Intro:
We kick off tonights action in the Alamodome with Lorella Boccia (1-3) relieved last month to have broken her duck in the Diamond Boxing Tournament. Alexandria Morgan (0-4) is the last person to have not won a bout. Even with her impressive performances, she hasn't found the answer to the riddle of getting a win. Can Lorella keep on moving upwards or can Alexandria break her duck?
Heading into this contest both women gave their thoughts on camera. Lorella walks onto the set sitting on a seat with a smile. She is wearing a blue dress with matching heels. She raises her right index finger in the air to show she finally has a win on the board.
"I am so pleased to have broken my losing run. I knew would get a win, just annoyed at myself it took so long to achieve" she says in her native language. Looking like a weight has been lifted off her shoulders compared to her videos in the past few rounds.
Sitting up. Lorella places her hands on her hips as she says "Alexandria is tough but there's a reason she hasn't gotten a win yet. She simply can't handle the pressure. I have proven I am a diamond under the heat of my opponent. Alexandria will learn why I am a great fighter."
When it's Alexandria's turn, she walks into the room wearing a stars and stripes bikini along with red heels. She kicks off the heels before flexing her arms. Telling the camera "I know you are wondering why I am dressed like this. I want to remind the fans of the FCBA and my opponents why I am someone not to f**k around with. I hear the disrespect about me and let's get this straight. I have the body that these bytches would die for."
Getting back into her heels. Alexandria points at the camera before she adds "to Lorella. You are on cloud nine because you finally won a fight. With all the backing you've had, you celebrate getting a victory like you won a Superbowl. I can't wait to bring you back to reality." Marching off the set as clearly she wants to prove a point in this bout.
Fight night! First out comes Lorella with her coach Miyada Issiki to her left. Lorella bangs her navy blue gloves together as she walks down the aisle. Showing off an Italian flag themed gumshield as she looks keen to fight tonight. She climbs into the ring wearing a blue sports bra, matching trunks and shoes. Her hair is in a ponytail as she paces side to side in her corner.
Alexandria now walks down the aisle with her coach behind her. She gets a loud cheer being the American girl against the foreign talent here. It helps that Alexandria is wearing a blue sports bra with white stars on the bra cups. Red trunks with white stripes down the sides, matching shoes and white gloves, along with her hair tied into a ponytail finish her look off. Alexandria gets into the ring and bounces on her toes.
The referee brings the two fighters to them at the middle of the ring. A hard look exchanged between the fighters before they do bump fists, a little harder then is really needed. They jog back to their corners. The bell rings to start 10 rounds of welterweight action.
Round 1:
Lorella looking to get in the face of the taller fighter out the gate. Alexandria having to deal with her as they exchange short sharp punches. Lorella gets nudged back but lands a left hook over the top onto the chin of Alexandria to twist her head.
Certainly not the start that Alexandria wanted as she backs off. Lorella presses her back onto the ropes. Where she digs away at the stomach of her foe. Alexandria pulls her into a clinch. Referee splits them apart with Alexandria looking annoyed at how things are going.
They resume with Alexandria landing several punches landing square into the face of Lorella. Boxing at midrange as the Italian isn't finding her way in close as easily. Lorella is digging several punches into the abs of Alexandria as she ducks down. Alexandria meanwhile landing around the top of her foes head. The round ending with Boccia tapping her gloves together as she is looking keen to fight.
Round 2:
Both push off their stools with Alexandria starting to get her jab going. Lorella landing a few stiff body shots from range as she looks to crouch down to move in closer. Both land a few hooks when in closer before Alexandria gives Lorella a push to create space again.
Starting to move Lorella around the outside part of the ring. Alexandria stabbing in several punches through gaps in her opponents guard. Lorella just missing with several overhand punches as Alexandria is keeping the distance between them pretty well.
Though as shown near the end of the round Alexandria gets an overhand right on her jaw. Lorella starts to press her back before being nudged back. Both go toe to toe in the dying moments of the round. They trade till the bell rings. Alexandria takes a breath as she sits down, maybe shedding some nervous energy after most likely getting this round on the board.
Round 3:
Again Alexandria starts off the round with her precision punches landing onto the forehead of the smaller fighter. Lorella manages to get in closer to land a jab to the chest of Alexandria before following with two short right hooks to the body of Morgan.
Pushing back Boccia, Alexandria lands several two and three punch combos. She is looking crisp now that she has some confidence behind her. Lorella grunting with each hit she takes as she is moving around the outside part of the ring. Lorella needing to duck down to hammer in some hooks around the ribs of the American.
Late in the round Lorella lands a straight under the chin of Alexandria. She works her back into the ropes with a flurry of body shots. The bell rings as Alexandria pushes her off. Both have to be held apart by the referee as they exchange a few tense words. They get wiped down as they sit on their stools. Miyada telling Lorella to pick her attacks, not keep trying to rush head first in.
Round 4:
Moving her upper body more so she isn't as easy to hit. Lorella is landing more punches around the chest of Alexandria. Who is up on her toes trying to keep the distance between them. Both drilling each other through gaps in each others defences as they are opening up more.
An overhand right catches Alexandria on her chin before a jab lands under it to push her onto her heels. Lorella is stepping after her with straight shots into the face of Alexandria to drive her into her own corner. Once the guard of Morgan goes up, Lorella's punches go down to the body to make the blonde grimace.
Pushing off Lorella; Alexandria looks to come back at her. A right lands into the breadbasket of Morgan. Who isn't enjoying taking the Italians body shots. The bell rings with Lorella nodding to Miyada as if to say "that's better right?" While Alexandria sits on her stool with a glare aimed at her opponent.
Round 5:
Resuming with Alexandria looking to get back on her toes. Problem for her is Lorella catches her out after using a feint. The Italian beauty reads where Alexandria wants to go and lands a right hook across her jaw to turn her head.
Being pushed back into a neutral corner. Alexandria is trying to fight back but she is getting clipped across her face by short hooks. She tries to grab hold of Lorella. WHO PUSHES HER TO THE FACE BEFORE A RIGHT HOOK LANDS SQUARE INTO THE LIVER AREA OF ALEXANDRIA! DOWN SHE GOES TO ALL FOURS WITH HER CHEEKS TURNING RED!
Lorella walks over to the neutral corner with a nod to her coach. 1....2....3....4... Alexandria spits out her gumshield. Breathing hard as 5....6....7... She is holding her stomach as she pushes with a groan to her knees. 8....9....10 that's it for this one! Alexandria is counted out!
Winner Lorella Boccia KO Round 5
After:
Lorella does a lap of honour inside the ring to a mixture of boos and cheers. Ignoring Alexandria as she struts past her as she has found her mojo again after a bit of a rough patch to start the tournament off.
The winner stops at her corner to see the nod of approval from Miyada. The gloves of Lorella come off as she disy bumps her coach before sitting down to get cleaned up.
Alexandria needs helped up onto her stool with an ice pack placed onto her stomach. She wipes tears after her gloves are taken off. Shaking her head as she loses again and you have to wonder how much toll this is taken on her confidence as much as anything else.
Helped out of the ring by her coach. Alexandria has the ice pack still placed on her stomach as she slowly walks to the back as it is clearly still sore. She looks up at the ceiling before heading into the back stage area. Her performances have been good for the most part. It's the winning part that has been her issue. How does she turn this around?
Someone who found their answers to that question is Lorella. She gets her left arm raised in the air as she is on the road to redemption it seems after being signed by her stable but struggling early on for them. Her two wins in the tournament have given her a great platform to build off now.
Miyada helps her out the ring with Lorella thanking her. Lorella has two big fights left in the tournament, she might be able to finish in the top three if results go her way and she can this form going in the right direction. |
