KO8 Ledford

Ross nipped by Julie Bowen last time out for a one-point decision--entered this fight knowing she could have, and probably should have, carried the day against Julie. But this fight would be a sterner, more decisive, more punishing setback as the aging, but still effective Ledford stood inside with Charlotte and took Ross apart at her own game over 8 grinding heats.

Charlotte Ross is used to being the boss the inside--its usually just a question for her of when and how she’s going to get in position. But on this occasion, Ledford, happily accepted Ross shoulder-to-shoulder, proceeding to bludgeon out the minu8tes with intense, economical punching as both girls dug and shrugged tight n’ tasty at close quarters. Uppercuts and hooks--nasty compact jerks and digs--ripped back and forth, and despite finding a fair amount of the Ledford torse, poor Charlotte couldn’t win the exchanges.

Cracks began to show in the fourth as uncanny Ledford hooks to liver put Ross wheezing on one knee--and for the rest of the night, that punch would be there for heartless, hard-eyed Brandy. Another, similar wilting knockdown in the 6th had Charlotte panting, distraught, on all fours: Brandy’s cool assessing glance-down as she stalked past told all in attendance that victory was only moments away.

4 minutes away to be precise. Spending the seventh savaging Ross and softening her up against the ropes--Ledford would go back to the liver via withering, digging hooks in the 8th and Charlotte simply couldn’t sustain. Backing away with a stricken expression, Ross hugged at her throbbing body, sank to one knee, then sat back on her haunches unable to continue. Redounding Ledford victory announces that the cougar still has sharp, formidable teeth, as a fit, strong Ross is thoroughly dismantled.
