Intro:
Our penultimate bout of tonight sees a generational clash. Millie Bobby Brown is to most people the face of the new generation in the FCBA and acting. "Magical" Emma Watson once was in the exact same role. They meet here in Las Vegas's MGM Grand to settle who is the best when the gloves go on.
Heading into the bout there were rumblings of a few words being spoken at VIP events over the past year that weren't exactly friendly. Showing that this contest hadn't just come along randomly. This has been brewing for a good while as you'd expect between two proud women who take their business serious.
In the backstage area where the media does interviews with the main event level stars before they head off to go get ready in their changing rooms. Both Millie and Emma walked into the area a few feet apart. Millie wearing a white blouse, blue jeans and black heels. Emma wearing a black leather jacket over a white T-shirt, black jeans and her own black heels.
Millie is asked her feelings towards Emma, she replies "honestly I thought at one time that Emma was cool. That we'd be friends till I actually met her. The old saying don't meet your heroes certainly applies to her." Shaking her head clearly remembering previous times they had met before now.
While Emma says to the journalist in front of her "Millie is great and all but she'll never be on my level. Look at her acting career, she thinks she has made it off one hit show. Come back to me when she is in a legendary film series. Come back to me when she is a hall of famer like me. She is a bad copy of me as Hollywood has tried to replicate my success with anyone they can drag out of acting school too soon."
It's not long before both catch a glimpse of each other with a few fighters between them. Emma walks around the other fighters as her stable media handler tries to keep her in the set queue for these questions. Millie hasn't noticed Emma is moving towards her as she says "I am going to enjoy knocking her out cold. I've been begging for this fight for a good year since I met her."
Then Millie is interrupted with "oh really? Well I am here now you disrespectful tramp." Making Millie turn around. Both women staring daggers at each other before instinctively they charge each other. Heels come off as hair is yanked. Camera flash the catfight between them as they shake heads and bump bodies. Some of the other women on the card cheer on their favourite. With the main event stars Vanessa Hudgens cheering on her stable mate Millie. While Natalie Portman isn't friends with Emma, she is backing her against the youngster.
Security manages to drag them apart. Spitting insults at each other as both stables media managers must be worried they are going to be looking for new jobs come tomorrow morning. The girls calm down enough to grab their heels. Emma telling Millie "let's see if you talk big in the ring, won't be no security dragging me off you in that ring till I knock you out!"
Millie shakes her head and replies "same for you Emma. Only one of us is walking out with our pride and honestly, you are washed up to me. I am going to enjoy posing over you as you wonder where Harry (Potter) and Ron (Weasley) are." Showing this is a proper grudge fight between these two British stars.
Fighting time! First to come through the curtain is Millie with her coach Julie Benz. Millie looks focused as she walks down the aisle with her fists clenched. She climbs into the ring with her eyes locked onto the entrance ramp as she wears a navy blue sports bra, matching trunks, shoes and gloves, hair tied into a ponytail.
Out comes Emma now with Steve Boyd working her corner. Emma taps her black gloves together as she stares with a laser focus straight ahead. Emma climbs into the ring wearing a white sports bra with three thin black stripes down each side, matching trunks, white shoes and her hair is in a ponytail too. Emma nods to Steve that she has got this.
The fighters walk to the middle of the ring with Emma telling Millie "I am going to enjoy dismantling you." Millie just smirks in response, clearly hoping her actions will speak the loudest. Neither touches the others gloves when prompted by the referee. Instead they walk back to their corners. Once ready the bell rings to start 10 rounds of flyweight action.
Round 1:
Both coming out exchanging stiff shots right away. Emma clearly wanting to make Millie respect her as they land through the others mitts. Millie slips a jab to land a right cross to the face of Emma to push her back a step.
Into the second minute Millie lands a jab into the forehead of Emma to make her stumble back a step. MILLIE COMES AFTER HER WITH A LEFT CROSS FOLLOWED BY A RIGHT HOOK LANDING FLUSH TO SEND WATSON ONTO HER BUM!
Millie walks straight over to the neutral corner as the crowd look stunned to see Emma down already! 1....2....3.... Emma punches the canvas with her left glove. 4....5....6... Emma pushes up to her feet as she doesn't look really hurt, more humiliated to have been put down.
The referee waves them to fight on with Emma getting behind her jab and moving. Millie showing a bit of the risks of youth as she comes at her rival to try to finish it already. Instead Emma is able to hold off the bigger shots coming her way till the bell comes to an end. Millie has her fans on their feet cheering her as she returns to her corner. Emma curses under her breath.
Round 2:
Confidence flowing through the younger woman as she is landing some crisp combinations into the cheeks of Emma. Who looks a little thrown off by how quickly Brown has gotten into her rhthym. Emma having to use her footwork to keep from being pinned down.
Back comes Emma after ducking under a straight to land a few solid body shots to make her opponent groan. Millie steps back and catches Emma with a short left hook to the cheek of the Harry Potter star. They trade around the middle of the ring as Emma tries to get to grips with her foe.
Late in the round Millie catches Emma with a straight near her left eye. That makes Emma shell up as her rival turns to working her flanks with hooks. At the bell Millie smiles as she returns to her corner, this has to be a more impressive star then the Lookout! Corner could have imagined. Watson meanwhile is being told by Steve to take a deep breath to cool off and refocus herself.
Round 3:
Fencing contest now between the two as they exchange around the center of the ring. Emma crouching down at times to work the torso of her opponent. Millie looks supremely relaxed as she lands around the top of her opponents head.
But Emma shows off her skills with a few feints before she slips a jab. Emma coming over the top with an overhand right that lands around the temple of Millie. Who now finds herself being driven back onto her heels. Emma switching up her targets to make it hard for her rival to defend herself.
Millie has to push off Emma. Both trading hard combos but it's Emma dictating the pace better by keeping her opponent towards the ropes. Duelling chants ringing out as they exchange in close range. The bell dings with both intensely at each other before walking back to their corners. Emma finally showing a glimpse of what makes her a truly elite fighter.
Round 4:
Looking to grab control of the action as they land flurries of punches at each other. A double jab from Millie allows her to start pushing back Emma to the outside of the ring. Emma holds onto Millie's right arm to slow her down, showing she is willing to rough up the youngster. Referee warns Emma when she is using her free hand to punch Millie around the side of her head.
Millie is looking pissed off and a few mistakes are coming in from Brown. A straight right counter lands square onto the nose of Millie to back her up. Emma now showing her teeth with some hard hooks to drive Millie to the ropes. Millie covers up tight as Watson is throwing the kitchen sink at her.
After grabbing hold of Emma to force the referee to break them up. Millie is boxing more on the back foot as Emma is keeping the pressure on her. The round comes to a close with Emma turning this fight around to most pundits. Millie not so confident now as she sits on her stool looking over at Emma with a look that says "where did this come from?"
Round 5:
Resuming with eyes locked behind their gloves. Emma stabbing more punches into the chest of Millie to get under the skin of her young foe. Millie coming at Emma with a few more hooks flying in. Not all land though as the veteran is slipping punches to land counter punches.
After the opening minute, Emma crouches under a left hook to land a right hook into the ribs of Millie. Emma has Millie backing off her. LEFT HOOK CRASHES ON THE CHIN OF MILLIE TO PUT HER DOWN ONTO HER LEFT KNEE!
Emma walks over to the neutral corner as her fans are in full voice. 1....2....3... Millie shakes her head to clear some cobwebs from it. 4....5....6... Millie looks at the referee's count. 7....8... She pushes up to her feet. Fists raised as she assures the referee she is ok.
Back at it they go with punches being traded as Emma looks to push back Millie. Who is showing that she is still in the fighting mood. Both nearly clash bodies at time stepping in with their punches. The round comes to an end with Millie swearing to herself as she returns to her stool. Emma meanwhile has her name being chanted by her fans.
Round 6:
Understandably Emma is coming out aggressive early to try to keep the heat on Millie. Who is using her jab to try to hold off Emma. As they get near the end of the opening minute, Emma steps into a straight on her nose that stops her in her tracks, left hook to the temple buckles her knees.
Now it's Millie going up a gear as Emma looks hurt. Punches rocking back the head of the Vixens fighter to send sweat flying. A cut forms on the bridge of Emma's nose. She grabs hold of Millie to stop her momentum. The referee breaks them up with Emma being taunted to bring it on.
Around the ring goes Emma throwing mostly single punches back as she looks to clear her head. Millie bullying her around the ring till the round comes to a close. Millie getting wiped down as she smiles. Emma meanwhile looks a little dejected. Getting told by Steve to show the fighting spirit that has made her a world champion in her own career.
Round 7:
Millie is now the one pushing the pace as Emma gets hit around her nose. Emma landing a few solid shots off her back foot as Millie opens up more looking to end things now. Both can be heard groaning when they stand to trade with sweat flying off them.
Pushing Emma to the ropes. Millie lands a few power shots that twist the head of Watson, who holds onto Brown to force the referee to get involved as both land rabbit punches to the back of each others head. When they resume Emma coming back at Millie with a crisp jab/straight combo to her face.
They box in close as both hand sweat coating them. The crowd is electric cheering them on. Millie gritting her mouthpiece as she can't seem to get Emma under total control. The bell dings to end proceedings. Emma gets cleaned up as she sits on her stool. Millie meanwhile looks annoyed even as she is winning on most pundits cards.
Round 8:
Pushing off their stools with the crowd roaring them on. Millie trying to subdue Emma early. Emma though is moving her upper body more to dodge and strike back. Both bump shoulders when they are fighting in tight.
An uppercut snaps back the head of Millie now as her legs show a hint of shake. Emma smacking back Millie into a neutral corner with hard hooks as now it's Millie whose hurting. Needing to hang onto Emma to stop her assault. The referee breaks them up as they share a few unfriendly words.
Less then a minute to go, Millie trying to hold off Emma as they box around the ring. Emma uses a few feints before dipping under a straight to land a right hook to the chin of Millie to make her stumble back two steps. EMMA FOLLOWS WITH A LEFT HOOK TO THE CHIN TO SEND MILLIE TUMBLING TO HER BACK!
Emma looks at Millie before walking over to the neutral corner, leaning against the turnbuckles. 1....2....3... Millie groans as her eyes are shut. 4....5... Millie puts her right glove over her face. 6....7....8... Millie isn't moving any more. 9....10 that's it for this bout as Millie is counted out!
Winner Emma Watson KO Round 8
After:
Emma was made to work for this one as she raises her right arm in victory. She walks back to her corner to be met with a warm embrace from Steve. Who tells her "that's why you are a great in this ring." It was far from simple for her though as she has to sit on stool to be wiped down and get a drink of water.
While Millie has to be checked over by the ringside doctor and Julie. She sits up after about a minute with Julie telling her "you did great but tonight is a learning experience" making Millie nod. She is helped to her feet and over to her stool to recover more.
Once Emma is recovered she heads to the middle of the ring as gets her right arm raised in victory. She turns to Millie and tells her as Millie is still on her stool "you'll never be able to replace me Millie. You haven't got the heart I do." Millie pulls herself to her feet. Looking furious but not in good enough shape to go after Emma.
Instead Julie herds Millie to the ropes and tells her to leave the ring. Julie telling Emma "next time you won't be lucky." Emma grinning as she shakes her head. Clearly this is far from over between these two proud British actresses.
Emma meanwhile points at herself and says to the nearest camera "no one is going to do what I can. These young lionesses are not taking my spot." Getting her name chanted as she goes on a lap of honour before she steps out the ring. Emma continues to be one of the best in the division. |
