“And just what do you two think you’re doing?”
Lacey Chabert smirked, with just a hint of devilish glee, as she took stock of the sight in front of her. Sitting on her stool in her corner was Beth Harnois – though she was starting to come around in the wake of her knockout loss, she was only at the edge of consciousness and in no condition whatsoever to defend herself from Lacey’s wicked ministrations. Between Lacey and Beth stood Sarah Carter and Hayden Panetierre, both with angry glowers on their faces as they formed a barrier to shield the stricken blonde. Sarah wore a white blouse, sleeves already rolled up, and dark slacks, while Hayden was in a tank top and jeans – both seemed to have dressed somewhat practically in the event that physical escalation proved necessary.
“You’re not going to do this,” Sarah replied, “Get lost while you still can.”
“Yeah!” Hayden added, just for unnecessary emphasis.
“I’ve earned this,” Lacey said, “She knew the risks getting into the ring with me… If she didn’t want to end up with a face full of jug, she shouldn’t have agreed to this fight.”
“No,” Sarah repeated emphatically, “You’re going to leave. Now.”
“Beat it,” Hayden added again, “You can’t take us both on together!”
Ignoring the younger blonde’s last outburst, Lacey stepped closer and reached out with her hand, rubbing her fingers along the older blonde’s upper arm. “Oh Sarah,” she said in the sweetest tone of voice possible, “You’ve hardened your heart so much towards me after all of these years… What did I ever do to deserve your scorn?”
“Stop it,” Sarah answered curtly, “I’m not in the mood for your games.”
“But you used to love the games we played so much… All the things we did together… All the things I used to make you do… How could you have forgotten?”
“Um… What are you talking about?” Hayden asked.
Lacey glanced at Hayden, and then back at Sarah. “Oh… You didn’t tell her? Why didn’t you?”
Sarah’s eyes went wide. “Don’t you dare…”
“Is it because it’d make you look like a hypocrite for chewing her out when she asked me to help beat you last year? That high horse of yours sure wouldn’t have any legs to stand on after this bombshell, would it? Or is it because you don’t want her to know about how tightly wound around my finger I used to have you? You don’t want her to know about that, do you?”
“I said stop it,” Sarah repeated. She was clearly trying not to raise her voice or lose her cool in the face of her former friend, but was obviously losing the battle against both.
“What?! What’s going on here?” Hayden demanded. Lacey couldn’t help but notice that Hayden had taken a step or two away from Sarah, and was now facing down friend and foe alike.
“Consorting with the enemy… That’s not exactly a charge you’re innocent of, is it?” Lacey gently ran her hand to the center of Sarah’s shirt collar, and then traced her index finger up and down towards the blonde’s chest almost wistfully.
“Don’t!” Sarah commanded, even louder than before. She was on the verge of boiling over.
“Do you remember that week we spent together in Cabo? Jeez, we didn’t even leave the hotel room for the first two days because we were-“
“I told you to shut up!” Sarah screamed, finally losing her cool. The blonde lashed out with her hand, slapping the brunette hard across the cheek.
Lacey was forced back a step by the strength of Sarah’s blow, but was hardly fazed. Instead, the brunette threw herself forward and, wrapping her arms around the blonde’s neck, locking her lips with the other girl’s. Sarah squealed and tried to push Lacey away, but the brunette clung on tightly, pressing her body completely against the blonde’s and relishing the passionate kiss for all that it was worth.
Sarah was finally able to get her hands in between them and push Lacey away forcefully. Lacey smiled devilishly as the blonde glared daggers at her, trying to catch her breath.
“You remember that, don’t you Sarah?” Lacey said slyly, “Don’t deny it… I know you’ve missed me…”
Lacey glanced over at Hayden. The younger blonde’s jaw was dropped, dumbstruck at the scene that had just transpired. Without another word, the brunette turned away and sauntered back towards her corner.
“WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!” she heard Hayden scream as she walked away.
Lacey smiled a wicked smile.

For once Beth had absolutely nothing to say. She had expected to end up between Lacey's mountainous melons, but she never expected to find herself in the middle of another Hayden/Lacey/Sarah soap opera.
However Assistant Communications Director Danielle Harris stepped in to steer a distraught Hayden and Sarah out of the ring. Hayden kept trying to talk to Sarah, but Carter finally wrenched herself away from Danielle.
"When are you going to realize how much Lacey Chabert hates me?" She cried. "She twist anything she could to make my life miserable and she's just done it again!"
"But what happened?" Hayden asked plainitively.
"Nothing! Nothing like what she WANTS you think happened!" Sarah cried, for once her ice queen poise crumbling. Suddenly she snapped. "I don't owe you explainations for things that have nothing to do with Foxfire. I'm sorry I ever had anything to do with that b###h!"
With that Sarah stormed away. Now Beth came hurrying up to them. She seemed to have made a rapid recovery from being beaten up with Lacey Chabert.
"What's going on? What did she say?" Beth asked.
"Ask Dani, I'm going home!" Hayden declared and stalked off going in the opposite direction from Sarah.
Dani sighed: "Just another day in 'As The Foxfire Turns'."

Sarah sat quietly in a dark corner of the Foxfire locker room, Hayden Panettiere approached her.
"Sarah? Are you all right?" Hayden asked.
Sarah's voice sounded pathetic: "How could she do that? She told me she loved me. I trusted her. She stuck a knife in my gut and twisted it."
Hayden sat down nearby: "That was a lousy thing to do. She must have really hated you do something like that."
"It's never been easy for us," Sarah said, "we both had trust issues. Well, maybe I had the trust issues and she found a way to get around them. Hayd--she sounded so SINCERE--and, well, that weekend, she sure ACTED sincere. But that's what it was, all an act. And I fell for it like a dumb blonde."
"As a blonde, I have to say the shame should be on that bubble-boobed brunette. I don't know how she can look herself in the mirror after doing this to you," Hayden said.
"She can, I assure you," Sarah said. Then her voice harden. "I'll be damned if I let her get away with this. Beth does know I didn't rat her out?"
"None of us think you would have ratted any of us out," Hayden said. "Don't forget Lacey did a number on me, too--though not quite as bad as yours."
"No need to argue over who was the bigger fool with Chabert," Sarah said her voice firm. "What we need to do is start working on a way to pay her back."
"Now that's my 'Ice Queen'!" Hayden said brightening.
"Yes, and the Ice Queen knows how to get revenge," Sarah said, clearly starting to savor the prospect.
"Good," Hayden said, "now get out of the dark and start scheming."
"With pleasure," Sarah said getting to her feet. "That brunette is going to pay for messing with me!"
