Before: Special distaste between Crawford and Wrestling Valets in general—between she and Deb in particular. Cindy the establishment example of beauty, branding Deb as “trashy” in pre-fight—but McMichael’s undeniable appeal is real. Shields till balking at an all or nothing showdown. Crawford puts up a single belt to stay busy. Cindy in light blue cotton jockey 2 piece, Deb in pink halter top and pink boy cut stretch shorts.
During R1: Cindy extending the left to step around her opponent, but Deb with surprising handspeed chops a quick right hand onto Crawford’s cheek as the brunette pulls away. CINDY IS HURT! Deb chasing Cindy to the ropes with windmilling lefts and rights, puts the left hand on Cindy’s shoulder, muscular legs in a wide stance and PITCHES in right hand after right hands to Crawford’s shocked face, Cindy’s head snapping back, lolling forward—crowd in it’s feet as Deb pours it on and CINDY GOES OUT! Crawford seated on the ropes gets pounded into oblivion, goes limp, but keeps her position, allowing Deb to hammer away at the defenceless face with several more monster right hands until the ref finally jumps in. Crawford sprawling on the canvas—Deb leaping and yelling—it’s chaos as physicians flood the ring and McMichael is hoisted high. KO1 Deb McMichael.
After: Deb trying to get close to see if Cindy’s okay—but trainers are wise to her, refuse to allow her access for the post fight pin. Stunning collapse of Crawford fractures the big women’s division once again as Deb gets a piece. Deb the most dangerous finisher in boxing makes no mistake with Crawford hurt. In the days to follow—Crawford demands a rematch on Regis. Telling the camera, “You know you got lucky.”
