Before: Fight sponsored by Femmes Fatales magazine after Ms. Anderson is quoted as saying “Nichelle Nichols wouldn’t have gone3 rounds with me” in an article on the best Sci-Fi gals in history. Outrageous claim irks many--including Wuhrer who immediately asserts Anderson is the most overrated celebrity fighter in history. Kari the boxer/puncher in black sports bra, red adidas terrycloth trunks, Gillian the veteran in-fighter I white sports bra, teal adidas trunks--small ponytails for both.

During R1: Wuhrer owns the space between other two women with her jab, circling left and popping the punch at Gillian with a pesky rhythm,. Last minute sees Kari box to get inside, and Gillian enjoys some moments bouncing her fists off Kari’s taut torso and breasts as the girls go toe to toe at the bell. Competitive opener goes to Wuhrer.

R2: Wuhrer ignores her obvious strengths to body up with the sturdy redhead and the girls go forehead to forehead for all 3 minutes. Wuhrer working Anderson over, alternating her head on either of the redhead’s shoulders to pound the sides and midriff--Gillian spends most of the round with her hands behind Wuhrer’s back--looking to clinch rather than punch.

R3: Kari continues to lay in with Anderson, bringing her punches in tight arcs from either side, fists spanking away at the redhead’s sturdy waist. Anderson working inside as will uses a short right from the shoulder to smash away at the breasts and sternum area to land the harder punches this round. Wuhrer takes the round, but her tactics are giving Anderson a chance to compete.

R4: Girls all in and immediately begin to slug with heads on one-another’s shoulder. Anderson finally gets a rhythm with her compact left hook, and midway through the round, Wuhrer’s legs give way as she clinches.  Kari with a hurting expression srops punching for the rest of the round as Anderson consolidates, welting the hips and tummy with repeated left hooks to the bell.

R5: Straight-legged, hunched over, Kari Wuhrer leans in with Gillian Anderson once again, and the two stand toe-to-toe to bring the crowd to its feet. Neither girl clinching, cheek to cheek--the girls pull back to bang with uppercuts or hooks, then fall back in to get their receipt. In then final minute, Gillian slips a short left hand from Wuhrer, coming back up to catch Kari perfectly in the gut with another sapping hook. Wuhrer sags to the ropes with a groan, face showing her pain, and covers up as Anderson goes to work with banging lefts and rights to the bell. Anderson peeling away from shellshocked Wuhrer at the bell with a huge smile in her face as Kari reels on the ropes.

R6: Gillian the aggressor, walking Kari down once again as the brunette stands straight-legged, just looking toi get her breath back. Anderson showing a Tyson look as she stand sin, using her hands to probe and pull back Kari’s protective arms for bang./bang left-rights to the midsection. Wuhrer just laying in with Gillian sopping up the punishment, putting her back to the topes and trying to slip and roll with the incoming, in the final minute, Wuhrer snaps back Gillian’s head with a cute counter uppercut to back Anderson up at the bell.

R7: Kari gets her legs back, and finally listens to her corner’s pleas to box, Stepping to the left, Wuhrer hooks off the jab, shoots a nice straight right into Andersons face and comes back with the wide left hook to Gillian’s ribs. Gillian’s knees buckle, and she’s hurt for the first time in the fight. Anderson doesn’t like the handspeed or movement, crossing her arms, pivoting and catching as Kari shuts her out.

R8: Kari regaining her confidence, starting to bounce around=d Gillian on her toes, slapping the jab with the right hand low and Anderson makes her pay. Midway through the round, Gillian dips, and launches out of her crotch to catch Kari on the move with a gorgeous leaping left hook that sweeps Wuhrer to her back. Kari up with a shocked expression, and those legs are shot once again. Gillian bodies yup and the crowd goes wild as Wuhrer refuses to cave, trading punch for punch as the girls slug to the bell and beyond.

R9: Anderson concentrating on Wuhrer’s taut midsection, walks to the wobbly brunette down and goes to work with left hooks, but Kari uses a chopping overhand right counter to bust Anderson up. Midway through the round, with Gillian absorbing tremendous blows to her eye and cheek. Wuhrer turns the punch over, coming from underneath with a curling right uppercut to the chin to drop Anderson to her backside at center ring. Gillian struggles to her feet, but isn’t the same fighter as Kari walks in, whipping her punches wide to Gillian’s body and head. At the bell, Anderson is seated on the ropes, cowering beneath the looping power punches of Kari as Wuhrer gives a cry of triumph.

R10: Wuhrer has another minute of stick and move in her, but the body work catches up to her and she spends most of the round shoulder to shoulder with Anderson who makes the most of it. Gobbling up Kari with left hooks, Anderson punches Wuhrer into a hurting crouch, tanning the girl’s rib cage on the right side with short, brutal strokes. Wuhrer can only clinch and lean in, standing and taking her medicine to the bell, whereupon both exhausted warriors nearly collapse with drained expressions. Decision comes back a well-received draw.

After; Both women fought their hearts out in a war that saw basketball game-like changes in momentum. Behind on the cards after the 8th, Wuhrer dug down and boxed brilliantly to basically save the fight with knockdown in the 9th. Intimate struggle settles nothing between the women, both of whom are convinced that they gave the other girl a real beating on the night, and can’t understand the decision.
