A MUSICAL NIGHT AT THE ASYLUM VI: JASON LIVES!

Posted by HBO's Boxing At The Asylum on 31 May 2024 at 5:11 pm

BEFORE:

"Twice on the beach, and we're even at 1," says the blonde with a nod. "So, hats off to her. She can hang with me. But. She's not as GOOD as me, and I'm going to prove it."

"Swift is as good as it gets in this division," the brunette admits. "Well. Not QUITE as good as it gets. Because, she's not as good as ME."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and the four-sided giant screen lowered over the arena, which means Asylum Beach is about to get some use. And, that's 'Fearless' you hear behind us, and across the sand comes the singer of that tune, Hall of Famer Taylor Swift!"

McCarthy: "And, she's going to knock that toothpick so deep into the sand, Weirdo will need a backhoe to get her back across the street!"

O'Dell: "Swift climbing through the ropes to be helped off with the robe by the Fates corner crew, and she's looking plenty good in that black number, if the crowd reaction can be believed. And, that's 'Natural' by Imagine Dragons and across the beach 'The Face', Taylor Hill!"

Tess: "Huge fight for Hill tonight. She's currently at the top of the Front Street pecking order among the bigs, and a win here could get her into the title picture..."

Cassie: "But, Kennedy McMann is on her tail and we've already seen Marie, Cristy, and Tate win tonight."

O'Dell: "Hill between the ropes and helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve, and the crowd popping for the brunette beauty in that azure number she likes. Ladies about ready to go. Time for some picks. Tess likes Swift in this one..."

McCarthy: "I hate to agree with Walmart, but Swift. Easy!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I'm going with 'The Face'!"

O'Dell: "There's the bell. Ladies setting up at range, and no surprise there, as both prefer to use all that length to their advantage. Hill quickly a pair of solid combinations that back up Swift, and the younger Taylor now getting it rolling early..."

Cassie: "Swift not hurt, but she's on the back foot."

O'Dell: "Sure is, and the brunette determined to keep her there. The Front Streeter coming forward behind the left, backing Swift across the sand again and again. Blonde countering here and there, but she's out of sorts in a major way right now..."

McCarthy: "Put your foot in the sand and fire back, Swift!"

O'Dell: "Blonde unable to do that right now. Instead, Hill coming forward, putting together punches, piling up points as the final ten seconds tick off the clock. GOOD right hand by the brunette, and there's the bell. Not close in the first. Hill."

Tess: "And the brunette takes the 10-9 lead."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Swift determined to hold canvas in this stanza. She's setting up at range, firing solid shot in combination. Hill responding in kind, and we've got some nice, two-way boxing going on now, with both blonden and brunette scoring well..."

Tess: "This is a lot more like what we thought we'd see..."

O'Dell: "Sure is. Both fighters moving head, hands, and feet, kicking up sand, showing a ton of skill as they look for openings and fill them with leather. There's not a lot in it this time, as both Swift and Hill are getting work done, and neither is gaining a real advantage."

McCarthy: "Swift just needs to keep busy. She'll take out the toothpick..."

O'Dell: Down under twenty to go in a very competitive second. Sharp exchange there and Hill backed up a step by a right hand. Five seconds. GOOD right from the blonde and there's the bell. Close, but Swift takes the points."

Cassie: "And evens things at 19."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Swift getting it rolling now. She's following up on what she did late in the second and she's backing up Hill with solid shot. Brunette in retreat across the beach, not hurt, but being forced to the defensive as the older Taylor steps forward behind that left."

Cassie: "Complete 180 from the first round."

O'Dell: "Definitely is. Front Streeter playing it smart here. She's giving ground, keeping the guard high, firing back when she gets the opportunity. Blonde determined to impose will, backing her rival up, scoring well with both hands."

McCarthy: "Sooner or later the toothpick will snap!"

O'Dell: "Coming down the stretch in the third, and it's been Swift in control the whole way. NICE combination by the Fates beauty and there's the bell. Not going to be any doubt about the points in this one. Swift and wide."

Tess: "And the blonde pulls into the 29-28 lead."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Swift pushing forward to start the fourth and she EATS A RIGHT HAND FROM HILL! Brunette catches the blonde coming forward and Swift is GOBSMACKED! Older woman stumbling backward across the sand as the Front Streeter goes onto the offensive..."

McCarthy: "Hang in there, Swift! She couldn't knock down a house of cards with her power!"

O'Dell: "Swift giving ground, taking fire from the brunette. Younger woman looking to finish this thing now. Blonde keeping the guard high, backing into the ropes as Hill's getting off lusty. Referee looking in closely now..."

Tess: "But Swift blocking, rolling with..."

O'Dell: "And, doing enough offensively to keep the ref at bay. Down under fifteen seconds in the fourth. Hill trying to find the 'off' switch, but Swift going to keep it hidden to the bell. It's the brunette's round and very wide, however..."

Cassie: "And, we're even at 38."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Hill pressuring to start the fifth. Swift giving ground. Younger woman looking to finish, as the blonde is still clearly a little unsteady and DOWN SHE GOES! Hill with a three-punch combination and Swift takes a seat in the sand!"

McCarthy: "Get up, Swift, you BUM!"

O'Dell: "Hill to a neutral corner. Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Swift getting to her feet at seven. Ref brushing the sand off her as he gives her the mandatory. And, he waves on the brunette. Hill charging across the beach, winging away..."

Cassie: "Definitely looking to end this now..."

O'Dell: "Sure is, but Swift again on this ropes, guard high, blocking, rolling with, jabbing back in spots. It's excellent stuff for the blonde defensively. Final seconds ticking away in the fifth, and there's the bell. Huge 10-8 round for the Front Streeter, but Swift survives."

Tess: "But, Hill now leads 48-46 at the half."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Hill pushing forward again behind the left. Swift giving ground, firing back more consistently now, though. May have shaken the worst of the damage. Brunette with a solid combination and the blonde bangs back..."

McCarthy: "Trade with that toothpick, Swift!"

O'Dell: "Some high octane action on the beach in the second minute of this round, as the blonde's legs are coming back around and the brunette is still pressing the fight. Tons of heavy leather being exchanged at range here, and nobody backing down..."

Tess: "Really good stuff from both fighters..."

O'Dell: "Most certainly is. Final seconds of what's been a fast-paced sixth. BIG right from Swift and a rejoinder from Hill! Crowd on the edge of its seats as the ladies trade bombs again and there's the bell! Closer this time, but still Hill."

Cassie: "And the brunette's up three, 58-55, with four to go."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "Ladies right back at it in the seventh, going after one another as they trade combinations at range on Asylum beach. GOOD right hand by Hill and a BETTER ONE BY SWIFT AND THE BRUNETTE IS HURT!"

McCarthy: "YES! SNAP THE TOOTHPICK!"

O'Dell: "Swift all in now, as the younger woman's legs wobble! Blonde backing the brunette across the sand and pinning her to the cables. Going body in a big way, trying to bring down her rival's guard. Front Streeter keeping it high and tight..."

Cassie: "Got to ride this one out..."

O'Dell: "That's clearly the plan. Swift upstairs, then right back down. She's working hard to finish this thing, but Hill denying her that as we roll into the final seconds of the seventh. GOOD right by the blonde, and there's the bell. Swift. Wide."

Tess: "But, Hill still leads it 67-65."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "Swift after Hill early in this one as the older Taylor backs the younger across the beach. Blonde sitting down on everything, determined to get the brunette out of there. Front Streeter willing to trade space for time right now..."

McCarthy: "It's just a MATTER of time until Toothpick Snapping Time!"

O'Dell: "GOOD right hand by Swift backs Hill up a step. Blonde stepping to behind that jab, committing on everything at the moment. SHARP combination by Swift and DOWN GOES HILL! Brunette crashes to her back in the sand..."

Tess: "That might do it..."

O'Dell: "Swift quickly to a neutral corner. Hill down on her back, not moving at all. Count at three. Four. Five. This is going to be academic. Six. Seven. Eight. Still no movement from the brunette. Nine. TEN! It's OVER! Hill both down AND out and it's OVER and your winner by KO8 is Taylor Swift!"

Cassie: "Heck of a fight and a great comeback from Swift."

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go across the street to Cassie Scerbo!"

Cassie: "I have our winner, Taylor Swift, and, Taylor, great fight tonight..."

Taylor (smiling): "Always is when we get together. But, let's keep in mind who has the 2-1 lead in the series now."

Cassie: "So, what's next for T-Swift?"

Taylor: "Gold, Cassie. That's what I'm after. Gold."
