BEFORE:
There's no doubt the story of the FCBA in the past two and a half years has been Stana Katic, a woman who had her first FCBA fight at the age of 43. (Pop Fisher: "People don't START playing ball at your age, they RETIRE!") Katic made the semi-finals of the initial tournament for the Jaguar Title, and, wow, what a nice little story that was! What no one realized was that the story was just beginning. From the moment of that loss, Stana's gone 32-5, along the way claiming the Jaguar Title, and then, shockingly, winning the lineal Unified Lightweight Championship over a woman seventeen years her junior. And, the story is far from over. Katic is now 46, undefeated in 2024, and holding an opportunity to win a SECOND Unified Lightweight Championship if she can beat the reigning title holder, Kylie Jenner, this fine evening. And, that's exactly what Stana plans to do. "Is there anyone still counting me out?" the Canadian says with a gorgeous smile. "Well. I'll just have to go out and prove them wrong. AGAIN."

"The only thing grandma is going to prove tonight," says Kylie with a sneer, "is whether or not she can still hit the canvas without breaking a hip. I mean, seriously, who is she? I've beaten some of the biggest stars in the world and I'm supposed to worry about somebody who probably brings an oxygen tank as their accessory to any red carpets they get pity invites to. But, honestly, tonight will be a win-win. This b*tch can cash her check for losing to the Champion and I can look forward to taking on actual fighters for the title, right?"

Katic sheepishly blushes as Kylie goes off on an emphatic mud-slinging campaign. “Oxygen tank stayed back home. I only had room for one carry-on bag and I plan to fill it with another belt.”

ROUND ONE:
There was little doubt coming in about what would decide this fight. If Katic can box, she's going to win. If Kylie can get inside and brawl, things are not going to go well for Stana. In round one? Things do NOT go well for Stana. Jenner's plowing forward, blocking, slipping, or just EATING the Canadian's jab, getting in her grill, and banging away with both hands. Jenner works a TON of body early, clearly having been told by her corner that the way to take away a 46-year-old's legs is through the body. But, the younger brunette doesn't neglect the upstairs, either, backing the older woman up again and again with hard shots. Katic has some moments, but they are few and far between, and, at the bell, Jenner's taken the points wide to lead 10-9.

ROUND TWO:
Stana adjusts. She's moving more laterally, giving a little ground, snapping out that left, doing everything she can to keep Kylie from advancing and squaring. And, it works, after a fashion. Jenner's still getting inside at times and scoring well to head and body when she does so, but, Katic's having her moments, too, out at range, boxing, putting punches together, offsetting what the younger brunette can do inside. It's a back-and-forth round, with neither fighter managing to gain any sort of control, and, when the bell rings, it's close, indeed, but it's the Canadian who gets the points and gets on the board, evening things at 19.

ROUND THREE:
An even better round for Katic. She's got the geometry down now, and she's taking the younger woman to school. But, instead of theorems and corollaries, she's hitting Kylie with punches. In the face. Lots of punches in the face. Jenner's working hard to get forward, but, for the first time all night, she's having very little success, while Stana picks her apart at range. By the last minute of the round, Katic's got it all working, and Kylie's actually getting backed up by the combined weight of the challenger's shot. When the bell finally rings, Jenner stomps to her corner and there's no doubt about the points. It's Stana wide and the challenger leads 29-28.

ROUND FOUR:
Kylie slowing her roll, so to speak. She's keeping the hands up, ducking the head, working forward more slowly, but much more effectively. She's getting inside, crowding Stana, working more body and then DROPPING HER WITH A RIGHT HOOK! Out of NOWHERE comes a BLISTERING hook that sends the challenger crashing to her right side! Champion stalks, hard-eyed, to a neutral corner to watch and wait. Katic rolls to her belly at five, pushes to hands and knees at seven, gets to her feet at nine. Ref thinks about it while giving her the mandatory, but waves on Jenner! Champ firing away, hammering the challenger back into the ropes and WORKING HER OVER to body, only going upstairs enough to keep the Canadian honest. Katic hurting, screaming into the gloves, keeping the guard high, hanging on...and making it to the bell. But, the huge 10-8 round puts Kylie in the lead 38-37.

ROUND FIVE:
Jenner banging away, stepping to, backing up a buzzed Stana. Katic looking ready to go as Kylie gets off lusty to both head and body, and, while the champion's not ignoring the tummy and ribs now, she's doing a lot more work upstairs as she tries to put an end to this thing. For her part, the Canadian is just trying to survive. She's taking a licking as Jenner simply lines her up and HAMMERS her with hard right hands. Some of the shot is so solid, that it leaves you wondering what's holding Stana up, and, by the end of the round, the challenger has even the champion wondering. But, it's something, because, when the bell rings, Katic is still standing, despite having absorbed a brutal beating as Jenner pitches a shutout to lead 48-46 at the half.

ROUND SIX:
Jenner in "drive", while Katic is in "reverse". Stana not necessarily STUCK there, she's there voluntarily, as those legs are still wobbly. Kylie again trying to finish this thing, and, absent that, effect a cleanup. And, while she's having trouble doing the former, she's absolutely going to check the latter off the old "to do" list. Again, the champion is stepping to the challenger and banging away to head and body. She's hooking a bit of rack in spots, tenderizing every legal inch of the Canadian. For Stana's part, she's running clock, countering in spots, getting more done than in the last round, but, not nearly enough. At the bell, it's Kylie wide and with the 58-55 lead.

ROUND SEVEN:
Jenner aggressive early, but begins to slow that roll again after about 45 seconds, because she can see that Stana's legs are finally coming back around. Katic able to set the feet, fire back in combination. She's clearly shaken most of the damage now, but, on the cards, the damage is DONE. She's down three with four to go, and Jenner is well aware of that, after hearing it in the corner between rounds. Canadian, however, isn't going to get sloppy. Instead, she's boxing at range. Kylie's not going to press her luck. Instead, she's working forward cautiously. Result is a two-way round that goes narrowly to the challenger, cutting the champion's lead to 67-65.

ROUND EIGHT:
More of the same. Katic getting her box on on the outside as Jenner works forward, making forays into the phone booth, where she gets work in to head and body and BOOM! Right hand, STANA and DOWN GOES KYLIE! Katic catches the champion on the way in with a NASTY right and Jenner is dropped to her back. Challenger to a neutral corner as Kylie stares up at the referee. Champion sits up at five, gets to her feet at seven, and takes the mandatory. And. ON. COMES. KATIC! Stana emptying the magazines as she hammers away at the listing champion with both hands, trapping her on the ropes and BATTERING her with solid leather. Kylie hanging on in a high guard, sent staggering along the ropes with a right hand and IT'S OVER! The ref leaps in and IT'S OVER! Jenner protesting to no avail and your winner by TKO8 and NEW Unified Lightweight Champion is Stana Katic!

AFTER:
For the second time in six months, Katic has completely BEWILDERED a Championship-winning fighter two DECADES her junior. The lanky Canadian has broken her OWN FCBA record, becoming the oldest lineal Title holder in the league’s history. It’s Kylie who’s on oxygen now, floundering to a knee in the aftermath of Stana’s winning flurry against the ropes. Jenner monkey-bars her way back to her feet, but Stana comes right on, taking the former Champion by the scalp and tugging her away from the safety of her corner who was just starting to pour through to her aid. Jenner shrieks in protest, her body awkwardly craning sideways before Katic SPIKES her heel into the crook of Jenner’s knee.

“Kneel.” Katic barks as she forces Jenner to humbly genuflect, the model obliging as she’s still too vacant and starry-eyed to mount a rebuttal. Kylie sags forward with a throaty grunt, hanging and sloshing from Stana’s waist-high grip on the back of her tight pony tail. Katic takes up the diamond-studded Championship belt in her free hand, beaming ear-to-ear as she thrusts it toward the rafters, the entire arena roaring in unison with the NEW Lightweight Champion.
