Before: “I challenged Hayden because I wanted to continue to show people that I can defeat veteran fighters, especially former champions like her,” explains Milly Bobby Brown at the pre-fight. “They have a lot of knowledge that, whether they know or not, they can share with me. I don’t intend to be a ‘flash in the pan’ rookie. I don’t think it would be too much to want a long career and to be in the Hall of Fame like Hayden is. Fighting and winning against her is part of that.”
“Apparently I am to part of the Legend of Milly Bobby Brown,” Hayden said with a smile. “I would prefer to among the few who have actually beaten our ‘Wonder Girl’ here. Natalie Portman did it. I would like a veteran who beat her. I would be more than satisfied with that.”
“I think you will just have to be satisfied with saying you had a fight with me,” replied MBB coolly.
“I am not someone who is so easily satisfied. As you will find out when we meet,” Hayden said with determination.
“Oh, I am always ready to learn new things. So should you,” Milly said with steel in her voice.
Fight Night, found Hayden Panettiere and Milly Bobby Brown facing ach other in the ring. They had removed their robes. Hayden was in a white bikini with black gloves and boots (white laces) her hair was in a French braid. Milly was wearing a sexy cobalt blue one piece with white boots and gloves. Her was bobbed and wetted down. Ring instructions are crisply given by the referee. Gloves are tapped. Milly and Hayd march to their corners and look impatient as they wait the bell. Then it comes: DING!
R1: Fast movement to the center of the ring by Hayden and Milly get the punching off to a quick start, The two are circling and counter circling against each other, seemingly trying to draw the other off balance. Punches are striking home to head and body as they probe for weaknesses. Then both lunge forward and swing big right hands to the jaw. They smack home simultaneously and both fighters end up stumbling away in momentary shock. They swiftly shake it off and come back at each other and this time they get into battle to the body as they mainly try to dent each other’s rib cage. Steady whacking with the occasional shot to the belly for variety. They go at this to the bell. Once it rings they step back with beads of sweat trickling down their bodies as they try to gulp in fresh air before moving back to their corners. The result of all this action is frustrating as the judges call it a DRAW.
R2: Milly and Hayden go right back to the body battle as R2 opens. They are soon toe to toe with their foreheads nearly touching, looking each other in the eyes as they heave in the short rights and lefts to ribs, abs, and sometimes breasts. As the time ticks away, they seem very even once again as each punch is matched by another from the opponent. Then, late in the round, Milly abruptly brings her right hand in behind Hayden’s mitts to clip her chin. Hayden lurches back apparently hearing birds chirping and Milly adds two more uppercuts to the chin before Hayden can get her head protected. Hayden falling back to steady herself. Milly wobbling back in distress, trying to get her mitts up high, but is slow to get her blasted body to obey. Hayden manages to bloody Milly’s nose before she blocked from further head action, but she now goes back to tormenting Milly to the body. Milly regaining some control as the round winds down and gets a decent jab going, which forces Hayden to work harder to get in her punches before time runs out. Results is another wide win of a round for Hayden. Hayden looking cheerful going to her corner. Milly looking stunned by this second nightmare round for her.
R6: Things proceed to get worse for Milly Bobby Brown. She makes another aggressive move early in the round by ducking down and trying to nail Hayden with a rising uppercut. However Hayden manages to pull back and the blow whistles passed her face. Then Hayden counters with a right/left to Milly’s jaw and then a right/left uppercut combo to the chin. Milly reels back on trembling legs. Milly does manage to shield her head and face from further damage, but then Hayden goes right back to MBB’s midsection with those devastating hooks. Milly is driven backwards into the ropes. She manages to get a seat on the middle rope, brace her legs and bury her face in her gloves. Meanwhile Hayden is treating Millys vulnerable torso like the heavy bag in her gym. Milly forced to endure waves of Panettiere leather that work over her shuddering body from breast to belly and back again. Only the sound of the bell ends MBB’s ordeal. Hayden steps back looking annoyed that Milly is still standing. She turns away leaving Milly to peel herself off the strands. However, she then squares her shoulders and heads for her corner. Hayden has scored a shutout against Milly, but as Milly marched to her corner she hadn’t yet broken the younger woman.
R7: Lookout corner working hard on Milly and comes firmly, but not so aggressive this time. Hayden moves in swiftly and goes for Milly to the body. The hooks strike home to Milly’s rib, but Milly suddenly side steps and brings her right hand cracking off Hayden’s chin. Hayden stumbles to one side. She is struggling to regain her senses and fight back, but Milly moving quickly to slam punches into Hayden’s left flank. Hayden turns away from this, tries to make a stand and exchanges head shots with Milly. Both are landing these hard, but Milly looks better able to shake them off and then she pushes Hayden back with belly hooks, Hayden swings back at Milly’s head but Milly ducks so it is only a glancing blow off the top of Milly’s head. Then Milly drops down and shoots up with that rising right uppercut. BAM! THIS TIME HAYDEN CAUGHT FLUSH AND NREARLY DOES A BACK FLIP ASSHE CRASHES DOWN ON HER BACK—STARFISHED ON THE CANVAS! Milly wastes no time getting to the neutral corner and looks back with an anxious look on her face. Hayden is raising her head with “what-just-happened?” look on her face. She does roll to one side and starts to push herself up. She manages to reach her knees, but the referee’s count as been rising steadily. Hayden makes an effort to rise further, but falls back. She looks up in despair as she hears the referee call oyt:
“EIGHT!...NINE!...TEN!...YOU’RE OUT!”
THE WINNER: MILLY BOBBY BROWN DEFEATS HAYDEN PANETTIERE KO7!
Before: Shocking reversal of fortune as Milly Bobby Brown was worked over for three straught rounds by Hayden Panettiere, but then knocked Hayden out in the next round.
“I was tougher than she thought,” Milly says, “but I admit she really worked me over. I’ll be sleeping with ice packs for a week. I am so relieved that I won this fight, but I wanted a veteran opponent who would test me. Hayden Panettiere certainly did that. She certainly impressed me.”
As for Hayden, she sadly comments: “I was so close to beating her. I misjudged the situation. That was not something a veteran should do, but even veterans can make rookie mistakes. I will salute Milly, she took a pounding from me and didn’t give up. I guess she is a Legend, but I still think if I had been a little smarter I could have pulled off the upset. No used to crying over it, At least I showed I still have what it takes. I want to be back out soon. My next opponent won’t be so lucky!”
What can one say. Hayden Panettiere seemingly had Milly Bobby Brown at the verge of defeat, but the young fighter turned the tables on her. Another memorable win for MBB. On an only wonder what will happen in her next time out. Meanwhile Hayden at least put other fighters on notice she’s not over the-hill. She came heartbreaking close to an upset win, but it got away from her. Fans are hoping she won’t let that happen again! The fans certainly got their money’s with this one. |
