Before: Both girls former sparring partners for Courtney Thorne Smith and others, have seen plenty of each other in the gym--no surprises here. Good technicians, classic boxers--it’s a well-made fight. Kelly in white sports bra, teal high cut aerobics trunks--Diane in spaghetti strap black sports bra, red high cut aerobics trunks.

During R1: Early tactical stick and move gives way to all out slugging when Kelly catches Diane a clean counter right hand over the brunette’s jab midway through the round. Diane wobbly butt, momentarily defenceless is shredded as Preston puts punches together, stepping with the faltering brunette and banging the head with relentless determination. Lane is beaten to her knees at the ropes, is groggy getting up. Preston finishes up with shove-and-slug to the bell.

R2: Lane knows Preston will come in strong, and she counters Kelly’s ambitious lead right with a left to the ribs/left to the jaw counter that has Preston reeling! Kelly covering up, hands at her face, Lane sticking the jab into mitts then whipping as right hand underneath the rib cage, doubling the punch to the ear to keep preston off balance this round.

R3: Lane dominating with her footwork, moving in and around on Preston, doubling up the jab and stepping into a clouting left hook on the blonde’s jaw. Kelly reacting this round, suffers the shutout while following the brunette around the ring.

R4: Preston cuts ff the ring and walks Diane into right hands this round to return the favour. Now Lane loses the battle for position as Kelly gets a sweet angle for the right hand, dropping the punch in over Lane’s left shoulder at will. In the minute, kelly;s right hands have Lane hurt, and Diane clinches to the bell.

R5: Diana mixing it up, moving left and right laterally, potshotting Preston, making the fight all about hand speed and angles and taking the points on that basis.

R6: Di boxing beautifully, forcing Preston to continually move her feet and capitalizing as Kelly gets caught repeatedly off balance. In the final minute, Di stepping left, reverses direction and leans into a short right hand on the temple that has Preston hurt. Di pouring it on with one-twos to the gut, has Kelly on the ropes at the bell.

R7: Diane simply consolidating, staying outsider, pestering Kelly with the sharp jab, abd potshot ting the blonde’s chest and chin with sneaky right hands. Lane bending low on follow through makes Preston miss over the top.

R8: Kelly turning her lead shoulder with Diane’s right hand, and coming back with a clipping right uppercut, has Lane hurt to open the round. Diane on the defensive, is pried open like a clam as Kelly uses her left to measure the brunette, then pours in lashing right hands through the mitts. Lane busted up in the final minute, back against the ropes as Kelly steps in and out, landing hard 3 punch combinations to the bell.

R9: Diane shakes off the punishment and goes toe to toe from medium distance. Blonde and brunette trade sharp 2 and 3 punch combinations as each steps around the other at center ring. Down the stretch, Lane takes over, countering Kelly’s tired looking right hand with snapping left hooks to close Preston’s right eye at the bell.

R10: More toe to toe exchanges--both beauties exhausted, but holding their form. First Diane and her left hook dominate, then Kelly takes over with rights, but in the final minute, a spent Kelly Preston falls apart. Lane pounces, putting punches together in crisp arcs, snatching at Preston’s body with short left hooks and coming back with banging rights on the jaw. Preston taking punches, getting groggy, retreats to the ropes and hunches forward, Seconds left in the round, lane digs repeated right hands in behind Kelly’s left elbow, setting up the short left hook in between the mitts and Preston collapses onto her face, Stunning KO10 for Diane Lane as she takes what would have been a cloe fight out of the judges hands.

After: Lane not known for one-punch power, but her resolute attack in this fight wore preson down and out. As exhausted as she was hurt, Kelly simply ran out of gas in the waning moments of the fight, and lane broke her will with the final flurry. Second consecutive impressive showing doer Lane, finally getting some well deserved pub for her abilities.
