Selena has arrived in the UK, with the hope that she can register some wins – the teenager has lost her first three fights pretty badly, whereas her opponent, former Dr Who girl Freema Agyeman lost her debut, against the bigger Billie Piper. Selena is taller than Freema, and her reach could be a problem, but Freema should win this one.

Freema wears a black bikini for the contest, while Selena has picked a scarlet outfit.

Round 1

Freema is really buzzing from the opening seconds, getting good shots off to the teenager’s Belly and ribcage, already hurting the taller girl. Selena is fleet-footed and well schooled, but the Brit is outpacing her in these early stages, and takes her to the ropes, getting inside Selena’s longer reach, knocking her around inside, then clipping her face with some sharp shots, and it’s a dazed Selena Gomez who stumbles along the ropes to her corner at the bell.

Freema takes the first round.

Round 2

Now Selena looks more like her energetic self – she was caught cold in the first – and the kid looks good, if a little wooden, bouncing on her toes, finding Freema a hittable target early on, but her punches are not hard enough to trouble the older girl, who gets some more good shots into the kid’s belly and flanks, hurts her, then lands two, three solid shots to her head, nails her with a left hook to the mouth, and another, and Selena hits the floor, groaning as she rises at 7, having to take more punishment before the bell.

Good round won for Freema there.

Round 3

Now Freema is dominating Selena, walking the teenagers around the ring to a large extent, taking her to the ropes, hitting her to the body, letting her back, taking her to the opposite ropes, she gives the kid a beating to that young body, and Selena’s down again, troubled by hard punches to her belly, she’s on her knees, resumes at 8, but is taking another beating in her own corner at the bell.

Freema all the way.

Round 4

Selena looks very dazed and confused as the round starts, and Freema hurts her immediately to the body – the kid’s knees have gone, really – left hook to the jaw, and that’s enough, she doesn’t move as the ref counts to 10.

Freema Agyeman knocked Selena Gomez out in round 4.

Freema celebrates a good win, but she needs better fights if she is to make her mark
