Boxing in Britain

Before; Liz Hurley back in the ring after a long layoff to give birth and to deal with several devastating setbacks in the ring--she’s a beefy lightweight compared to gaunt bantam she had become. “I feel great, I’m stronger at this weight, I truly believe I will reclaim my former status as an elite fighter,” Asked about Catherine Zeta Jones’ claims to have run Liz from the ring, Hurley laughs. “it’s the usual claptrap from Jones. In my absence, she has resurfaced as the premier Brit out there, but now that I’m back, she shall be made to accept the new reality.” but first, fast rising Brook. A threat to both establishment brunettes--younger, with slicker skills and E cup power--Maxim magazine pegs Kelly as one of the brightest young prospects to come out of the British Isles since, well, Liz Hurley. Liz in black sports bra, black boy cut trunks, Kelly in red sports bra, red boy cut trunks.

During R1: Rust showing on Hurley early--usually silky smooth southpaw eating the brook jab, getting touched up uncharacteristically cleanly--wheel fall all the way off as Brook steps into a routine double jab, driving right cross to sit Liz down at the minute mark. Brook squealing in delight, smiling and bouncing o the neutral corner--Liz shaking her head, dusting herself off and taking 8 with clear eyes. Rest of the way is classy give and take--Hurley pivoting to her right around her righty hook, dropping the lead hand to her hip to slide step back, attempting to walk Brook into that sneak straight left, Brook advancing smartly, not giving up on the jab despite Liz’s tighter defense and firing hard right hands down the middle at Hurley’s chin. Big 10-8 Kelly Brook.

R2: Luz out much more confidently this round, immediately stopping to reach the right jab into Kelly’s belly, pivoting to the right and getting the young brunette turning early, Liz crafty with that clipping righty hook, swatting it to Brook’s kidney and cheek, always just out of range of Kelly’s heavy right. Hurley jamming the straight left in on the left side of Kelly’s chin--Brook taking hard punches as she turns, gets stroked, and can’t pulled the trigger herself. Midway through, Hurley spins off Brook’s hips, jams in the left from off the brunette’s left shoulder, Brook shaken up by the awkward sock on her chin--she stumbles back under attack as Hurley stays on her side, punching in the left to the ropes. Brook wide-eyed and confused--Hurley launching supple right hooks and straight left hands, ducking and moving her head as he punches to evade any counters. A hard right on the eye has Kelly momentarily stupefied, gloves wide apart, and Liz rockets up the middle with a straight left to the point of the chin, driving Brook’s back and head over the top rope, Hurley stepping away with glee as Kelly pools forwards to lie on her face stone cold OUT! KO2 Liz Hurley--veteran puts the hammer down on a lovely, but outgunned prospect.

After: Breezy victory for Hurley--she makes a nice light snack of an obviously pumped up Kelly Brook who needs to fight some more Page 3 girls to get her act together. “There’s a difference4 between World Class and Club Fighter,” sneers Liz in postfight. “A difference of which Kelly is now painfully aware, I am positively back, and looking forward to proper beatings for all my old friends who had thought to have seen the last of me.” As for brook, WN still interested in developing the talent--she could use some time in (can;’t remmber her name--the older blonde veteran Dani just beat)’s dungeon.*
