Hannigan getting a little studio support, a training budget, a formal camp and a handpicked opponent to kick off her new theatrical release--Jessica spoils the party with her best performance since upsetting a distracted Britney Spears 3 years ago.

Hannigan’s idea to box and finesse Simpson was correct, but Jessica came in well prepared, getting brawny from the outset and rough-riding Aly into the ropes for raucous, even sloppy slugging action. Nothing pretty or technically noteworthy--Simpsy just getting underneath the taller girl, shoving her up, swinging lusty to the chest and tummy and badly rattling an overconfident redhead with heartfelt aggression. Working the shove and slug by riding her forearms against Alyson’s shoulders then heaving--Simpson simply piled on wide lefts and rights midway through the second, crashing through to the chin and stunning Hannigan long enough to get the ref’s attention. Pretty blonde leaves classy redhead in tears--Simpson lighting up the ring with that vacant smile in victory.
