TESS VALMORE

FOX/ CHUNG I am not a big fan of Fox but what happened to her was an absolute disgrace. Chung punched her while she was on her knees in the first. Hit her with a flying knee in the second hurting Fox so badly that she couldn’t compete and the referee let Chung get away with it. Not only should Chung be severely punished but the referee should be barred from FCBA fights. He is a complete idiot

PREJEAN/ SOBIESKI I was surprised that this fight got made. I am surprised that any Prejean fight gets made. In this instance, after barely surviving the first, Prejean got on her horse and legged out the next two rounds. Sobieski finally tracked her down in the fourth and KOed Prejean with a right.

REGAN/ GILLAN Gillan surprised me by flooring Regan in the first, but Regan wasn’t hurt and took the second round. Gillan took the lead in the third, but in the fourth a sweeping right hand from Regan caught Gillan square on her jaw and she went down and out

WINSTEAD/ PALICKI I am beginning to think I am watching a BBU card. Four fights so far and none goes past the fourth? In this instance Winstead ran off three straight rounds when in the fourth a booming fight hand from Palicki put Winstead out cold. Lightweights should beware of Palicki. This is not the first time that she has shown one punch power

PARK/ McCARTHY This had to be a hard bout for The Wiz to stomach. The fight was a good one, with Park taking the first two rounds and McCarthy the next two. They were even at the end of six. McCarthy took the lead on the cards in the seventh and then ended Park’s night in the eighth with an overhand right to the face. There was some post fight antics that we will not go into, but they didn’t sit well with the Wiz, who has called for McCarthy to get a lifetime suspension

DECKER/ BELL OK I have to eat crow. I said “a tired Bell could beat a fresh Decker” and questioned Decker’s abilities. The Wiz disagreed with me. He was right (he’s always right) I thought Bell was “tired”. I didn’t know she was comatose. She is a typical example of a fighter not knowing when to quit. In denial that her days are over. This is what I don’t want to see happen to Charlize or Jennifer. Decker took every round but the ninth. Bell had her moments, particularly in the ninth but Decker handed her a devastating defeat. Bell is now 4-7 in her last eleven fights and two of her wins were against the likes of Madsen and Driver

SHAKRIA/ RICCI Ricci actually won a fight. That’s always news. The fight was even through four. Ricci decked Shakria in the fifth and dominated the fight after that. Shakria would win only one more round, the eighth, as Ricci got the decision

SHAHL/ JOHANNSON This was a tougher fight for Johannson than we expected. I thought Johannson would cruise with little problem from Shahl and Shahl probably wouldn't last four. Shahl and Johannson swapped rounds and were even on the cards at the end of six. Johannson brought home the win in the seventh, with a series of rights to the chin that put Shahl down and out

WITHERSPOON/ SCERBO Cassie is my buddy and this was a tough one to watch for me. Cassie looked good for the first two rounds but then Witherspoon got in gear and took the next seven rounds decking Cassie three times to get the decision. I never dreamed Witherspoon would beat Scerbo. I don’t think Cassie took the fight seriously, as her taking as the trip to Scotland inside a suitcase two days before the fight shows. Note that the Wiz said Witherspoon is the best fighter in Academy outside of Benz. Shows he doesn’t think much of Theron. Remember. The Wiz is always right

LARTER/ COOK Larter was in her second bout since coming back. This was a good fight. Larter had a slim lead at the half way point, but then Cook took the next two rounds to take the lead. Larter salted the fight away by winning the last three rounds, and getting a well deserved decision.

DOBREV/ PANETTIERE No surprise in this fight. No surprise in who win and no surprise as to how long it took Panettiere to win. Dobrev did have a good first round but Panettiere stabilized the fight in the second and in the third landed a series of rights to Dobrev’s chin and the fight was over

KELLY/ CASSIDY We thought Kelly would win this fight. This was not one of our better PPV’s Cassidy got off to a fast start winning the first four rounds. Kelly took the fifth and decked Cassidy in the sixth. Cassidy floored Kelly in the seventh and took the eighth. That was enough to give Cassidy the decision, although she took a beating in the last two rounds.

McADAMS/ GREENE This was a good fight but I don’t understand how the judges gave the fight to McAdams by a one point decision. We had the fight scored five rounds each, but Greene had the only knockdown. I actually thought that Greene had won the fight, but obviously the officials saw something I didn’t and gave McAdams a one point decision.

BIEL/ NICHOLS This was the fight we looked forward to the most on this card. I thought that Biel was back, but now I am not sure. After losing four straight knockouts she went over to train at Front Street and won two. She was facing a top fighter here and she came out on the short end. Nichols took six of the rounds and decked Biel three times to get a wide decision. I respect The Wiz’s opinion that Biel is the best lightweight. Granted, every fighter has a bad night but Biel has had a lot recently. I note Ginny’s thoughts. The same had occurred to Fred, our editor months ago

SPEARS/ AGUILERA I did not think that Aguilera could compete with Spears and I was right. The only way she can win a round is by fouling, which she did in at leas three rounds. Justice was finally served in the ninth round, when Spears ripped into Aguilera and finally knocked her out with a right uppercut to the chin

DIAZ/ LANDRY. The outcome of this fight was another surprise. I know that Diaz has been a hot boxer recently, but I don’t think she is as good as Landry. This was a really good fight. Diaz got a knockdown in the first and Landry got a knockdown in the fifth. At the end this fight could have gone either way but the judges gave the one point duke to Diaz. We note that Diaz claims to be the best fighter in boxing but we have to note her recent loss

ALBA/ CUTHBERT Two veterans duking it out. This was Alba’s 100th fight. She ends the night with a 48/48/4 record. It was Cuthbert’s 90th fight. The fight lasted into the seventh round. You might say that Alba won four rounds Cuthbert won three. In all three of Cuthbert’s winning rounds she floored Alba, and in the seventh Alba didn’t get up from the knockdown.

KRUEK/ PORTMAN The two got off to a rousing start in the first with both hitting the canvas. Portman took control of the fight in the second and started working on Kruek left eye. By the end of the third Kruek’s left eye was swelling. By the sixth she was fighting southpaw to protect the eye. By the eighth the eye was closed and Portman decked Kruek twice, the last time for the full count

HUDGENS/ WILLIAMS What has the FCBA come to? Hudgen’s a champion? Is that how low the flyweight division has sunk? Don’t bother to tell me just how good Hudgens is. She just lost to Hannah Spearitt of all people. This is a crazy division. Williams earned a title shot by losing to Hudgens. Hudgens earned a title shot by losing to Spearitt. Does one ever get a title shot by winning a fight? Anyway Hudgens took the first five rounds including knockdowns in the second and fifth. She also took the last round to give her a good decision and the title belts. Hudgens claims she is the best fighter in boxing. Haven’t we heard that before tonight from another fighter? Don’t we hear that in every PPV. Really girls, if you can’t think of something new, shut up

GLAU/ DUSHKU This is why we put Dushku in our recent Hall of Fame induction. The “Sheriff “ dominated this fight after the third round handing Glau a bad beating. She decked Glau in the eighth and again in the ninth. The tenth was hard to watch as Dushku pounded Glau at will and ringsiders were calling for the fight to be stopped including me. The referee finally got it and did stop the fight, Dushku walks away with the belts again. She now has 37 title belts.
