I’m having trouble with my eyes-taking it easy for the next few days to see if it clears up--but I’ll probably do a few write-ups this weekend. don’t have anything planned--as a memory serves--Zeta Jones/Marceau is out there, Meyer/Larue--I haven’t read the board yet, but I see some headlines that may suggest other bouts.
As a note to myself--I’ll look under this thread for new names to launch (just so I know where to go). Kristy Allen, Rachel Blakely, Joan Chen, Kate Hodge, Eva Haberman--if you want to just repost a reply with names here, I’ll have it all in one place.
Joan Chen makes a good case study. I matched her 50-50 out of the gate to see if she had any magic--she got dumped. Then Liu wanted her--I hadn’t seen enough of Joan so I gave her a puncher’s chance an she got drilled. Couldn’t hold that against her, but this O’Dell fight was me giving Chen the benefit of the doubt--she had the match up and couldn’t deliver. In my mind, Chen’s becoming a journeywoman--without management persistence, the fighter could be looking at a future fighting only tough fights on short notice--the opponent’s role. She’s going to win some of those fights, but she might not be favored to do so. A manager can have a real effect by A.) requesting winnable fights or b) requesting continual fights against anybody--sooner or later enough positives emerge that the fighter can’t just be picked on. The interesting thing is to see how I haven’t “made” Chen into anything--she 0 and 3 on her own.
