BEFORE: "Training the kids on-set of Vampire Diaries made me realize I still have the fire," Kelly says of her long layoff. "I'm fresh and rested - ready to retake my throne. Dani was always easy to hit: I've given her some of the worst beatings of her career. I'll pick her apart, tear her up: it'll be just like old times!" Fishel struggling in her own comeback - is fighting one of boxing's slickest sorceresses a good idea? "It's ALWAYS a good idea to fight Kelly Hu!" Upbeat Dani asserts in prefight. "She's treated me shabby at times, but what she forgot to mention is that I did a lot to hammer her into retirement as well. She's no spring chicken anymore: I'm gonna GET to Kelly Hu - and when I do - we're definitely gonna find out what she's got left!" Kelly in tan suede western-motif bikini with fringes; short suede boxing moccasins with tassles; black gloves; hair in boxer's bun with ringlets framing face. Dani in purple bikini; black shoes with white socks rolled down; black gloves; dark-chocolate brown hair in lush loose curls - very dark tanned skin. Kelly fighting in the low 120s - Dani allows it.

During R1: Kelly in wide stance - left hand dangling; left shoulder pointed at Dani; right cocked at chest. Kel jotting straight right leads - shifting weight to right (back) leg to pull across swiping hooks, then sliding back or to either side. She's flat footed, but supple/slinky - giving Dani angles. Takes Fishel 2 minutes close distance: eventually Dani carves palm-down rights and lefts to Kelly's ribcage, scattering Hu in retreat.

R2: Kelly working the same routine...a few up-jabs off the hip; spicy lead rights; fade-away left hooks swept across Dani's front. Midway through, Dani launches overhand right: Kelly rolls it with her left shoulder - answers back a biting fish-hook right uppercut to chin and DANI'S DOWN! Picked up and dropped to all fours: Fishel's up quickly, sputtering and blinking...Kelly stalking neutral corner all flat-eyed glares. Dani slapping her palms against her face as ref's giving her standing 8: she's moving forward upon resumption.

R3: Kelly fading to ropes: she's relying a lot more on supple torso-weaves and rolls than her legs at this point. Dani closes, fights off Kelly's presented left shoulder: Fishel settling into slugger's rhythm as Kelly defends the pocket. Hu punished: Dani grinding her with clubbing blows upside the head; on both arms; against jugs/ribs/tummy. Hu riding her left hand in behind Dani's head, tugging it down: Kelly grimacing, not doing a lot of punching in reprisal.

R4: Same again: Kelly fades to ropes, frowning; Dani closes, sets up brawny. Fishel beats at Kelly hips-to-head: Dani pushing and knuckling; bumping shoulders; grinding in with her forehead to smear Kelly at ropes. Hu holding - using that left to pull down Dani's head; using the right to pull in behind Dani's left elbow. Fishel working hard to wrench her arms free, stay in position, and keep suffocating pressure applied.

R5: Kelly doing some stuff: off the ropes, she'll lean into Dani, wrapping both arms around Dani's left, tugging her forward and sidestepping her. Fishel yanked out of position and reversed - but she's quickly back at Kelly - chasing her across the ring to lay siege on the far ropes. Hu mouthbreathing, scowling: she's getting hit a LOT more than we're used to seeing, despite good torso and head movement. Down the stretch, relentless Fishel pressure proves too much: grimacing Kelly eases herself to right knee for a breather. Grins-n'-dimples for Dani as she gets the knockdown back.

R6: Kelly trying to tug-and-sidestep - being very grabby/pushy with Dani. Fishel just boring through it - constantly seeking to put her head on Kelly's collar-bone: Hu eventually railroaded to ropes and punished. Kelly's face pinched with stress: she's tying up head-and-arm - slapping back the odd counter - flurrying the odd shoe-shine off the ropes. Fishel scrubbed in spots, but unfazed: she's pounding her foe, landing the harder shots. Down the stretch - Dani rips Kelly a hook out of the crouch: Hu drapes back upright against ropes, momentarily stunned. Fishel's able to rip a withering left hook to Kelly's liver, doubling her forward hurrrrt at bell.

R7: Dani atop Kelly, reducing her at ropes. Hu baring her teeth, shoe-shining Dani's jugs with side to side scrub, or buffetting her ears: Fishel rubbed and slapped, but too stocky to be moved by this stuff. Dani banging back in reprisal - humbling Kelly's jugs/hook-hooking her ribs/pushing and bumping on her. Kelly's a tired exotic...always looking to tie up or work a tug-and-spin on Dani's left arm...Fishel just walking Kelly down and making her hurt.

R8: Kelly fades to ropes, but actively looking to counter now: with left hand behind Dani's head, she's also holding-and-hitting much more. Fishel's output drops...she's getting to Kelly's chest, but getting cuffed and swatted: Hu able to chop away, then tie up for ref's breaks. Kelly staying on ropes, eyes narrowed: she's walking Dani in, swiping at her, covering up on either side to absorb, then rolling into fresh punches as Dani catches licks. Sweet, supple stuff: Kelly flat-footed, fighting Britney-style off the ropes, does a good job of vexing Dani for points here.

R9: Kelly in the pocket - leaning left shoulder into Dani to nudge her back; leaning back into ropes to swat and chop her shots; covering up/rolling to slip, then she's back at Dani with fresh swiping. Kelly cuff-cuffing her left hand Dani's paunch. Kelly swishing mitts back and forth across Dani's jugs. Kelly clipping right uppercuts underneath Dani's chin, then quickly tying her up. Fishel bamboozled - pressing in the whole time, but getting picked up, touched up, torn up. Both women busting up nicely through 9: Dani's work done in the mid-rounds; Kelly's bookending early and late.

R10: Kelly draws Dani in - cuffing and chipping her, then riding left hand behind Fishel's head to pull her into clinch. Again and again, Dani stumbles forward - chipped/cuffed/swatted/swiped/slapped, then held for ref's breaks. Fishel grumpy, sluggish: she's getting caught too many shots - finding it hard to smother slippery Kelly. Hu working the pocket to perfection - laying on the ropes, holding and hitting, getting clever touches...Kelly puts Dani wobbly butt - chops her a right hand late across the mouth as ref's moving in. Comes back UD10 DRAW as future hall of famers get re-acquainted.

After: Both girls stymied: Kelly's mobile attack fading quickly, committing her to a grinding pocket-defence at ropes very reminiscent of Britney or late-stage Charisma...Hu in her forties looks to be taking a lot more punishment, and being cute off the ropes. Fishel with terrific pressure had the fight going her way...sorceress Hu able to turn the tables late and eke out the draw to save face.
