ALICE EVE VS RACHEL MCADAMS

Alice: 42 YO, 5’5 ¼ (1,66 m), FCBA: 5-9-0, 5 KO since 2013. Lookout Atlantic Boxing

Rachel: 45 YO, 5’4 (1.63 m), 61-51-0, 38 KO since 2005. Foxfire Boxing

Before: “I finding my way as Cougar boxer and this is part of that.” Rachel McAdams says at the prefight press event. “Besides, it gives me the chance to fight opponents I missed in my younger days. Now, Alice Eve may not good record in the FCBA, but anyone who follows the BBU knows how good her record over there is. So I see her as a very worthy opponent. I am really looking forward to this.”

For her part Alice Eve nods: “I certainly am a worthy opponent. I think she is worthy for me, too. I haven’t gotten over here often, so this an exciting chance to fight someone I thought I never to get to box. I thank Rachel for that and I’ll be looking forward to the fight, too.”

When the fans next see them, Alice Eve and Rachel McAdams are facing each other in the ring. Alice is in a black one piece swimsuit with white gloves and boots (black laces). Hair in a battle braid.. Rachel is in her trademark red and black one piece swimsuit with red gloves and boots (blXK laces), hair pulled back in a battle braid. Both look impatient to get going as they had toi listen to the referee’s instructions. That finally over, they quickly tap gloves and head for their corners. More waiting. Then, at last, the bell rings.

R1: Opening round sees Rachel Mac treating Alice E to quick series of jabs to the face and then rights and lefts to the jaw. Alice drops back, regroups and, as Rachel moves back in on her, greets the Foxfire veteran with a stinging facial jab barrage. Now it is Rachel who is moving back to regroup. Alice now going to the sides of Rachel’s head with bellringers that send Rachel ducking backwards again. However as Alice in giving chase, Rachel strikes back with solid uppercuts to the chin that stall Alice’s advance. Alice tries to come in to the body, but gets punched back by rib shots from Rachel. The two are circling and looking for openings as the round ends. It was a close one, but the judges find it was Rachel McAdams who won the round by a close margin.

R2: Bell sounds and the fighters move out of their corners swiftly. Rachel swinging first, digs a solid hook into Alice’s midsection, but Alice comes gave with a mouth wiping right across Rachel’s lips. Then a left smacks Rachel hard to the chin and she falls back with her gloves up around her head. Alice goes to the body with volley after volley of hooks. Rachel tipped forward, grimacing from the bombs to her belly, but she swings back into Alice’s abs. Fierce exchange as they circle and counter-circle, most of these blows going to the body. Then Alice is able to sneak in a clouting right to the forehead that sends a shockwave through Rachel’s body. She lurches back with the gloves up high. Alice driving one hook after the other into Rachel;s robin cage as the round ends. Alice Eve wins a close round.

R3: Rachel McAdams again out aggressively and going for Alice Eve’s head. Alice ducking and dodging most of these, but enough do land to shake her up. Alice falling back and Rachel goes after her. Alice suddenly veers to one side and comes back at Rachel swinging for her head. Alice scores with a hard right to the jaw that brings Rachel to stunned halt. Then Alice swiftly goes after Rachel to the chin with a storm of lightning bolt uppercuts. Rachel’s head looking like a bobble head doll as it bounces up and down. THEN RACHEL CRUMBLES STRAIGHT DOWN! Alice looks down in surprise as she sees Rachel McAdams in a heap at her boot toes. Alice makes a hasty exit for the neutral corner as the referee moves in. However Rachel is already shaking off the blows and trying to sit up. She then pulls herself together and gets back to her feet just as the referee reaches “EIGHT!” The referee checks Rachel over and then waves Alice back in. Rachel takes no chances and just covers up and protects herself from a finishing blow. Alice pounding Rachel’s side ribs in evident hope of doing some damage she can build on later. Bell sounds. Alice Eve has a knockdown and she won the round wide.

R4: Alice Eve now the aggressive one early. She is across the ring fast and nearly catches Rachel McAdams before she can clear her own corner. Alice unleashes to the head, but Rachel gives it right back to Alice’s head and they battle it out as they move towards the center of the ring. Rachel now trying to drive Alice back with body shots, but Alice able to get at Rachel’s jaw and chin with enough punches to force her back. Alice moves forward. She takes care to work those side ribs and she is making Rachel cringe from these blows. Rachel still punching back and Alice has to dig in against her. Finally, she is able to push Rachel back as the round comes to a close. Alice Eve wins the round close.

R5: Both fighters are out quickly this round and they get into fast punching battle across the middle of the ring. Alice lands to the head and stomach and so is able to push Rachel back, but then Rachel catches with smashing lefts and rights to the jaw. Alice lurching back on suddenly trembling legs. Rachel keeps up the pressure with alternating head and body shots, Alice struggles to get her defensive jab going but she is not able to hold Rachel off. Rachel gets her into ropes and starts in on Alice’s body. However time runs out and the bell sounds. Alice looks glassy-eyed leaving the ropes as Rachel marches to her corner. Rachel has won the round wide.

R6: The LAB corner crew works hard to get Alice out for the new round. She makes a big effort and moves forward at the bell with determination. Alice goes right at Rachel, trying to get at her to the head, Rachel bobbing and weaving to dodge these while striking back with her jab. Alice starts to slow down as the jabbing starts to lump up her face, Then Rachel goes after Alice to the abs and ribs with a rapid-fire series of hooks., Alice is bent forward and then Rachel brings rising punches up into Alice’s overhanging head. Alice staggers back and Rachel eludes Alice’s high guard to delivering a walloping right to the jaw. Alice starts to turn, her legs suddenly become entangled AND DOWN CRASHES ALICE EVE! Rachel hustles to the neutral corner and looks back. Referee is counting as Alice pushes herself to her knees and tries to stand, but loses her balance and falls onto her side. Alice gramely tries again, but she runs out of time.

“EIGHT!...NINE!...TEN!... YOU ARE OUT!” The referee calls.

Rachel lifts a weary right arm and smiles as her fans cheer wildly.

THE WINNER RACHEL MCADAMS DEFEATS ALICE EVE KO6!

After: Rachel heads over to shake Alice Eve’s hand and give her a hug. Later. Rachel speaks with the press: “It went pretty much as I hoped, though I wasn’t expecting that knockdown, but I wanted a tough opponent and I got one. I happy to win, but certainly wasn’t easy.”

Alice Eve says: :”I had my chance to beat her but I wasn’t able to finish her. That’s on me. Rachel is an excellent fighter and you can’t give them a second chance. I don’t if or when I’ll be back in the FCBA, but I would like to come back and get a win.”

Rachel McAdams looks to carving out a new place for herself in Cougar division. First with Jennifer Love Hewitt and now with Alice Eve. Where she goes from here is something that her fans are eager to here. As for Alice Eve, she looked like she could do well in Cougar boxing on this side of the Atlantic. What will come of that, fans can only wait and see.
