PARTIAL REPORT
Kate in crimson bikini, wet hair
Charisma in navy bikini, sporty scoop front, bra straps
UD10 Beckinsale by a single point.
If you like tidy, efficient work on the inside, cute little shoulder and elbow pushes to make room and devastating body punches, you had to love this effort from Carpenter and Beckinsale. Toe to toe slugfest proved two things: Charisma’s getting her act together and the “Bristol Hard-Woman” Beckinsale is no joke.
Kate’s got a nasty, chopping right hand she throws with her body behind it and a murderous double left hook she can rake to head and body, and for the first three rounds, she used these weapons to batter Charisma senseless. Carpenter showed her veteran defensive technique—right hand at her cheek, left across her gut, turning and bending her torso to slip the heat, but energetic Beckinsale wouldn’t be denied. Pouring herself at Carpenter—Kate fought with bared-teeth aggression, roasting Charisma’s flanks and back, tearing up her belly and going jug with a frightful, jagged punching delivery. CC was wobbled, CC was bludgeoned, but in the fourth, CC started fighting back.
As Beckinsale’s fury ebbed, Carpenter started getting little things on her foe. A cute little push behind the elbow, turning the Brit off balance, Sweaty reaching under Kate’s arms to chest her back into the ropes. Nifty sidesteps, a sneaky snapping jab off the hip, occasional boxing from the outside just to change up, Carpenter starting to nail slick counter hooks as she tilted onto her back foot, clouting short rights as she edged forward and crowd-pleasing uppies in tight, In the fifth, a dazed and disbelieving Beckinsale wilted to her hands and knees gutshot—courtesy a slicing, swatting burst of tidy lefts and rights amidships, And Charisma’s legs were back—she poured it on to take the 5th, then the 6thm but just as she herself had done, Kate found the heart to turn this thing around.
The final three heats were pure pulse-pounding entertainment as two badly battered bodies went at each other without mercy. Kate had the extra energy, so she initiated the exchanges, chopping and jamming out her punches, beating Charisma’s torso, arms—anything available. Carpenter was more measured, labouring slightly, but crafty along the ropes, fitting well timed counters into Kate’s chin, depositing hooks and slutty rights into Beckinsale’s straining sternum, trying to make up for Kate’s volume and ferocity with placement and guilt.
In the end, Kate Beckinsale just wouldn’t be denied—she kept mauling Charisma at the ropes, laying on her, shoving up on her, constantly moving her hands—to the judges, Carpenter was increasingly looking the cagey veteran in survival mode, as indeed she was at the final bell. A solid, hard working effort from Beck, and a much better outing for Carpenter, who rinses the bad taste of the Pratt bout from her teeth with this one.
