BEFORE: BBU Euro Boxing tournament moves to Gelsenkirchen where former Sirens member Clara Alonso tries to roll back the tape against the highly-touted Italian Alessia Uva who needs a bounce back result after she got mauled by Shannon Singh back in February. Clara remains a bit of a mystery after a couple of years away even though some pundits claim she's reached the high-water mark of her career already and Uva is the runaway favorite. The bookies kinda agree with that but it's anyone's guess if the younger model actually keeps it strictly business and all bets are off when it comes to Mediterranean temper clashing horns in the ring anyway.
Clara Alonso wears a white bikini set & navy blue gloves. Long dark brown hair tied in a sleek ponytail. Alessia Uva wears a pink bikini set & silver gloves. Long black hair tied in a custom ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.
Round 1:
Clara cuts an impressive figure from the opening bell like she's never been away and gives the Italian model a hard slugging lesson which raises the early noise around the arena. Alessia matches the fellow brunette's initial intensity but then eats a left hook on the jaw that spins her to the side and allows the Spanish woman to add more leather up the middle. Alessia soaks up more hits to the body and stumbles onto the ropes where she has to work the overhand response from behind the guard and while she knocks in a couple of good punches, she can't quite shake the older model for the remainder of the round and remains stuck in inferior position while Alonso adds the bonus points in the process.
Round 2:
Alessia fires back to connect with an uppercut drive but Clara withstands the early barrage and swings back to smack more leather into Uva's face which quickly becomes the regular theme in this round as well. Alessia is determined to throw Clara off her rhythm but it's easier said than done and the Spanish model matches up well to her opponent before a quick clash of heads leaves her fuming otherwise. She drops another harpoon series to the body however Alessia spins away into mid-distance and works the overhand response which finally dissects the Spanish high-guard and leaves the buxom Italian on top come the final minute. Alonso barks in anger when she gets flushed out towards the turnbuckle and has to use her wheels to avoid a genuine trap with Alessia just missing on a piledriver combo in the closing seconds of the round.
Round 3:
More slugging action in the center of the ring where Alessia manages to outwork the fellow brunette to the tune of some hard head shots but Clara refuses to back off and drops a couple of low hits to make further progress thumping the Italian to the body. Alessia doesn't seem bothered by these efforts until Clara sticks a stray elbow into the breasts and connects with a vicious uppercut on the chin that triggers a back & forth tangle in the center of the ring. Alonso gets the better of that exchange as she rattles Uva with more precise head shots but the Italian woman wants to stay in the slugging lane regardless and pinches a low shot on the groin that makes the Spaniard visibly upset as both women continue to trade punches into the final minute and have to be separated by the referee at the bell.
Round 4:
Alessia cracks a double on the chin to open the fourth and moves in to deliver more chin shots thereafter before Clara whacks her with a right hook on the nose and tears a small gash across the ridge. Ugh! Alessia loses her temper once she realizes what just happened and tries to maul Alonso back to the gate however Clara avoids getting laced with more than a single shot in return and uses some nifty footwork to suck Uva into a booming right hand that nails her on the nose and wobbles into another uppercut blast that lifts her breasts and drops her into loud spasms before too long. Ugh! The proud Italian didn't see that switch coming while Clara turns up the screw and pounds away in fury almost spilling her opponent's mounds into the open before a late clinch helps Alessia to limit the damage... or not since Clara shakes her off and nails with another brutal uppercut on the jaw right at the bell so the Italian model walks back to her corner on visibly soft legs soon afterwards.
Round 5:
Alessia tries to force the slugging issue but she gets picked off by a very confident opponent now and Clara just carves more lumps on the Italian's face to grind her down during a rather one-sided opening minute. Alessia finally realizes she needs to bide her time here but Alonso doesn't give her that luxury and keeps blasting her from both flanks until she shuts her down in the corner and moves in to punish the exposed midriff as well. Ugh! Uva tries to clinch the Spanish model but doesn't really find the required strenght and gets whacked with more body harpoons that sink her into loud spasms come the bell and the Gelsenkirchen crowd is somewhat stunned by this sight.
Round 6:
Clara takes full advantage of Alessia looking worn out here and thumps her in the jugs before a proper shot on the solar plexus makes the Italian model scowl in pain outright. A wild hooking response misses high and wide while Clara nicks in a chin-checker double and SMOKES the ailing rival with a right hand on the ear which finally pulls the plug on Uva's resistance. DOWN SHE GOES!!! Clara is ready to plant her foot on the fallen woman's chest as Alessia cuts a rather ominous spread eagle pose and she's unable to beat the slowish count in due order which triggers a wild reaction in the Spanish corner moment later. KO6 Clara Alonso!!!
AFTER: There are some stunned faces around the Schalke Arena but Clara really earned that victory tonight and vows to remind everyone she can still crash anyone's party despite being in her mid 30s. Meanwhile it's another bitter pill to swallow for the Milan-based Alessia who celebrates her 25th birthday next week and this is the last thing her confidence needed - a KO loss to an older free agent out of fight shape. Ouch. The only positive thing for the Italian crew is they plenty of names to choose from as they prepare for the high-profile clash against Croatian Ivana Knoll next week!
