Before: Great slugfest as Dunning and Nolin each made to order for the other. Nolin the harder puncher, but Debbe double-tough and won’t be intimidated by Nolin’s cheapness. Outdoor beach bout, bleachers--Nolin in yellow bikini, high neck top, Dunning in green scotch print push-up bikini.

During R1: Dunning committed to boxing early, pushes out a heavy jab and steers Gena effectively, but Nolin earns her first foul with an blatant elbow thrown flat to the ribcage of Dunning. Fight bogs down as Nolin clinches and wraps Dunning up tight--Debbe protesting wildly as Nolin gets under her skin.

R2: More boxing from Debbe as she steps deliberately around the ring, right hand at her cheek, left thumping out against Gena’s face with surprising accuracy. Dunning with textbook one-twos, chases Nolin around the ring, stepping with the blonde, shooting straight right to the face or body off the jab.

R3: Dunning a little predictable with the jab, and nolin takes advantage, unleashing that dread overhand right to smash Debbe’s head to one side. Dunning on Queer Street, stumbles forward and gets caught a gorgeous uppercut as she tumbles into Nolin, gena with a wrecked brunette in front of her, stabilizes Debbe with the left, and clubs away with wide right hands to leave dunning defenseless at the bell.

R4: Dunning now brawling, legs too shot to perform sharp boxing technique. Grimly, Debbe lifts her left hook from the hip into Nolin’s taut midsection while the blonde continues to key on Debbe’s face with right hands. Banging single shots flow back and forth, but Nolin’s heavier hands start to tell, and Debbe is swooning in the final minute. Nolin once again cracks Debbe with the uppercut coming in, and Dunning folds against the blonde, out on her feet as Nolin taunts her in the clinch.

R5: Debbe Dunning mounts a charge, beaten beyond recognition, Dunning stalks Nolin, lifting her punches from her hips, and overwhelming Gena with swinging lefts and rights. Nolin useless going backwards, begins to field heavy shots, and a vicious Dunning hook midway though spins the blonde sideways. Dunning chugging away with exhausted arm punches, has Nolin sagging on the ropes, and as the two slap at one another, Dunning drives home a short right hand on the teeth that has Nolin clinching, Bell sounds as the girls loll against the ropes in one another’s arms, both punchy at this point.

R6: girls come out all stiff-legged,. Open-mouthed, hands low. Nolin turns into a tired-looking right hand that thuds into Debbe’s chest, and the brunette staggers back a step. Nolin stepping with Debbe, simply clubs with the right hand, walking Dunning down and beating her to the verge of a stoppage in crude, brutal action. Dunning not clinching, not punching, gloves at her stomach as she leans this way and that--Nolin stalking and ripping single shots to the body and head--Gena posts the shutout and keeps punching after the bell so that Dunning doesn’t miss the point.

R7: Same tortuous, slogging pace, only this time Debbe gives as good as she gets. For two minutes, the exhausted battlers step around one another, taking turns hurling right hands or left hooks, connecting more often than not, but each too hurt to finish the other. Down the stretch, Nolin with a blatant right hand low, draws a tired whimper from Debbe, who folds up and takes a beating to the bell.

R8: Gena Lee starts Debbe out with the spearing right hand low, following through with her shoulder, and the girls fall in together, Debbe blubbering in pain. All Nolin as she pushes Debbe to the topes and savages her there, rubbing her forearm across the girl’s eyes, pushing her back across the ropes, and holding and hitting until the break. Dunning with tragically closed eyes, bravely slugs back with wide lefts and rights in the final minute as Nolin covers up at the bell.

R9: Brutal quid pro quo continues, as each throws a bomb, then covers up to take her medicine. Nolin too strong, starts to beat Debbe ragged, and Dunning getting caught with the overhand  right too many times to ignore. Nolin holding Dunning with the left, pulls the brunette into heartless uppercuts to the body and chin--Debbe not responding at the bell.

R10: Nolin missing a wild right hand over the  top, an Debbe catches her a sweeping left hook on the chin to spill the blonde to canvas to pen the 10th, Nolin desperately hurt, barely beats the count, and immediately wades back in with the right hand cocked. Debbe beats her to the punch, bending into her own overhand right, and Nolin’s momentum carries her forward on to her face for a quick second knockdown! Nolin rolling to her back in pain, eyes clenched shut, doesn’t look like she can make it, but she beats the count once again. Dunning staggering forward, bodies up and pushes Nolin to the ropes. Bitter effort to destroy the blonde develops as Debbe leans against Gena, mustering single blows to the blonde’s body or jaw as Nolin covers up. Gena looks like a survivor until late, when wide Debbe right hands bust the blonde up, and Gena slides into the corner. Dunning with exhausted final flurry can’t put her girl down, and both girls subsequently collapse in their corners. Decision comes back a narrow Gena Lee Victory, prompting boos from the crowd, and Nolin is out on her stool, unable to hear the verdict.

After: Dunning shattered by the loss, giving every last ounce of herself in the 10th round only to be denied. Nolin giving Dunning a dreadful beating for much of the fight, finished up out on her feet, in as vicious brawl as has ever been witnessed in the sport. Nolin’s grittiest effort in a long, long time.
