BEFORE: "I've been an admirer of Ali as a fighter for years," Mandy admits in prefight, "so it's a thrill to face her, but I've also been thinking: Ali's been at or near the top for a good 10 years now. 10 years. I don't care how well put together your body is, you're going to slow down with that kind of mileage. And plus - I really do feel that the young fighters in this division have changed the game somewhat - it's not like Ali's fighting a bunch of former models anymore. Let's face it, back in the day, there weren't any Mandy Moores or Amanda Righettis to contend with. I really do think that it's time for Ali to make way, and I think the fighters are here now that can push her aside." Landry nonplussed/superior in rebuttal. "Young fighters always equate 'young' with 'new'," Ali drawls at podium. "There's nothing new in boxing - it's still about giving the other girl more than she can take. Simple. Timeless. Mandy's got nothing I haven't seen before - and seen better. I'm going to give her more than she can take... and then maybe just a wee bit extra for good measure." Ali in gold bikini; black gloves; dark curls loose/long. Mandy in dark purple bikini; black gloves; hair in scruffy beach bun.

During R1: Patient step-poke-pivot big-girl boxing in clockwise rotation. Mandy's jab equal to the task - working Ali's left breast/left jaw/left cheek. Ali jabbing back swiftly, marking out the same territory on Mandy. Moore showing strength - palming up/pushing off at times - taking canvas from Ali. Down the stretch, Ali steals the round with a flicking little decoy left amidships, setting up a drifting short right to chops: Mandy doubleclutches, well smote, covering up hasty at bell.

R2: Ali's clever left jab occupies Mandy's guard to front - Landry dipping-left and tucking left hook behind right elbow with a denting impact on Mandy-meat. Groan of pain, Mandy: Moore cringing, covering up peek-a-boo as Ali scrapes left uppercut to guard, then really hooks paunch with gusto - pursing her lips/scowling on delivery. Moore resilient - punished early, she regroups and begins pushing Ali around in between jabs: Mandy warned for the blatant palming-up/pushing off routine.

R3: Mandy's jab shelling Ali, startling her: Moore starting to lump the pageant princess up via heavy poke. RIGHT HAND TO THE BODY: Mandy leans in/down, driving straight to Ali's midsection, hurting her. Landry backing off all pinched-face... she digs in at ropes, showing earmuff. Mandy steps-to big-girl: pushing Ali in her shoulders; administering wallop to either bicep; cuffing hooks to right flank behind right elbow; shoveling right hands to expensive Landry paunch. Other times, Mandy lowers head, whacks body with supple, lapping delivery underneath - really clouting beef. Ali wincing, cringing... efforts to slide along ropes are doused when Mandy bodies up, pressing former champ deep to ropes with weight. Thick, punishing, smothering abuse meted out - Mandy battering Ali, controlling her bell to bell through 3. Moore pushes off all sultry, looking Ali over: Landry wincing, cranky en route to her corner.

R4: Ali still having trouble imposing will outside via the jab: Mandy's left hand proving just as adroit. Step-and-poke inconclusive - both girls marking out jug/jaw/cheek with spanking effect. Moore gradually getting her way by palming up to push Ali off - Moore walking Landry down, taking the ring away from her. Down the stretch - another booming straight right angled down into Ali's body backs her grimacing to ropes: Moore finishes up big girl, slopping lefts and rights to Ali's flanks/biceps as Landry's stooped forward in earmuff.

R5: Inconclusive step-and-poke at range - both girls patiently shelling away, circling clockwise midring. Down the stretch, Ali slips torso-right, dips-and-digs the right uppercut tuff to Moore's midsection: Mandy issues clinch, suddenly breathless. Ali walks Moore to ropes, shoulders her off: Landry crowding in with left shoulder, staying patient, but pumping in a few thudding lefts and rights amidships to grind out the points. During the break, Jumbotron shows close up Mandy's belly/ribs... Ali's fists in slow-mo, really digging in deep to meat.

R6: Patient step-and-poke - girls flat footed, circling clockwise, working each other over. Action gradually spirals inside - Ali able to outpunch Mandy with combinations. Landry tidying up Moore's paunch with either hand; refreshing Moore's tits; belting the ribcage via short, swiping lefts or rights. Bell: Moore pulling in open-mouthed breaths, hands-on-hips en route to her corner.

R7: The class of Mandy Moore's jab. Ali well known for her jab, but she's punished in exchanges this round - her jab falling short or preempted as Mandy's crashes home. Spank of Mandy's poke loud and bright; Ali blinking after facials; grimacing when that left tit gets pounded. Down the stretch, Mandy hooks tight off the jab, catching Ali flush: Landry backing into ropes wobbly-butt, forming ragged earmuff. Moore steps-to in final seconds, pounding away flat-knuckle wallop to either Landry bicep. Ali holds her guard together, but she's blinking away tears at bell.

R8: Moore out-jabbing Ali... palming up/pushing off/walking Ali down. Landry sullen, cranky - she's being shoved around like a shopping cart, then absorbing wallop as Mandy cashes in to body. Latter half the round fought out along ropes - Mandy on top, bodying up as necessary to keep Ali pinned down. Note Moore riding her left forearm across Ali's upperback when Landry doubles forward: old-school big-girl tactics taking a toll on beautiful brunette.

R9: Sluggish stuff - Ali looking worn; Mandy mouthbreathing. Girls falling in together after getting off - wrestling more in the clinches, walking each other around tummy to tummy. Mandy generally the boss - pushing Ali to ropes, smothering her there. Moore warned for leaning on Ali - even pushing her to her knees at one point (not ruled a knockdown of course). Wheels fall off Moore's applecart late when Ali gouges right uppercut to midsection, doubling Moore up with a shout. Landry hardhearted, buries left hook behind right elbow; scrapes left uppercut across overhanging pate; turns tight right hand in against breasts; chops hook-to-chops across, sending Mandy staggering back on her heels. Pivotal round stolen by Ali late: veteran managing energy well, bursting on Mandy for points.

R10: Ali doubling up the jab to Mandy's breasts/body, driving Moore back. Mandy pained, grimacing: her back hits ropes, forcing her to cover up earmuff as Ali squares away. Landry wary - reaching to palm-up on Moore's biceps; tilting torso right to keep her head to one side... then Ali comes with the short right uppercut/left hook routine. Moore blocking, but sluggish: she's not answering back much, just being big and sturdy at ropes. Ali patient... sliding the left arm past Mandy's right shoulder... crowding with left shoulder against Mandy's forward guard... working to touch Moore tidy right hands under the guard/around the guard/against the guard. Ali controlling, wearing on Mandy... Landry maintains position to bell and this one goes to cards. Comes back narrow UD10... Ali Landry.

After: Mandy shaking her head, hands-on-hips with disappointment: she fought Ali almost to a standstill tonight, but couldn't keep the veteran from digging out ways to win. "I put miles on Mandy Moore tonight," Ali shrugs in postfight, face puffy, sweat-dappled. "Sure, I could have taken her out, but I was having fun in there, getting work - I really felt I needed rounds more than she needed a nap. The scoring was a joke by the way - I won damn near every round, as anyone who knows boxing will tell you. Mandy was a passenger on the ol' Landry express tonight!"
