BEFORE: "I was beating Katrina Law's ass in that fight," Jodi Lyn says in prefight, still smarting from defeat. "Every minute was mine, until she snatched it all away with the luckiest punch in history. Mandy's got to pay for that - I'm taking all my frustration out on her! And no, I don't respect her: I'M the future of this division, not Mandy."
Moore upbeat, sensing a chance to get under Jodi's skin in rebuttal: "Is anyone else bothered by how many syllables are in Jodi Lyn O'Keefe's name?" Mandy quips. "Jeez: that's a mouthful! Seriously though, Jodi (I'm just gonna call her 'Jodi') WAS dangerous against Law - that was anybody's fight. But 2011's a new year, a clean slate for me. I had a tough 2010, but Jodi's been brought in so I can get off on the right foot and get back to where I belong: at the top of the welterweight food chain!"
Mandy in deep, dark purple bikini; scubby beach-style battle bun; black gloves. Jodi Lyn in black lace push up; leopard print bikini bottoms; black gloves; black hair straight/loose. Seething stare down from Jodi Lyn during ring instructions, made worse when Mandy winks at her!
During R1: Early right hand loops slightly around Mandy's raised guard, clubbing her behind left ear: MOORE'S STEPPING IN FENCE POST HOLES! Mandy reeling, but poised: she gathers Jodi up in clinch, hanging on for dear life as O'Keefe's trying to wriggle free. Lot of time on the clock...ref issuing breaks...Jodi Lyn hurling herself at Mandy to finish her. Moore does a nice job of surviving - sliding away to lure Jodi into swamping clinches...girls stumbling around in tummy to tummy embraces as Mandy battles to get her legs back.
R2: Mandy fighting from tight earmuff - letting Jodi pound the shoulders/guard robusto, then dropping in nifty little counters - knocking at Jodi's face. Clobbering stuff from O'Keefe bludgeons Moore around the ring: Mandy staying safe in the pocket, though absorbing terrific shock. Down the stretch, carving right hand takes Mandy in her paunch...she's momentarily frozen as Jodi Lyn puts together a jackhammer series of lefts and rights, punching through Mandy's gaurd, driving her to ropes. MANDY'S WOBBLY BUTT! Moore desperately hurt again, but alert: she draws Jodi Lyn into clinch, swamping O'Keefe's finishing run despite ref's warnings for excessive holding.
R3: Jodi Lyn muscling up, hurling HARD punches at Moore's head: Mandy blocking in earmuff, but looping right hand catches her behind the ear, clubbing her off balance in early action. Mandy stumbling, windblown: once again she resorts to clinching, tying Jodi Lyn up to frustrate O'Keefe's attempts at clean up. Sloppy stop-and-go as Moore uses every trick in the book - baiting Jodi into clinches; roughing her up in the grasp until ref's break. It's another Jodi Lyn round as she hurts Mandy, but can't finish the cagey, survival-minded veteran.
R4: Mandy in earmuff, looking like she's going to fall in to clinch: she surprises Jodi Lyn with that sneaky, squirting right hand off the shoulder, catching O'Keefe to chin, buzzing her legs! Jodi Lyn topples forward hurt: Moore gathers her up, wrestles her into ropes, gets to work. Where Moore had clinched when hurt - Jodi Lyn doesn't know what to do: she's just standing there in rigid earmuff, letting Moore get off big-girl. Mandy bodying up to secure Jodi Lyn, then tucking in cute body shots at the belt line; shrugging punches into Jodi Lyn's tits; loosening her up, then belting her about the head. Mandy methodical - touching Jodi Lyn, then wrapping her up to prevent escape: Moore just processing Jodi, trying to make up all the lost ground through 4.
R5: Moore looking to fall inside again: Jodi Lyn picks her up an exquisite right uppercut, unhinging Mandy's knees. Moore hurt AGAIN very early in a round...stumbling around wobbly butt, trying to rally. Jodi pouring herself at Mandy - clobbering her hips/lats with wide, pounding roundhouses; hammering the arms as Mandy staggers round the ring. Moore able to clinch after a terrible buffetting: Jodi Lyn wailing in protest as she's snuggled up tight. Ref working up a sweat pushing bodies apart as Mandy won't release when asked: more warnings for Moore as she holds her way out a jam. Bell: Mandy discouraged, getting hit some monster shots thus far - corner tells her, "You've ridden out her best stuff: start taking it to her, M!"
R6: Methodical Mandy: earmuff guard; left jab dropping off her temple, chopping at Jodi Lyn's front; short, brawny little right uppercuts check Jodi's chin as the girls fall in; bump-n'-swipe work at close quarters clouts Jodi about her face and tits as Mandy tightens up stroke. Moore having her way - turning Jodi, touching her up: O'Keefe erases all the good work with a series of sweeping, monster hooks that beat past Mandy's guard, ring her up, and send her reeling to ropes! Moore swaying in the wind, staring goggle-eyed at the power: she suffers a terrible bombardment to her biceps/lats as Jodi Lyn squares away - Mandy able to clinch in desperation for ref's break. Jodi held fast...Moore manages to keep her feet, survive the round as O'Keefe steals the sixth with late power.
R7: Mandy trailing a broken wing, shying away from her tormentress, looking vulnerable, baiting Jodi Lyn forward...then checking her the sneaky little right hand as O'Keefe storms forward. Moore shaking Jodi Lyn up with these short little chin-checks, then tying up, wrestling her to ropes: Moore swamping her dynamic foe at every opportunity, mauling her at close quarters. Not pretty - Mandy just getting a body on Jodi Lyn, smothering her, then tucking in punches with the free hand while the other hand holds. Jodi suffering, but bull-strong and mule-stubborn: she takes a beating, refuses to go down and even shoves Mandy after the bell.
R8: Jodi Lyn reluctant to close now, wary of Mandy's clinch: Moore able to step-and-poke left jabs, just dropping 'em out of the earmuff to knock at Jodi's face. O'Keefe with a good stiff left jab, but it's a predictable, heavy poke: Mandy timing it, catching it in her right palm, then answering back short left hooks/chopping right hands off the block. Moore using catch-and-release clinches to frustrate Jodi, break her rhythm: Mandy walking O'Keefe around in the grasp, messing up her footwork in a veteran 8th.
R9: BOOMING Jodi Lyn haymakers crash against Mandy's earmuff guard: Moore blocking the first series of wide, tic-tock left/rights, but right hands eventually club past, bashing in behind left ear, unhinging Moore's legs AGAIN! Mandy in free-fall, staggering around all watery-eyed and wobbly-butt...she suffers a terrible buffetting about her flanks/arms until she can tie up for ref's break. Jodi squirming in the grasp - hands out wide, or high above her head: she's doing everything she can to bring the ref in quick. Moore stabilizes her front once again with veteran survival tactics, but it's another Jodi Lyn round by default: Mandy staggering to the finish line, just can't put any hurt on Jodi this round.
R10: Mandy dropping out that short, hammer-style jab from earmuff...sliding back to lure Jodi in...diving in to clip that squirting right onto Jodi's chin en-route to clinch. In the clinch, Mandy walks Jodi in a circle, pushing her off, walking her down: O'Keefe mesmerized, falling into Mandy's catch-and-release rhythm. Moore methodical, outboxing Jodi with tactical clinches, a heavy jab, and sneaky right hands to take the tenth, but it's a heartbreaking UD10 Jodi Lyn when cards are tallied.
After: Jodi Lyn nodding, being aggressive: she visits the Foxfire corner in postfight, tapping a finger on the point of her chin, daring Laura Vandervoort to take the first shot; pushing Hayden Panettiere off the ring apron with a foot in the rump. Mandy deeply discouraged: painful slump continues as she absorbs a thumping tonight, though she never went down once to fearfsome power punching. "I'm the best girl out there," Jodi Lyn affirms, eyes blazing. "Nobody touches my ferocity in the ring. I beat Mandy pillar to post - PILLAR TO POST! Only her cheap-ass holding saved her from being blown out early. I'm too strong, too violent: no one competes with me when I'm in my groove. No one!"
