UD10 wide (9 rounds to 1) “Big Nasty” Nat Henstridge

Karen Cliché can fight. She’s tall, well built, hardnosed, well schooled and sturdy-chinned—she know her way around a boxing ring. But Natasha tore down Karen Cliché brick by brick in this fight putting on a relentless display of patient, long-armed abuse that must certainly have take its place amongst the most one-sided of the year thus far.

Henny’s not known for pretty footwork, and she didn’t show ant in this tussle, but she did present a skull-jarring jab that had Cliché backpedalling all night long, allowing the blonde to dictate terms and walk her opponent down,. Karen boxed resolutely enough, trying to turn Natasha, keep her off with her own jab, but not once was Cliché able to get her weight moving into a determined punch to hurt Big Nasty—all of the power, all of the aggression was blonde tonight, and those tactical realities sealed the brunette’s fate very early on. But as effective as Nat was in shaping the fight from the outside, it was her brutal painstaking body work that left fans tingling in their seats, and chattering with excitement long after the fight was won.

Round after round, Natasha made sure she went to the breadbasket of Karen, and not with hustling, pretty combinations, but with a kind of swinging lumberjack approach that had Cliché stooped and cramped up in shock during each assault. Big Nasty would set her feet, ride her left arm around Karen’s shoulders—Karen draping her right around Nat’s waist—and the blonde would simply plow home right hands as hard to the body as she possibly could. It was like movie choreography—poor Karen with stiff with hurt, not punching back, just standing there to soak it—Nasty plugging home the wallop. Bodying up to steady Cliche against the ropes and reset her for more—only  exhausted Karen clinches could stop the singleminded destruction of her breadbasket/

By the sixth round, the constant jackhammering punishment added up in Cliché’s long legs and tired eyes—she was a slouching, wilting parody of the proud vixen who had begin the fight, just willing herself to go on, and the final half of this fight was sickening to all but the most meanspirited fan, The sixth itself was a savage, one-sided mauling along the ropes, with Henny  what she wanted of Karen’s middle, then palming her up and beating her face unrecognizable with gobsmacking lefts and rights. In the subsequent rounds, Karen wandered and staggered, guard limp and porous, eyes cloudy with hurt—she took blows bravely, but not well, as Henny rode her girl down without mercy. That this fight went 10 is a testament to the fighting spirit and pride of Cliché. That it was allowed to go to 10 is a black eye for the FCBA and its so-called professional referee and officials whose policy of “letting the fighters settle the fights” was exposed as a hollow, hardhearted sham tonight.
