Before: Paltrow gathering momentum—shocking upset over Jewel, a strong effort against favoured JLo—now Gwynny’s in with an old fan favourite to see how she handles a fading slugger. “Dunning definitely the right move at this point,” writes one reporter. “If Gwyneth can box, show some of that power she startled Jewel and Jlo with, she can be very competitive with Debbe,” Dunning obviously past her prime at this point, but still  one of the sport’s true warriors—she fights anywhere, anytime, anyone and is happy to see Gwenny P in the opposite corner. “I love that they think she’s ready for me,” grins the brunette. “This is going to be fun.” Pink “Shallow Hal” bikini and battle braid for Gwyneth—pink and white plaid print bikini Debbe, bra style and twist tie top, pigtails.

During R1: Gwyneth upright, stepping her jab in—Debbe hands low, timing it, shifting to her left and turning over the counter hooks simultaneously to Gwyn’s chin—Paltrow doesn’t like it. Sporadic collisions around the ring—girls punching at the same times, Debbe moving Gwyneth, walking her down, Midway through, Paltrow pawing the jaw, pawing the jab, loads up her right hands and GETS BEAT TO THE PUNCH! Debbe ROCKETING over Paltrow’s jab with a blistering right, gets ALL of Gwynny’s chin swiveling her head, sending that braid a-whipping and PALTROW’S DOWN! Gwynny stretched out pretty on her back, legs stiff, hands at her sides—she’s OUT COLD! Devastating KO1.

After: Paltrow distraught when she comes-to, woozy in her corner, Debbe magnanimous in victory, coming over to hug the shellshocked blonde, moving her away from the press, consoling her, but gradually guiding Gwyneth into THE WALK OF SHAME! Dawns on Gwynny what’s happening as Debbe bursts out laughing, now parading blonde with strong right arm around the waist—welcome to the FCBA Gwyneth Paltrow! Fresh tears for G as she straggles along—clearly the most humiliating moment of her entire charmed life.
