Sydney Sweeney versus Hailey Baldwin (Body Saddle)
(Results: Lookout. Words: Wiz)
BEFORE:
Blonde/brunette battle sees Baldwin, who's shown some flashes during her handful of FCBA fights, battling Sweeney, who's become both a JMD and bantamweight contender and is now glancing at the body saddle, as body saddle stipulations are involved in this one.
Baldwin, despite being much taller, is a clear underdog here, but Hailey isn't buying that. "She's going to try to get in there and bully me," says the hard-eyed blonde. "But, it's not going to happen."
"Hailey's going to be upright JUST as long as I allow that," says Sidney. "As soon as I've gotten my work in, I'm taking her out, and there's not a THING she can do about it."
ROUND ONE:
Despite what both ladies said in the pre-fight, there's quite a bit of feeling out going on in the opening frame. Hailey wants to use all that length, and she does so pretty well. She's jabbing, moving the feet, making it tough for Sweeney to get to where she needs to to get off. Meanwhile, Sidney's probing, looking for paths to get to her spots. When she finds them, she gets off quickly, before Baldwin can extricate herself and get back to range. Result is a good, two-way round in which both fighters get work done and neither is able to gain any sort of control. At the bell, it's close, but it's Sweeney who grabs the points and the 10-9 lead.
ROUND TWO:
Sidney uses her intel to find her way forward. She's slipping past Hailey's defenses, getting inside, working body and GETTING ROCKED WITH A LEFT HOOK! Baldwin STAGGERS the brunette with a NASTY short left and Sidney is GOBSMACKED! Baldwin quickly all in, letting the hands go and backing Sweeney across the ring. Brunette looking ready to go here. Hailey determined to take her there, committing on everything, but Sidney managing to hold on. She's clinching and covering and backing and doing everything she can to run clock...and she makes it to the bell. When it rings, though, Baldwin's taken it wide to even things at 19.
ROUND THREE:
Sidney in trouble from the start. With her legs iffy and Hailey with all that reach, Sweeney's an easy target for Baldwin, who lets her have it from gunnery range, stepping to on occasion, but mostly staying outside and extending on her punches. The brunette takes a complete thumping for the first two minutes, but, late in the round, she begins to shake the worst of it and fire back in spots. Baldwin backs off the throttle a little, determined not to press her luck too far. She's built a huge lead in the frame, and, when the bell rings, there's no doubt that the blonde has taken the points wide again. The scorecards now read 29-28 in favor of Baldwin.
ROUND FOUR:
A rerun of the first round, but with less recon and more work for both fighters. It's all about who can get where and how often. When Baldwin's at range, the blonde's having her way with things. She's snapping out that jab, following on with right hands, scoring plenty. When Sidney can work past, get inside, bang body, bring her power to bear upstairs, it's another story. She's able to back up the blonde, force her to the defensive and pile up points. Add it all up, and it's, like the first, a very, very close round in which no one establishes any control. But, when the bell rings, like the first, it's the brunette who gets the points and evens things a 38.
ROUND FIVE:
Same again. Ladies working to negotiate terms. Both having some success, but neither able to get what they want on a consistent basis. BOOM! Right hand, SIDNEY and Hailey is HURT. A straight right sends Baldwin STEPPIN' IN FENCE POST HOLES! The brunette is immediately all in, thumping away to head and body. A reeling Hailey looking ready to go as the referee looks in closely. Three-punch combination from Sidney and DOWN GOES HAILEY! Baldwin crashes to her back and actually BOUNCES ONCE before coming to rest in the Maltese cross position. The referee counts, but it's a mere formality. Hailey is down and out and its OVER and your winner by KO5 is Sidney Sweeney!
AFTER:
Sydney beaming with triumph and pride, raising her fists up into the air as she bounces around the ring, jugs-a-jumping as she takes a moment to blow kisses to the fans.
Hailey going to get helped up in her corner, but Sydney not about to allow her any chance to recover as she pushes over to tug her rival back down to all fours with a thump on the canvas. Snapping her fingers as she calls for the ‘Body Saddle’ to be brought in as she taunts down towards her foe, practically purring, “Did you think just because you were taller, that I’d be intimidated. That was not going to happen because I’m going to make a career around here bringing bigger girls down to size. You look perfect just where you are…” as she goes to adjust the Body Saddle across her back. Hailey shivering as the cool leather brushes across her skin and trying to push herself up to resist what’s about to occur, but Sydney just bullies her back down to all fours.
Cinching the last strap into place, Sydney goes to mount her foe from behind, just showing off her control of a frustrated Baldwin, who tries to buck her off initially but each thrust of her hips and tug of Hailey’s tresses like reins urges her forward as Sydney smirks, “It should’ve been Hunter King or Paige Sprinac, but they were busy, so I got to beat you. I hope you had as much fun as I did, but good thing it’s not over either. We’ve got a few trips around the ring to make, bytch.”
The first circuit is completed slowly, but without too much effort as Sydney declares loudly at the end of the first, “That one is for Alyssa because she is obsessed with me obviously and I can’t blame her, can you?.” Sydney calls out an appreciative crowd, who agrees with the victorious blonde at the moment.
The second circuit is even slower with the first as Hailey’s spirit and body are both waning under the pressure, fighting back tears of anger as she tries to stay upright. Legs and arms buckling as Baldwin struggles to continue going, but her body is shaking as Sydney senses she’s about to fall. It doesn’t slow her taunting, but it does allow Sweeney to stand up. Towering over her foe as Hailey tries to get some sensation and strength back as Sydney declares ‘Giddy-Up…” with a laugh, then swats her foe’s behind to urge her forward. Bouncing her buns down across the Body Saddle again with another thrust of her hips to urge Hailey forward, managing to complete the second round after the momentary intermission. Sydney loudly declares at the end of the second circuit, “That one is for Anya Taylor-Joy who is clearly jealous of me and I mean, can you blame her?” as the crowd chants even louder here, chanting Sydney’s name as Sydney beams.
Leaning down to Hailey’s ear, whispering into it confidently, “One more time, skank…” as she tugs at her foe’s hair and then sits up straight. Waving like royalty as they complete another slow, torturous circuit around the ring, with several spots where Hailey seems like she’s about to collapse. Sydney skillfully slows things down and coaxes her rival to keep going, either through taunts, threats or physical motivation. But, as they reach the end of the circuit being completed thrice, Hailey spills down to the canvas in a puddle of sweat, tears and exhaustion.
Sydney goes to rise to her feet with a wide smile, hands up over her head as she beams, leaning over the ropes as she calls out to the crowd, “And that one was for me, because I’m the freaking best, right?” The crowd eating it up at the moment, chanting her name - although various supporters of Alyssa, Anya and other bantamweight fighters making sure to share their support of their respective fighters as well. But, Sydney ignoring them and focusing on the love from the majority as she goes to step out of the ring. Really treating Hailey shabby as she goes to literally walk all over her, stepping across her back to grind one foot across her back before continuing on for a night of celebration for the blonde!
