Retrospective Bout (Early 1990's)

Before: famous on-set battle follows storyline which revolves around an annual boxing match between the town's best women, in this case characters played by Turner and Geary. Using the same set - a hemp rope ring set up in the town bar, and with cast and crew members still in costume, Turner and Geary do a good natured dime to resolve everyone's curiosity. Geary the bigger, stronger woman, but Turner a steady punching platform, and better inside fighter. Turner in red Adidas terrycloth trunks, black push up bra, socks vs. Geary in teal Adidas trunks, white push up, socks.

During R1: Janine able to set up on Cynthia's chest and keep the action hot and close. Turner turning Cynthia, keeping the gangly blonde off balance, and hammering a steady diet of body punches in between the hips of the blonde. Geary clinching, grimacing, can't get much going in the first.

R2, 3, 4: Geary without a lot of technical skill, simply goes toe to toe with Janine and brawls her way to win each of these rounds. Cynthia bodying up, takes Turners punches, then shoves the brunette straight back, creating space for the blonde to extend her right cross. Turner still effective in spurts, but unable to cope with Geary's strength, getting puffy eyed and looking a little shopworn after 4.

R5: Turner makes things a little easier with head movement outside, still getting pushed around, but now dipping under Geary's right hand to set up counter lefts from Turner. Cynthia not adjusting, stays with the bread and butter, and starts to get knocked around with hooks to her jaw.

R6: Janine Turner with her best round early, bangs to the gut and head as Cynthia starts to go wobbly butt. Geary eating flush hooks, has no idea how to defend, so she steps back, and begins hurling right hands, catching Janine on the forehead in the final minute to nearly drop the brunette. Turner desperately hurt, sags into Geary, holding on for dear life until the bell.

R7: Turner dipping low, coming back with batting left hooks across Cynthia's midsection, Geary trying to load up the right hand. End comes as Geary reaches back with the right, Turner sees it, steps in and bounces a clean left hand off Cynthia's chin, and the blonde reels back to the ropes with a stunned expression. Turner in with fists flying, batters Cynthia with 12 unanswered lefts and rights, forcing the stoppage. KO 7 Janine Turner.

After: Not the last set scuffle they would ever have, but probably the best - Turner showing she could hang in there with bigger, stronger girls with sheer tenacity and serviceable left hook.
