Both girls chew on chin-checks; both hold firm...Alana picking Maria up the rigid right uppercut in tight; Maria clouting the right to jaw in reprisal. R5: Maria weaving forward in earmuff...Alana lunges in - sweeping wide right hand to take Menounos in her leftside lats - the fist biting in deep, gouging out a track along the line of Maria's left breast...savage punch has Menounos stricken. Alana sensing opportunity...she's in wide stance yet - pushing Maria in her shoulders to jostle; fetching her another vicious sidearm right in the ribs, then popping hips-right to tuck a sickening left uppercut into Maria's sternum. Maria: "OH-hhh..." Menounos in agony - reaching to clinch: Alana stays in pocket - fitting right uppercut into breadbasket; left uppercut to breadbasket; stepping back in good order as MARIA GOES DOWN! Menounos sloppy to hands-and-haunches, weeping for breath...brave Grecian beauty fights off her knees, but she's helpless, hugging herself at ropes. Ref waves it off - cradles Maria to safety: TKO5 Alana De La Garza.

After: Alana ANNOUNCING herself to Maria's midsection in this one: Latina making a bold bid for post-partum credibility with a rugged win. "I knew it wouldn't be enough to simply beat Maria back," Alana says in postfight. "She had to be hurt, and well...mission accomplished!"
