Before: Couple of classy boxers take to the ring, but Theron enrages the Carpenter camp by referring to Charisma as a 'tune up'. One-sided loss obviously hurting Carpenter's reputation - she's plenty motivated to improve things against Theron. Charlize in teal Adidas terrycloth trunks, cream sportsbra, Charisma in red Adidas trunks, black sports bra.

R1: Theron with a variety of looks this round, shuts a bewildered Charisma out. Slugging early, Charlize steps in with her shoulder in between swings, nudging Charisma back a step, then moving in behind alternating lefts and rights to put Charisma on the ropes. Then, dancing Charlize takes over, retreating in front of Charisma, luring the brunette forward into the jab, stepping to the side and putting one-twos together up the middle. Charisma can't figure out which Charlize to fight, and watches the round pass her by.

R2: Carpenter shakes off the cobwebs and shows an Oscar look, chopping right hands, dipping her left shoulder and coming back with snapping hooks to take the play away from the blonde early. Midway through the round, a little shoulder butt, left hook move from Charisma twists Theron's head to the side, and Charlize looks a little wide eyed from the impact. Toe to toe slugging the rest of the way, as a hurt Charlize is reduced to pitch and catch.

R3: Tactical Theron again, circling Carpenter, turning her shoulder into short lead rights and cranking wide left hooks to break Charisma down. Theron hurts Carpenter with a double left hook short right hand on the mouth, and it's all Theron to the bell as she bangs at Carpenter's flanks while the brunette covers up.

R4: Another shutout for Theron, who cruises with her jab making a mockery of Carpenter's unusually porous defense so far.

R5: Theron still stabbing that harsh lead left through Carpenter's mitts, digs in with her toes to recock and rip the left hook to the pit of Carpenter's belly. Charisma not busy enough, hiding behind a high guard and waiting for Charlize to get off.

R6: Carpenter countering with hard left hooks, Theron the busier fighter, bookending the exchanges with wide lefts and rights - round scored a draw.

R7: Carpenter slowly getting closer to Charlize - the girls step clockwise around one another, trading hooks and crosses in sharp exchanges. Close round, Charisma just a little more effective as Theron starts to take more punishment.

R8: Charisma showing that fitness, uptempos on the blonde and beats Charlize ragged with crippling body shots this round. Theron up on her toes, screaming through clenched teeth as Carpenter bats left and right to the flanks and midriff. Carpenter bodying up, walks Charlize back with tight left and right uppercuts inside, just clipping Theron’s chin and knocking her head back off Charisma's shoulder.

R9: Charlize coming back with another shutout round, using an exquisite jab to pester, poke and bang with an unpredictable rhythm. Charlize moving, keeping the extended left in Carpenter's face, then driving in off that back foot to spank hard right hands against the brunette's chiseled ribs.

R10: Charisma Carpenter knows its close and comes out like a champ. Swatting with the right to set up that cranking left hook, Carpenter gets to Charlize' chin early and often, putting a wobble in Theron's legs, and driving her back on her heels in the first minute. Theron on the ropes, counters effectively with short uppercuts as she leans back, but in the final minute, pounding Carpenter body shots bend Charlize forward, leaving her vulnerable to the very nice Charisma right uppercut. Carpenter clipping away at Charlize' chin on the inside as the blonde goes wobbly butt - Theron's mouth piece spills out over Carpenter's shoulder as the blonde slips into a daze at the bell. Charlize gets the nod by a single point, Charisma shaking her head at the call.

After: Charisma shows she's prime time with a gutty, very professional display against one of the best blondes around. Theron's chin dug her out of some tight spots, especially in the 10th, when timely power hitting from Carpenter made this a nail biter down the stretch. Charlize winning 4 of her 5 rounds with impressive shutouts, surprising many onlookers with her polished look at times.
