Before: “You’re only as old as you feel,” chirps a sunny Brinkley in prefight, “and I feel like kicking some Crawford patooty!” That’s the tenor of the things—Christie upbeat, not acting her age, she’s gaining a lot of believers with her positive demeanor and good momentum coming in. Contrast with a very serious Crawford—Cindy not enjoying the whole resurgence-of-Brinkley-popularity thing: “I’m the girl who retired this tramp in the first place!” CC whines. Crawford in pale blue princess cut cotton sports bra, hard working ponytail, navy boy cut trunks, Christy in long blonde battle braid, yellow sports bra, navy track trunks. Brinkley all grins during prefight instructions, bashes Cindy’s gloves WAY too hard for touch’em up, and near brawl delays the open.

During R1: Set piece, stand up boxing—Brinkley edging forward, jabbing Cindy hard to forehead and chest. Crawford also relying on the stick, giving ground as the blonde wants to make the fight—Brinkley the aggressor, Late going—Crawford getting scuffed up, backs to the ropes, closes her stance, then suddenly slings into a sneaky lead right counter, swiveling Brinkley’s head. Cindy spinning off the ropes, moving well for a big woman as Christie stumbles forward—blonde’s shook up, wonky kneed. Cindy at midring, feathers a jab, swats a wide decoy hook, shifts her hips and slings in a sidearm Lennox Lewis right cross haymaker and POLEAXES Brinkley on the jaw. Blonde down with a crash, hands above her head, single thread of blood from the right nostril as she is OUT on her back! KO1 Cindy Crawford in DEVASTATING fashion!

After: Crawford luxuriating in the blast out—takes a woozy Brinkley on a strutting walk of shame then ushers the blonde out of the ring so the party can get started. “They say I can’t punch,” grins Crawford, “that’s ‘cause I usually like to break a girl down, but Brinkley was giving me a lane so I took it, She’s really lost a lot—it’s more than just a step—when I was feeling her out early, I couldn’t believe how slow she was, Christie please baby, go back into retirement, I don’t want to have to hit you like that again.” Suddenly sexy Crawford with a lot of options, including a rumoured brunette grudge-match-super-fight with Ali Landry (non title), a unification bout with Schnarre or both. “I might make Monika fight Daisy to produce a worthwhile opponent while I get paid to batter Landry—I haven’t decided,” Crawford preens, clearly enjoying her new found status.
