This will be Ashley’s first fight for the new BBU American stable, and her first appearance in the FCBA ring since 2009. The girl has plenty of guts, but she may need more than that to combat the experienced and in-form Moon.
Ashley looks good, and pretty full of herself in a blue one-piece outfit, but she looks as impressed as the audience at the appearance of the taller Moon, tanned and honed in a black bra and panties set.
Round 1
Ashley looks for a fast start here, but she finds life difficult, with Moon, looking determined, seeking out the younger girl’s body, working the youngster round the ring at this early stage, her wide, arcing hooks crunching into Ash’s ribcage and flanks, the girl puffing and grunting as they land, trying to repel the bigger girl with her right jab, but she can’t get the power behind her punches with the older actress punishing her, and she’s glad to hear the bell.
First round to Moon.
Round 2
Moon comes in to dish out some more punishment, but Ashley’s a tough cookie, and the kid clips the older girl firmly in the mouth with that right, and she lands a beauty, Moon’s head jolted sideways, stopping her in her tracks – but only briefly. Moon’s after Ashley’s bod again, hitting her at will in a cruel, measured attack – the youngster’s hurt, but still trying to fight back, even though she gets trapped on the ropes, her gut taking a hammering in the closing seconds.
Moon takes round 2, and Ashley is gasping with pain.
Round 3
Still looking to attack, young Ashley on her toes, dancing and jabbing, but this body punching is sapping her energy, and she’s soon backpedalling, Moon weaving and bobbing her head as she thuds another barrage to the kid’s ribs, gets her hard to the belly, and Ash is slowly being forced to lower that guard, a smiling Moon now getting some of sharp, stinging punches to land in the kid’s wincing face, roughing her skin up nicely for her, and Ash is getting tagged again and again as she gets trapped in a neutral corner – her corner can shout at her all they like, but she hasn’t got the craft to get out of there, and the bell ends another painful round.
No question – that’s Moon again!
Round 4
What can Ashley do to rescue this? The girl tries again, jabbing at Moon’s head, but either can’t follow her lead up, or is too badly hurt to try, and she’s starting to lose heart at last, her hard right hand might be landing in Moon’s face, but the bigger girl is taking it, gambling on her fitness, and she’s prepared to take a few thudding headshots to continue this merciless assault on Ashley’s body, just whipping those big punches in, and trapping her yet again on the ropes, she looks for the belly, just taking the air out of Ash’s system, the girl hardly offering now as she gets muscled into her own corner to take a final barrage before the round ends.
That’s 4 from 4 now to Moon.
Round 5
Moon is taking deep breaths, looking fresh, but poor young Ashley is slow to rise from her stool, her breath coming in painful gasps – those ribs have taken such a pummelling tonight. Now there’s more of the same from a pouting, prancing Moon Bloodgold, the girl just hurting her inexperienced opponent for fun now, outclassing her, ripping punches into that body – and Ashley hits the floor at last, she’s on her forearms and knees, sobbing, squealing and gulping in air. Now Ash’s corner are urging their girl to stay down, but she beats the count at 9, clamping her eyes shut and gritting her teeth as the ref waves Moon back in, and she hits the girl again to the body, has her on the ropes once more – Ashley’s guard is disintegrating, and big Moon bangs a left hook, right hook combo to her unprotected face, sending her to the canvas again, the younger girl motionless as she’s counted out.
Moon Bloodgold knocked Ashley Newbrough out in round 5.
Some critics call the fight a mismatch, but others say that Moon neutralised Ashley’s big punch and just made it look that way because she fought so well.
After the fight Moon is telling reporters, “Stupid kid! She’s gotta realise she needs more than a big right hand to compete in this division! I felt real good tonight, wanted the workout – and that’s all it was – but credit to her, she can take a punch, cos I’ve busted her up pretty damn good in there!” Ashley can hardly speak, such is the pain in her torso, “Got .. beat .. up! Yeah! Sorry!”
