Before: This bout - hurriedly scheduled in the wake of the furor following Witherspoon-Ryder - is being promoted by Salma Hayek (the Kiana Tom of Mexico) and will be held "on the beach" at the Mexican resort town of Puerto Vallarta in a sand "ring" (four 4x4's with three strands of loose rope strung around the boxing area). Girls who end up with their back on these ropes won't get much support - which could factor into their strategy, tactics - or it could just turn on dumb luck!

A mere two weeks after dispatching Ricci's girlfriend and stablemate Ryder, Reese back in action facing Christina who is quite frank and open about her aims. "First, I'm going to pay Witherspoon back for humiliating Noni; there was no call for that. She's going to regret big time making an enemy of me! But then also need to win some fights; to get back to where I was when I held the Fly and JMD titles. I see the names atop the fly rankings and think 'I can beat those girls' - so why aren't I? Look, Witherspoon isn't just a 'has-been' she's a 'never-was.' What's it been what, 7-8 years since she won a fight? OK, I mean, until she got in one lucky punc and upset Noni!"

Reese ignores talk of her 'never were-ness' and focuses on her potential. "I barely fought in the FCBA since EVER, so I don't know what the big deal is about my record. I've had a film career, won an Oscar; I'm raising a family while some of these flyweights are doing drugs, having drunken orgies, engaging in promiscuous sex... Gee whiz, more than a few have spent time in prison or rehab! Seems to me that I should be a role model for these youngsters!"

Still careful, Witherspoon avoids answering any questions about her 'relationship' with Ricci who - it is rumored - intervened on behalf of girlfriend Winona Ryder and together they cut Witherspoon out of a major role in the new film, 'The Dilemma' - a part Reese was rumored to have wanted badly.

Reese forced to 'make do' with one second in her corner, the inexperienced Penelope Cruz chosen more for her experience with 'beach fights' than anything else. Cruz needing a temporary trainer's license, acquired thru the efforts of her 'good friend' Salma Hayek. The bout was scheduled hurriedly due to the fallout from Reese-Ryder and the Academy stable are unable to attend, being away at a previously scheduled "Corporate Team Building" retreat in the Cascade Mountains - which couldn't be cancelled without a hefty penalty! Witherspoon (and Cruz) plan to fly out immediately after the fight to join the stable in time for tomorrow morning's exercises.

Ricci: short black hair; risque purple bikini. Reese: messy blonde ponytail; blue bikini. Bare feet and red gloves for both women!

During R1: Staredown during instructions translates to hammer-and-tongs exchange right from the open bell. Brutal, close-in, trading via 'bump-n-slug' inside as both women climb right into the trunks (bikini bottoms, actually) of the other. Reese showcasing her new Liu-esque hook to good advantage, hooking Ricci's body like she means it! Ricci hurt, stumbling back to the slack ropes, almost falling out of the 'ring' before righting herself. Ricci having trouble with the ropes, exposing herself to brutal body work by Witherspoon who works over Chris' ribs, belly and, especially, her juicy rack. Ricci finally off the ropes, counterattacks late, paying Reese back in kind for her 'jug muggerage' in a crowd-pleasing body battle as both petite battlers rattle angry leather off the other's head and shoulders. Ricci, hurt to the body, can't fully get her wind back during the break.

R2: More furious bump-n-grind slugging; same as the first, only this time the exchanges go Ricci's way! Ricci dipping her right shoulder, bringing her punches up from her knees, digging deep in Reese's surprisingly resiliant abs - not something we've seen in Reese in recent years, her body in fighting shape! Still, Chris beating her girl back to the ropes and it's Reese who's having trouble separating herself from the loose ropes. As Ricci digs deep for revenge, Reese is suffering. Witherspoon going...going... then just as it looks like she's going down, she gets the better of a withering exchange and RICCI'S ROCKED! Chrissy wobbly butt from a short, crisp, hook that catches chin just her right glances harmlessly off of Reese's shoulder. Bell: both women swaying on the spot, struggling to be the last woman standing after a slobberknocker second round that has locals and tourista's alike on their feet screaming.

R3: Stupendous stuff. Same as the action in the first two rounds. First one, then the other, grabs the initiative; pounds the others body, backing her up; then they doe-si-doe around and the other girl beats the first back to where they started. Both women having trouble with the sandy footing; both toes in the sand digging deep, struggling for purchase. When they get those toes dug in, both girls able to really torque into their punches far more powerfully than in a standard ring. It's mouth-on-shoulder type trading; two nubile little bodies laid waste. Neither giving ground willingly, but Reese getting the better of the territorial battle, but paying a price for her advance. Ricci warned for roughhousing; but Witherspoon gets it back on her own anyway as there's no love lost.

R4: More stupendous stuff. Neither girl backing down from the other; all toe-to-toe slugging with both hands. Surprisingly, there aren't many head-hunting punches as both seem ready, willing and able to keep this fight between two lines drawn across their boobs and butts; a real battle of the beltway! Reese relying heavily on her hooking; Ricci liking her chances with the uppercut. And each lands often. Not a lot of real sophisticated defense employed by either fighter, both more intent on doing harm to the other than protecting herself. Again, referee only gets involved rarely - and then to warn both fighters for head-butting; holding and hitting and the odd kidney punch. Both get rough with the other, seemingly willing to sort that out between themselves rather than rely on the referee to maintain discipline. Ricci giving ground grudgingly, and in small bits, but giving it up nonetheless. Bruising fare. Reese coming forward behind the jab/hook; Ricci stepping back in good order, countering hook or uppercut as Witherspoon tilts forward. Both bodies showing wear and tear, not that the crowd minds!

R5: Mouth on shoulder stuff bell to bell. If you didn't know it was a fight, you might think they were shooting a porno, so close are the two bodies entwined. Rare for sunlight to intrude beneath their jutting juggs as they keep 'em pressed tight together, hips jutting back, butts thrust out, fists pumping ceaselessly inside. This a primer on why the 'little girls' are the most interesting weight class as there's rarely a long clinch or dulsetory action. Even when their feet aren't kicking up sand, the four hands are in ceaseless motion. As well established, both girls continue to scrub the head, hook behind the elbows and the referee dispairs of ever getting them to heed warnings to, "... knock off the rough stuff."

R6: More bruising, mouth-on-shoulder trading. Girls swapping body-busting blows; first Ricci doubling Witherspoon over, then coming down into her cleavage with bra-bustin' bashing. Reese answering low to Ricci's abs, driving her hips back, coming up from below with a shoulder to the chin; concluding with a hook-hook-hook combination to the belly. Cinch. Reese again using the shoulder to open up Ricci's defenses, short hook chin puts a sexy jiggle in Ricci's hindquarters; another short hook chin sends her to the ropes - and almost out over the sagging top rope! Reese working methodically, eyes hard; digging to the body, but now head-hunting and Ricci's in trouble late in the round. Chris stops punching, turtling; earmuffing; no longer throwing punches, just 'sponging' blows to the bell. Reese uncharacteristically aggressive, pounding away to - and after - the bell. Referee has to pull her off of Ricci who stumbles to the wrong corner, requiring Ryder rescue.

R7: Ricci's in a bad way, visibly still hurt and Reese goes right after her hurtin' opponent. Reese in a rhythm, hammering mercilessly to the body drives Ricci back into her (Witherspoon's) corner, stacks her up. Bump left shoulder straightening Ricci up; step in behind a short hook, chin. Bump left shoulder; step in to a short, crisp, hook to chin again! Squaring up, Reese buries her head between Ricci's heaving hooters, then lathers away to the breadbasket - stealing Ricci's last breath; working upward, pancaking those proud, JMD worth breasts, ending up going frisky to the chin with left/right hooks. Ends the fight with a pawing left to Ricci's forehead, tilting her head back for a...'nother of those Lucy Liu inspired hooks flush to the chin!! Ricci with nowhere to go, pitches forward facefirst into the sand, her nose plowing a furrow between Reese's wide planted toes. KO7 Reese Witherspoon who - unbelievably - is on a three fight winning streak!
