BOXING AFTER DARK

(Turco brunette from “American Gothic”, now on “The Agency”--Bowen blonde from “Ed”)

Before: both girls known as classy stylists, fight could hinge upon who can also punch a bit. Turco well known as a chief sparring partner for Kari Wuhrer, Kelly Packard, but Bowen not impressed: “Sparring partners don’t make good prize fighters. So she’s taken a lot of punches from some big name fighters--that’s nothing to be proud of.” Bowen in candy striped red and white string bikini, Paige in pale blue bikini top, silver/grey bottoms, hair tied back.

During R1: Girls jabbing, fighting for control of center ring. Bowen with dukes up, touching her eyebrows, using a chopping, hammer drop delivery on her stick, Paige circling, darting in, dragging her back foot on the lunge, spiking the jab then bringing her fist back smart to her left temple as she ducks her head. Artful sniping at one another--Turco getting a lot more body behind her pokes, already starting to anger-up Bowen’s left eye.

R2: Turco circling, starting to dictate. Those lunging jabs are things of beauty--dragging that back foot, getting tremendous spank, really working blonde’s left eye. Bowen just turning, trying to block. Down the stretch, Turco feints the jab, cuffs a swatting hook instead, puts the right cross on the mouth and Julie comes apart at the knees, wobbling slightly as Paige gets to her, Shutout with power, Turco.

R3:llll Bowen bouncing back nicely. Jabbing with, and doubling up on her jab, she starts to take the play away as Turco’s rhythm gets disrupted. Julie countering off the block well, answering back with sudden, chopping blows off her eyebrows--Turco rocked on the jaw and backing away a little shaken. Bowen stepping forward, hooking those plump jugs--Paige grimacing, not answering back into that sharpshooting, stabbing action fro outside--Turco re-establishing her distance and balance by the final minute. Round  re-establishing her distance and balance by the final minute. Round to Bowen.

R4,5: Turco getting everything she wants in this fight--range, pace, style--she’s picking apart midring and blonde’s cooperating. Julie competitive, occasionally getting her spots, hook off her jab, but after 5, her left eye is a battered slit, she’s bleeding from the nostrils and she’s not picking up Turco’s darting jab-lunge. Paige with a satisfying glint in dark eyes: she’s breaking Julie down.

R6: Shutout Turco. Paige starting to stagger Julie a little bit--Bowen getting her face spanked back and responding by covering up tighter rather than seeking revenge. Turco darting in with that elegant jab, but sticking around, exploring the ribcage with sticky tic-tac-toe punching, bobbing and weaving her head while in close to avoid the receipts.

R7.8,9: Back to the action of the 4th and 5th rounds--Julie starting to lump Turco up with her own pesky jab, fighting in spots, but it’s Turco fighting her fight and winning it Paige just PUNISHING the left side of Julie’s pale ribcage--blonde shutting down, gasping, not getting off when Turco savages her body. Paige punching off her front foot very pretty--lead right hands, jabs swatting hooks--Bowen leaning onto her back foot, hands up at her temples just letting the brunette cash away.

R10: Turco closes the show, totally outclassing a battered and wilting Bowen down the stretch. Paige nice and bouncy on her front foot, chipping the right hand, skidding the jab, swatting the hook, moving her head to make Bowen miss, then getting right back on the blonde. Julie retreating, blocking sullenly--she’s getting worked over and taking like a mule this round. Fight ends with Turco’s weight shifted to the back foot, pawing her jab into Julie’s gloves, then turning on a bolo-right uppercut, picking Julie’s head up pretty right at the bell. Comes back wide UD10.

After: Bowen disconsolate after the fight--she got bested round after round fighting what she thought was her fight--Turco separating herself as the classier boxer tonight. “I didn’t punch her tits as much as I wanted to, critiques Turco, ‘but overall I’m satisfied. Julie Bowen’s going home all beat up and that’s what I had to accomplish.”
