BEFORE:

Pair of Latin beauties looking for a win for different reasons. For blonde Karol, it's all about starting her career on the right foot, as this is her FCBA debut. "Obviously, I've been watching closely," Karol says with a smile. "And, I can compete at the top in this organization, as Camilla's about to find out."

The brunette, meanwhile, has had one winning year in the last three and is looking for her first victory in 2024, currently sitting at 0-2 on the current season. But, if any of that's affecting the Cuban's confidence, it's not evident pre-fight. "I'm better than she is, and I'm going to prove it tonight. It's that simple."

ROUND ONE:

First starts a bit slowly. Brunette well known for early aggression, and, figuring the Colombian is well prepared for that, Camila gets her box on...which is just fine with the athletic blonde. Karol's ALL about bouncin' and misbehavin', circling around the ring, snapping out that jab, stopping to pop here and there, but mostly staying in perpetual, smooth motion, inviting the aggressive younger woman to give chase. It's an invitation Camila wisely declines. Instead, she moves the feet, showing off her own athleticism, looks for spots to get off, gets the hands out and back quickly, then repeats as Karol continues her movement. At the bell, not a lot in it, but the blonde takes the points and the 10-9 lead.

ROUND TWO:

Remember that "boxing Camila" from the last round? Yeah, she's out of here. Right from the start of the second, the Cuban is forward aggressively, stepping in behind the left jab and backing up the Colombian beauty with hard right hands. Karol's getting caught flat-footed here as Camila's finding with that left, stopping the older woman, then following on with rights and getting the blonde going backward. Colombian's corner shouting for her to get moving, but their fighter in all sorts of a funk, as Cabello's getting the terms she wants and taking full advantage of them. When the bell rings, there's Camila's left no doubt. She has the points and has evened things at 19.

ROUND THREE:

The lovely Ms. G HEARS it in the corner, and she takes the advice to heart. She's right back on her bicycle, jabbing, circling, stopping just long enough to get a quick combination off, and then getting right back to movement. Camila trying to work forward, but she mostly can't locate with the jab, and attempts to bring Karol to battle are mostly ending with the Cuban getting a face full of leather. Camila has her moments, mind, and she lands a couple of good shots, but the round is mostly the Colombian ranging around the ring piling up points while Cabello piles up frustrations. At the bell, it's clear that Karol has claimed it wide and gone back into the lead, 29-28.

ROUND FOUR:

Cabello slows down to speed up. She was doing a lot of chasing in the third, but now she's, well. The brunette isn't exactly STALKING. It's more like trying to match footwork, create the correct angles, then get off in combina...BOOM! Right hand, CAMILA and KAROL IS HURT! Colombian all WOBBLY BUTT after a SCINTILLATING straight right and Cabello is pushing ALL the chips into the center. Brunette just WINGING punches at the retreating blonde, trapping her on the ropes and then HAVING AT HER TO THE BODY! Cuban HAMMERING at flanks and tummy, trying to bring the guard down. Karol crouching, hanging on desperately, makes it to the bell. But, when it rings, Camila's taken the round wide and we're even at 38.

ROUND FIVE:

Cabello charging across the ring to bang away at a still-wobbly Karol. The blonde gives ground willingly. She's looking to trade space for time here, but Camila having none of it. Cuban tossing everything she has in the larder at the Colombian, determined to get her out of there right now. Karol working to stay off the ropes, jabbing back in spo...BOOM! Right hand, Camila and DOWN GOES KAROL! A VERY well-placed right sends the blonde CRASHING to her back. Brunette quickly to a neutral corner as the referee counts down on the blonde. No movement at ALL from Karol, who remains, with eyes closed, on her back WELL past the count of ten. It's OVER! And your winner by KO5 is Camila Cabello!

AFTER:

Camila matter-of-fact in the post. She had no doubt she was getting her hand raised tonight, and she makes that clear. "She's nowhere NEAR in my league," the Cuban says with a smile. "I'm back on track now and aiming at the top of this division...so the girls in the Top Twenty need to be looking over their shoulders!"
