Krakowski submits in her corner after 8

More than just a busy fight for two solid lights--both have a history of fighting cat bell tough, HBO looking to surface some names in the usual jostle-for positioning bout. Both women inactive of late, chances to pretty themselves up with a good performance and maybe get their names onto TE’s radar screen.

Krakowski elected to fight almost the entire bout with her back to the ropes Lawrence Cley-Bey style hands up loose, cupping Ashley ears, letting Judd get off at length then exploding with clipping, swatting squalls of counter-shots in spots. Judd proved the aggressor throughout, squaring up, staying close, ripping either hand to the pit of the paunch, digging a flat left hand into the ribs, and pounding away past the guard with hooks and uppercuts. With Jane not using her legs, the crowd was treated to a very high work rate--Judd getting off hard every few seconds, laying down a systematic beating and riding out Krakowski’s sudden outbursts as Jane tried to steal rounds with late flurries.

The strategy wouldn’t work for Krakowski tonight, She’s picked girls apart off the ropes before, but Judd’s body punching proved decisive, dropping Jane to her knees in the fourth, and crippling her from the 6th round on, Beaten into stupor--Jane Krakowski was a portrait of dejection, slumped on her stool, head forward, not looking up at the ref as she mumbled her submission after 8 rugged rounds.
