Samia's Samurai vs Dani's She Devils 5

Site: Belfast, North Ireland

All of the fights are must-win for the Samurai now, and the BBU flyweight champion will be looking for her third win, this time against Nina, recently recruited by BBU America, and only used once to date, due to her other commitments. How will this go? Danni is unbeaten, but hasn’t fought anyone of this class before, and it should be remembered that Emilie de Ravin floored her twice.

Danni looks lithe and confident, “I know Nina’s good – but I’m undefeated, and intend to stay that way!” but a smiling Nina stares at her, “No, blonde girl – you’re going down! This will be the victory to win the night for us!”

Round 1

Neither girl seems willing to get too involved in the opening moments, each of them popping out their swift jabs, but not looking to follow up just yet. Nina is taking the centre of the ring, though, making the older girl do all the work, having to dance and hop around her, using her energy, while the She Devil seems content to clip Danni when she gets in range. As the round wears on, Nina’s height and reach become more of a problem for Danni, and she gets the first combination assault going on the Brit’s face, left jab, right jab, left jab – and these are good punches, each one snapping Brent’s head back, and the blonde is running out of ringspace, she needs to get away from the corner! Too late! Nina has her, bangs a big straight left right between her gloves into her mouth, then belts a right hook to her cheek, and Dannielle hits the canvas, face down, hurt, but up at 8, luckily close enough to the bell not to be hit again.

Round 2

That first round has left Danni with a big bruise on her left cheek, and she soon finds it being thumped by Nina’s fast punches, the girl expertly switching to southpaw, her right lead punishing the Brit, who is trying to keep moving, but she gets stuck on the ropes, where Nina sorts her out to the body, ribs first, then a two fisted battering to the belly, right to the face, then a left, good right hand, and Danni’s down again, nose bleeding, breathing heavily through her mouth, but on her feet at 8, then pounded to the ribs again, set up and floored for a third time – left hook, now, putting Danni on her back, up at 8 again, hurt to the ribs, and again – bell!

Nina is overwhelming Danni – clearly her round.

Round 3

Danni looks like she ran into a truck, a truck called Nina Dobrev, who tucks into the blonde immediately on resumption, not really boxing now, just hitting the BBU champion, swinging arcing punches with either hand, Danni’s defence gone, her legs gone too, and Nina finishes her off with a clubbing right hook, the previously unbeaten Danielle Brent laying face-down, more or less unconscious.

Nina Dobrev knocked Dannielle Brent out in round 3 to give the She Devils an unassailable 3 – 0 lead.

Nina walks around the ring slowly, arms aloft, the crowd cheering her, while a dazed and confused Dannielle sits on the canvas. Denise van Outen gets a few words from the winner, “That’s what you call boxing – Britain! And that’s why I’m fighting in FCBA!”
