Before: Tyler coming off her first significant loss, selects a vintage name to get over on. Swanson out of the ring for an extended period--at her best she’s a busy, heavy handed body puncher, almost the polar opposite of the extremely choosy, head hunter Tyler who makes a living off the sudden KO. Styles decisive in  this match--neither girl can make a living on the other’s terms--whoever takes charge just might do a lot of damage tonight. Liv in Spanish ponytail, royal string bikini, Swanson in pale blue string bikini, short blonde tousle.

During R1: Liv showing she’s trying to diversity her game, right hand under her chin, but pawing with a little jab in an effort to set up her power. Swanson getting touched on the face as she comes in, but she’s able to work--wading in flat footed, lifting underhand blows up into the belly, heavy into the sides. Down the stretch--Liv takes advantage of the Swanson tendency to lean in while working downstairs--Tyler able to arch her back and clip little right uppercuts off the outstretched chin as Kristy gobbles late. Round to Tyler.

R2: Swanny not discouraged, jumps right back in--she’s happiest when she can touch up with her shoulder on Liv and lug leather up underneath the redhead’s ribcage. Tyler showing her own self-destructive tendency--laying in, not moving her hands, trying to tie up Kristy’s dangling left arm while Swanson’s punishing right takes its toll. Down the stretch, Tyler wobbly butt as Swanson just gets off with jerking right uppercuts in close--Kristy with her left hand at her side, just getting her legs and torso in behind a punishing series of rights at the bell. Glassy eyed Liv looks cheapened--Swanny with an angry snarl into Tyler’s ear--she cuffs Tyler’s butt cheek with an insolent right to send the redhead back to her corner.

R3: Swanson up and at’em--gets right back on and crowds Liv up against the ropes. Tyler helpless with Kristy on her chest--Swanson lathering away to the waist, keeping her head on Liv, using her shoulders and forearms inside to push Tyler’s hips out for punching room, then slinging loose limbed power licks to the belly and around the hips to the back. Tyler in total collapse--she falters to the ropes--unable to push Swanson off, unable to punch--she slides along the ropes as a heartless Kristy Swanson steps with her, bouncing her fists hard off Liv’s body. End of the first minute--Tyler folded into the ropes, reaching weakly around Kristy’s shoulders, but the blonde’s punching through it, just steadily keeping up the punishment as Liv wilts. AND THE REF JUMPS IN! Kristy Swanson bellows and pumps her fists to a surprised crowd as Liv Tyler slumps hollow-eyed in the ref’s arms--TKO3 Kristy Swanson.

After: Ref just seeing enough back from a listless Liv Tyler--redhead complains about the juicy stoppage, but you can’t lay on the ropes and take a beating and expect to get the benefit of the doubt. Great swabbing performance from Kristy Swanson--she showed up tough, fought her fight, and might have brought a little punk out of Liv tonight.
