Before: Music execs reveal recent market research indicating that pop stars who enter the ring to their hit songs, and win the fight, actually see a spike up in sales for weeks after the bout. Losers don’t seem to be effected one way or the other, but the management teams behind Twain and Kilcher turn this event into a monstrous spectacle in hopes of realizing the effect once again. As for the fight, Twain is very confident of once gain dominating the bigger, but less dynamic Kilcher, Shania in black jog bra, adidas track pants--Jewel in teal aerobics two piece.
During: R1: Shania sets a fast pace, moving in and out on jewel, getting to the body with one-twos, but jewel puts Twain on her heels with a single left hook midway through the bout that reminds everyone which girl has the sock in this fight. Twain dances and shoeshines to the bell, avoiding any more trouble.
R2: The Twain hand speed and cruelty proving too much for Jewel this round, Twain puts her punches together in little chopping arcs, tearing up Jewel’s smooth face with rapid fire combinations, Kilcher too busy trying to stay square to the target, walks into punishment throughout the round. Twain bodies up on Jewel at the bell, talking smack from about one inch away until the ref intervenes.
R3: Jewel gets though to Twain’s slender body with ponderous looking round punches, but Shania cringes with the impacts, clearly feeling the bigger woman’s power. Twain’s legs shut down, and the fight takes on a slower, potshot ting rhythm as Shania starts to absorb some banging shots in her flanks. Jewel uses her upper body strength, giving Shania a little shove back, then stepping in with a short right that freezes the brunettes legs, Some clinching follows, and Jewel pushes Shania back with ease, and drops another straight right on her chin, and Twain crumples to her back as if shit. Shania stares straight up at the lights, blinking and trying to get off her back, bu7t she won’t beat the count. Stunning KO Jewel Kilcher.
After: Sure enough Kilcher’s sales enjoy a nice little lift in the days following this explosive victory. Jewel herself releases a bets selling book of poetry exploring her emotions in the two fights with Shania--ranging from elation to revulsion at the prospect of hurting Twain so badly in the rematch.
