Just a few fights I’ve simulated but won’t be doing full write ups on. A reminder that what we see is just the tip of the iceberg as far as celebrity boxing goes. Bit of a spotlight on Julie Chen as some familiar names take her for a series of test drives with mixed results. CBS banking on Chen, but moving her under the radar screen--has some solid textbook fundaments, but might lack the requisite toughness of an elite fighter.

Backdate June 02: Julie Chen vs. Jolene Blalock, Cipriana’s NYC. Chen in pale blue bra, tan leather bikini bottoms, Jolene in blonde battle braid, black string bikini. KO2 Blalock. Chen opening early and shocking Blalock with a series of swatting hooks, straight right hands on the ear and between the mitts--Blalock on her heels and busted up ion the nose in a rocky first  minute. All Blalock as Chen lays off--Jolene gets after Chen with cranking long hooks to the belly, whip arming strings of hooks up and down Chens frame to batter Julie in a semi-circle. Chen shaken up, moving her feet, can’t get anything going--end comes as she’s caught hooking with Blalock, dazzled on her feet, helpless as Jolene o\puts a lanky finishing flurry together to stop Julie out at the ropes.

Late June 02: Julie Chen vs. Sophia Choi: CBS News vs. CNN--Cipriani’s NYC. Chen in red cotton jockey two piece, Choi in pink cotton tank and panties. UD10 Julie Chen. Fun-filled brawl as evenly matched contestants consistently hurt and work each other over, but can’t find the off switch. Julie takes it 8 rounds to 2, but it’s competitive--Choi a counterpuncher, allows Chen to find rhythm and range, but right hands over Julie’s jab cause repeated panic attacks. Chen dropped in the 7th off a counter right, rocked throughout the fight, but shows good concentration, shutting Choi out in the 9th and 10th, closing her rival’s eyes and jabbing her into stupor by the finish.

July 02: Julie Chen vs. Kiana Tom--Hawaii Hilton. To in black sports bra, red boy cut trunks, Julie in red sports bra, gold bikini bottoms. Tom quietly coming back in her own back yard--nice exotique fight an easy sell for thrifty Tom Enterprises. KO2 Tom--Kiana untouched as she blazed into Chen’s waist with cranking Hearns left hooks, jabbing to set her weight on the back foot and driving in with a crashing right cross on the button that folds Chen to her back in frightening fashion. Julie unable to handle the pressure, can’t take determined body leather, doesn’t move her head much and seems a little too stationary--she’s getting roughed up when girls come at her strong.

Aug 02: Julie Chen vs. Kim Basinger University of Nevada Las Vegas--Julie in red cotton jockey two piece. Basinger in  hard working ponytail, black boat neck sports bra, grey cotton aerobics trunks. KO5 Basinger. Chen having some luck in this one--taking the second through 4th rounds as Basinger hangs back, tries to box it out midring with the slender Asian. Chen showing she can work a girl’s face: straight right hands, tapping left hooks in quick sequences ear and mouth on Kim--Basinger ear muffing and taking a buffeting as Chen piles up the pokes. Kimmie slowly commits to the body, getting some tough touches in throughout, and in the fifth, starts lighting Julie up with hooks on the chin. Chen staggered, wide-eyed at the ropes--Basinger digging to the body until
a gasping Julie hugs herself, sinks to her knees and coughs up a heartbreaker.
