Next up is an international welterweight bout. Ireland’s Victoria took a 3 round beating from Gabrielle Union in Sheffield, but Liv has been inactive since 2008, her career having never received much support since debuting in 2001, and , at 33, this could be her last chance to come back, so the 36 year old Irish girl presents a reasonable challenge.

Blonde Victoria looks pretty fit in a white outfit, with brunette Liv in black, and the American looks like a girl who means business.

Round 1

Liv sets off like a girl in a hurry, her left jabs banging Victoria’s head back right from the start, her height and reach a real problem for the Irish girl, who is getting tagged with that right as well. Vic tries to get inside the American’s reach, but she’s taking a solid early beating here, the younger girl just overwhelming her, and she puts Vic down with left to the mouth, the blonde on her back already for an 8 count, lips looking puffy as she nods to the ref that’s she’s OK. On her feet again, but her defence is hapless, her gloves just flailing at the taller girl, and Vic’s down again – another left hook, this time to her cheek, and she’s staggering up at 6, walks into another left, and just makes it to the end of the round.

Liv’s round – massive!

Round 2

Liv starts on Victoria from the bell, those punishing head shots just bouncing off the Irish girl’s face, which is red, swelling, bleeding – a bit of a mess actually. Vic’s on the ropes now, trying to guard her battered face with a glove either side, so Liv goes central, crunching a left into that proud Irish belly, and Vic just groans, slumps forwards, and hits the canvas again, face down, rolling over, and pushing herself up again at 8 – the girl has spirit, she showed that against Gaby, but this a bit much now, and Liv is trying to finish her off, ripping hard punches into the blonde’s body, but she makes it to the bell, even though she drops to her knees before she gets to her corner.

No point scoring – obviously Liv.

Round 3

Badly battered after just 2 rounds, Victoria makes it out for the third, and Liv’s letting her land a couple of jabs – Tyler’s smiling, almost laughing – big straight left to Vic’s mouth, right hook to the jaw – over! Victoria lying senseless on her back – outgunned and outclassed.

Liv Tyler knocked Victoria Smurfit out un round 3.

As she watches Victoria being carried form the ring, Liv shakes her head, “Big-hearted but stupid – I hope you all enjoyed what you saw tonight! I hear you’ve got me fighting some posh songbird next- Sophie Ellis-Bextor! C’mon Brits, I want your champ in the ring, that Javine whatever! She just looks right for me to beat up!”
