, but it is Brie Larson who emerges the winner on the judges’ cards.

R5: Brie clearly working to resume her demolition work on Shay. She is out fast and goes right for Shay’s chin with her first blows. Shay hit, but gives it right back to Brie’s chin. Now trade head shots, but then Brie scores with a sudden strike against Shay’s abs. Shay doubled up and trying to protect her head. Brie having a fine time working over Shay’s overhanging breasts, Shay shuddering from these blows, tries to just get out of range, but Brie is not easily shaken She keeps up the pressure, though now she is working those side ribs and Shay plainly not enjoying that experience. Shay ducking and evading. Finally, she is able to shake off Brie and make it back to center ring. Brie closing in on her when time run out. Most of the punching this round was from Brie, so it is no surprise that she wins round wide.

R6: Shay Mitchell very aggressive as the new round begins. She is fast out of her corner and backs Brie Larson up with a sustained burst of rib and ab punches. Brie on her heels and struggling to get counterattack going. She tries to force her way in close to Shay, but Shay unloads a blasting right to the point of Brie’s chin. Brie brought to a stunned halt and Shay is fast to follow-up with lightning strike rights and lefts to the jaw. Brie reeling backwards and Shay smashing home the rights and lefts to the head at full power, BREE’s PINK BOOTS SUDDENLY FLY OUT FROM UNDER HER AND DOWN ON HER BACK SHE CRASHES NEAR THE ROPES! Shay stares down for just a quick moment and then scoots to the neutral corner. Referee moves in and begins to count. Bree is stirring and uses the ropes to help pull herself to her feet and breaks the count at “EIGHT!”

The referee checks Bree over quickly and then waves Shay back in. Brie sees her coming and gamely tries to meet the charge. They both swing for the head, but Shay blunts Bree’s blow with her shoulder while hers connects firmly with Bree’s chin. Bree reels back against the ropes and tries to take shelter behind her gloves, but punches hard and breaks through. He hits Bree to the chin again and again. Her head is bobbing up and down alarmingly, but her legs won’t quit. Observers are alarmed—AND THE REFEREE STEPS IN! Official bundles Breehay Mitchell grasps the top rope and holds up one arm in a victory salute.

THE WINNER: SHAY MITCHELL DEFEATS BRIE LARSON TKO6!

After: “It feels SO GOOD to have a new fight in my win column,” says a bruised, weary, but clearly thrilled Shay Mitchell. “Brie has always been a difficult opponent. I canlt tell you how great it is that I beat her and now we are 2-2. A 5th match? I admit it is tempting, but I think I will just savor this win and look around for someone else to beat. I want 2024 to be a great year for me!”

Not much coming from Brie Larson and the Lookout camp. “Of course Brie is not happy. She lost and to someone she thought she had figured. We’ll study the tape and she if hat lessons are to be learned. Brie is too good a fighter to let keep her down for long.

Very lively contest. A back and forth affair with Shay Mitchell pulling out the TKO in the 6th Round. Shay was in need of a good, solid win and this looks like it was it. Well-wishers eager to see what happens for Shay and for Brie Larson, who will surely be seeking a bounce-back in her next fight.
