Before: Cuthbert scorching Blalock for perhaps the Knockout of the Year, Upset of the Year, and Shock of the Year when she halted the lanky-bodied bantam last time out--Jolene positively YEARNING for payback. “Being stretched by Elisha was the most humiliating moment of my career,” Jolene admits quietly in preflight--usually stoic blonde struggling to control her emotions as she recalls Cuthbert’s triumph. Elisha bubbly, brash and confident her side of the dais, “Everybody said I should take the win and run for the hills,” chuckles curvy blonde, ‘but I said ‘No way: we’re beating this girl again’. Jolene has a lightweight’s reach and power, with a flyweight chin: do the math. Girls that play it safe with Jolene, she just walks down and annihilates--the ONLY way to fight her is to risk her right hand, go at her and take her out. No fear: that’s my motto for this fight.” Jolene in pea green bikini top, bra straps, ivory bottoms; gold belly chain--Elisha in black FHM bikini, ring connections hips n’ tits. Elisha brazen during ring instructions, staring up at Blalock, really pounding Jolene’s gloves to touch ‘em up.
During 1,2: Blalock visibly tentative--Cuthbert obviously getting between willowy blonde’s ears some. Jolene right hand under her chin, swatting slow with the hook, backhanding the jab and flinching like she might drop the right, but not releasing it. Blalock sliding back, weight on her back foot, trying to negotiate distance--Cuthbert advancing behind brisk, herky-jerk bob and weave, punching out of the crouch--she’s backing taller beauty up, bossing her around and landing all the meaningful blows through 2.
R3: Blalock with that patient, slide and react look, easing back from Elisha, dangling the left hand to measure and THERE’S THAT RIGHT HAND! Cobra-strike as Jolene walks Cuthbert into a whistling shot on the chops--Krusher cutey spanked senseless, frozen forward in her crouch, then stumbling to all fours as creeping paralysis spreads from her chin to her toes. ‘Lish showing heart--beating the count, nodding aggressively yes to the ref, but her ears are ringing as Blalock wades in, Bell to bell Jolene--long legs wide stance, measuring Elisha the jab, leaning into sizzling rights, easing back out with licking left uppercuts or hooks. Cuthbert elbows in, covered up, bending forward, leaning back under heavy shellack--nothing but pride and curvy legs holding cuddly blonde up. Withering beat down takes its toll as Blalock’s long slashing hook tears away beneath the guard, right hands shave chin, left uppercuts pick up drowsy face, but Cuthbert gets through it. Krusher gets salts and heavy rubdown in her corner--Blalock sullen as she takes on water.
R4: Elisha shocking ringsiders within earshot by challenging Jolene to “hit me harder!” midring--Blalock visibly cowed by the bravado--lanky blonde goes back to the tepid stick and move she showed in dropping the first two heats. Cuthbert through combination of bluster, pressure and honest punching hammers away to hips and flanks when she can find Jolene--’Lish taking café to rotate her torso, move her head as she bullies Blalock around the ring.
R5: Blalock boxes a little more authoritatively, stinging with the jab now rather than just laying out there Jolene pivoting on her left foot, leaning into right hands with some body behind them--she’s scoring effectively on Elisha now, busting up that cutey-pie face with spanking connects. But Cuthbert won’t back off--she’s still weaving in and hooking that waist, hooking those ribs and whenever Blalock steps right back--Elisha’s stepping with and swinging righty to the chin. Cuthbert growing in confidence every minute she hangs around--Jolene just letting it happen.
R6: Elisha forcing Blalock o fight--Jolene responding. JB in her wide stance, twisting her hips to drag home that long, cranking hook underneath--Cuthbert huddling forward as Blalock strokes away to the body. Jolene stepping to the right, backhanding her jab and fitting Cuthbert for clean right hands--shearing blows to the chin putting Cuthbert wobbly butt, stopping her in her tracks--Elisha taking a terrific shot, but Jolene finding the range. Crowd murmuring, uneasy at the bell as Blalock looks to be dealing deadly at last.
R7: Shutout Blalock, Jolene operating out of the wide stance, pressing the right hand to measure, then strapping home lanky left hooks to the body--Cuthbert doing a little wounded shuffle to her left as Blalock rips away. Jolene stepping around midring, snapping out the backhand jab off her hip, leaning into rights, coming back to the body with long armed whip-hooks--it’s a thorough hip to head shellacking of gutsy Elisha. Cuthbert staying low, trying to roll with the bright hands, soaking up the hooks--as effective as Jolene is, she’s still hesitant to commit 100% to finishing.
R8: Cuthbert finding spots to fight back--she’ll cover up and let Blalock work her over with stroking hooks and slinging rights, then she’ll pop out of crouches and surprise Blalock with hooks and stubby rights of her won. Interesting cat and mouse with Jolene looking lanky over Cuthbert, lashing at her back and body--Cuthbert answering like a badger defending its warren. Down the stretch--Jolene misses a sizzling right over the top--Cuthbert hops out of crouch and gets her hips through a crunching hook to the jaw! BLALOCK REELS AWAY! Jolene caught a bashing clout, hits the ropes hands at her chest and covers up just as Elisha roars in. Cuthbert fighting off the chest, clubbing away at arms, ribs, skull as Jolene tries to wrap up behind the elbows at the bell.
R9: Bell to bell Cuthbert! Jolene with visions going out to Elisha’s hook suddenly gunshy--long-legged blonde starts wheeling the ring behind a don’t-hurt-me jab! Elisha the aggressor--occasionally hounding Blalock to ropes and working her over about the hips and midriff. Jolene leaning her head in close, palming Cuthbert’s shoulders, pulling down on her head--‘Lish able to keep hands free and bash away to that svelte midsection, mauling Blalock’s sinewy frame along the ropes.
R10: Blalock scoring with the jab, lifting it off her thigh to track Cuthbert’s head, but again--Jolene retreating, legging out the clock rather than trying to end Cuthbert’s night. it’s Elisha coming forward, pressing the pace, making the fight--Cuthbert having good moments bullying Jolene at the ropes, fighting off her chests and POUNDING that trim torso, Blalock sliding along the strands, occasionally walking Cuthbert into the uppercut but Elisha immediately answering with clubbing rights or lefts to the head and jaw to draw more wiry clinches, Blalock shaky, uncharacteristically defensive to the bell-she forfeit’s the 20th and incredibly, this one goes to the cards. Comes back 1 point duke: ELISHA CUTHBERT!
After: An even bigger upset than last time--Elisha Cuthbert somehow running the gauntlet of raking hooks and crosses from the division’s most dangerous, silkiest puncher--but Blalock clearly suffering psychological aftershocks from the first fight not fighting her usual style. “I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen it,” says one stunned BLONDE! mag scribe, “but Elisha kind of punked Jolene tonight. Blalock was fighting scared all night long.” Blalock in a deep blue funk, ashen-faced as her gloves are removed--she’s got an 800-pound gorilla on her back by the name of Elisha Cuthbert, Cuthbert ecstatic, bubbling over with the win--she comes off the canvas early, collects herself and wins the last three rounds to bulldoze Blalock into defeat. “When I caught her that shot in the 8th,” Cuthbert recalls gleefully, “I saw it in her eyes: she was remembering the knockout and she quit right then and there! She didn’t want anymore Elisha Cuthbert because my punching was wearing her down!” Gamble pays off huge for the Krushers--Cuthbert one hot little bantam at the moment.
