Lorella Boccia vs Shannon Singh
(Words: Revolution / Results: Lookout!)

R1: Lorella Boccia shows her strength by brute-forcing her opponent’s guard, then using that same strength to beat Shannon badly in the first round, pushing her back to the ropes and holding her there. She is powerful. Despite it only being round one, Singh looks like she's almost out at the end of the round.

R2: Taking a defensive approach, Singh slows Boccia’s advance and grinds her down, eventually becoming the one with the initiative by the third minute. She shows her true strength in round 2, taking the round by a small margin.

R3: More of the same. Lorella’s brute-force approach is being walled off, and her attempts to outmaneuver Singh are themselves outmaneuvered. Singh is a technique boxer.

R4: But, given enough force, even the most perfect array of molecules will crumble. That is the way of things in chemistry, and it is the same in boxing, if you think about it. A particularly powerful punch knocks Singh off balance even through her guard, and Lorella seizes that opportunity to beat the Indian’s face in.

R5: The match comes to a standstill as the girls even out, then in Singh’s favor as she turns from blocking to dodging. If Lorella never makes contact, then all she’s doing is wasting energy, or so goes her reasoning. Using this rather devious approach, Singh wins the round by a wide margin.

R6: Singh is walking a tightrope, however. One mistake will cost her, and she keeps up the dance until the third minute when Lorella finally catches her. With her back to the ropes and nowhere to go, a sweeping hook aimed for her chin hits the side of her head as she ducks, sloshing her loose form with its angular momentum, then laying out on the mat as Lorella knocks her back into the ropes with a follow-up jab to her center of mass, her limp form bouncing twice before settling in a heap.

Winner: Lorella Boccia via KO6!
