Monica’s quietly clamping down on her domain, stringing together hardnosed victories, solving tricky opponents and fight her fight more often than not. Tonight was just such an occasion—Nikki was faster, cuter defensively and craftier in open space, but Bellucci whittled down the ring, but constant body on Nikki and banged out yet another methodical title defence.

Both girls would win 5 rounds, but all the hard punching was done by Bellucci whose relentless big-girl attack had Visser on the run all night long. Nikki would go down to a bludgeoning right hand in the first, take a knee in the second after a series of thudding hooks to her lungs and after that, Monica was the boss. Visser couldn’t back Bellucci up (regarded as one of the keys to victory over Bellucci), couldn’t hurt her, and in the end, couldn’t keep the champ outside. Nikki’s rounds were largely ho-hum affairs with Visser sprinting and clawing brisk combinations while Bellucci’s rounds saw savage body work, bullying rope tactics and mauling dominance at close quarters. If the body or head wasn’t there, Monica would slam away to the biceps and hips of her girl, giving Visser no respite. Not always pretty, but Monica’s getting it done the way big women are supposed to: walking cutey-pie counterparts down and smearing them into submission.
