Maria Ozawa versus Sammi Hanratty

R1: Maria shows more life than her opponent in the first round, taking the initiative and ripping Hanratty’s fledgling guard in two. Ozawa’s aggression sees Sammi’s face take more shots than she’d like, and Ozawa takes the round wide, a smile clear and bright on her face at the end of the round.

R2: A sudden counterpunch tables the turns, Hanratty throwing Ozawa back and taking ratty nibbles from her health bar, needling a little bit of this and wheedling a little bit of that, gradually wearing her down over the course of a round; and though Maria sought to stem the tide, she stopped maybe one in four, and gave far worse than she received.
R3 and 4: Maria takes up the whittling game as well, and Hanratty comes out worse, for while the exchange is even, Maria’s are a little harder, thereby giving her the round by a thin margin. Round four goes the other way when Sammi puts a little more effort into her footwork. The lack of action makes the crowd restless, though, and their corners tell them not to keep this up.

R5: They listen to their corners, and abandon defense for slugging. Ozawa eats a wayward shot to the liver, the punch glancing off her arms, throwing it off its original course and preventing it from hitting its original target - her chest - and falls to the mat. She is unable to get up before the ten count, and Hanratty takes the match via KO5!
